In case anyone was wondering... the Thanks by me for supr's post is not intended to agree with bashing any particular Dev.. As I stated earlier the "war" should be over as the obvious truth is out.

Yeah, it should be... but when you post something and your very first sentence is talking about childish people who don't like UD, Then you go on to say you love UD but hate CM... you can't expect everyone to sit back and say nothing at all.

Have you ever heard the saying "Half of writing history is in hiding the truth"? Remember those words well. If people like him come along and bash CM for acting childish and refer to people who mention how UD stole everything from CM as being childish as well, and then move on to say how great UD is and how much CM sucks... all the while, no one saying any different... eventually people will forget what happened. Personally, I feel it is important that we all remember it as it happened, and not as UD and his fanboys wish we would all remember it.

Sure, the "war" is over. (War being CM wanting due credit, and UD kanging everyone else.) But obviously the lies haven't stopped.

Look I'm all for giving credit where credit is due. And I think its pretty apparent that after two public apology letters addressed directly to Cyanogen from Black Droid and giving credit on this next release and fixing his questionable release that was currently out to say thanks to Cyanogen, it showed that he was apologetic. The fact that people keep dragging it on and dragging it on is just childish. For gods sake get over it already.

Plain and simple all of this code that they are all writing their ROMs for is based off of something Google created. Do I see a single one of the creators giving credit to them for that? No not at all.

So this whole Kang thing or what ever the **** its called is just pointless.

This whole crap is point less. So Black droid used some code from cyanogen, as I'm sure that pete has used code from black droid, and I'm sure that Fabulous has used code from Pete, and Pete has used code from Cyanogen. All in all it all comes back to the same thing. Your just re-writing an OS that was created by Google. So Congratulations Google on making something we all like.

My point still stands. Choose one ROM you like and stick with it. Because no matter what you choose people like yourself will be there to tell you, your making the wrong choice.

You are incredibly misinformed. BD just straight up uses Cyanogenmod and adds some themes and maybe some scripts to it. "New Era" The md5s match up with koush's 5.07 test0. Someone gave him a copy of koushs test build and he released a rom shortly after. It has all the same bugs as koushs test build. Its pathetic.

UD new era is just a themed version of CM 5.0.7 with pete's,jrummy and adamz scripts built into it. it even carries over the video camera error that is being worked out on koush's end now and i am sure as soon as koush's team gets a fix for it UD will release an update telling everyone how awesome he is for getting the fix.

i am not going to say the rom is bad because it it a good rom since it is code from several of my favorite devs. however the fact that he put automatic god mode on it is pretty scary and dangerous. whenever a new goody is talked about on koush's IRC it magically appears as a future option on BD's roms.

oh well some will never learn.

Somehow I knew this thread would drift to where so many other threads have gone before (and frankly, I have run out of popcorn). Hopefully what anyone will take away from this, ROMs are fairly easy to flash, even easier to backup, and like any good buffet table, try it all, keep what you like and leave the rest.

You all are missing my point and you all are missing what is in my signature. I could care fu*k less what person says was stolen from where and one persons says that wasn't. I use Bugless Beast. Do I like bugless beast. Yes I do very much so. Are there features there that I wish would be there that others have, yes, but eventually there will be and Pete will use those and give credit for it.

Ultimately your missing my point. Any ROM no matter who writes anything for it was using source code that was made by Google, INC. As far as I can tell no where on Cyanogen's site do they have a donate link to google as some of you as have mentioned that Black Droid should have for Cyanogen. Here's what I would really like to happen. I'd like for all of you fan boys to just stop flaming everything and everyone just because you see some work from one person in another persons ROM. WHO THE FU*K CARES? If you don't like it move on. Your taking it as a personal insult that or that he dug up and slapped the hell out of your dead grandmother for it.

I haven't used CM since 5.0.6.1 so I can't say this for certain but when I last left APP2SD was halted because they were looking for a better solution. Now in 5.0.6.2 it may be working so I can't say that. UD 9 APP2SD came out and it worked. Whether that was from some CM's code or not I don't care, it worked. To date it still works. And as far as I know its mentioned on UD's site all of the credit for everything he has borrowed.

Now the recent battle between Pete and and Black Droid has begun. Don't know anything about and to be honest nor do I really care. Its just childish. When I first started in the android community the community was about getting out nice working software no matter who made it. Lately its been about greed and being deceitful. All I want is the community back the way it was before. I want every developer helping any other developer. People would offer support no matter what ROM you were on because they were all good. Or how about all developers finally back in one location so we can keep tabs on all of the developers at one location instead of having to go to 15 sites to check to see whats new with 6 different people. Its just plain stupid.



PS for the record my comments on CM being childish was due to the fact that on top of coming to Droid Forums and starting a bunch of rubish (which might have been called for, I'm not denying that) there was no reason to change ROM manager to what it read for a few weeks under Ultimate Droid's roms. It was just the constant badgering. It came off as quite immature and childish. At some point you have to stop and look at your users and say sorry I've been neglecting you and what are new things you would like to see me create and put out to help development of my ROM and maybe even generate a few dollars on my donate section.

Here's another thing as well to keep in mind. Every time Koush creates a line of code he puts it in his github. That github is publicly viewable to everyone. You could go in there right now and take the source of Googles ESE81 and start incorporating features that are on the github and come out with your own ROM. That's the same thing that BD did. And as far as I know he has admitted to that and put it on his website and also put it on droidforums. So I just don't understand why this keeps getting brought up. Its like beating a dead horse.

yes the code is viewable but BD does not compile it he uses the CM compiled rom. the proof is the md5s match up. the time stamps are the same. if it was recompiled it would be different. This has been discussed several times and if you have not seen the spreadsheet by now then i am not sure where you have been hiding. Use whatever rom you like just don't defend a thief if you do not have your facts straight.

I was on CM 5.0.6.2 but now I'm running BB V1 with Fab's NexTheme. Best rom I've run to date. Haven't tried New Era yet.

I had horrible batter life with CM 5.0.6.2. I haven't switched kernals or downloaded SetCPU with BB V1 and see no reason to.

Cyanogen would never boot properly for me, not sure which version. I liked BB v1 but it lacked features. Now I am running JRummy with a P3 kernel and having major temperature and speed issues (although I like the interface), but I think part of that is my own fault. I am going to reflash tonight probably and check out NexBeast

You should give NexBeast 1.0 a try...it is BB 1.0, themed with NexTheme, and has some extra features that you might like. The thread is located here:

Before you install ANY ROM, I recommend that you format the boot, system, data, and cache partitions (I format each twice). It helps with ensuring a clean installation and removes fragments of other ROMs that you have loaded in the past.

I like BB cause my phone run cooler on it. I can clock it all the way up to 1300 and not have it even get close to 45C. With Cyanogen it get hot alot faster. I like both but BB runs better on mine. I refuse to use UD because of his BS. Same reason I dont use Droid Mod anymore. Way too much BS for me.
