Your thoughts on the 2.1v3 leak?

I have never seen my bars be this low in my house. I am at one tiny one or none at all. This is before and after doing a *228 1 and 2. Calls seem fine, though.

Signal meter is not optimistic, reception is fine, dont rely on bars. If you have 3g showing your fine talk away !

Dammit just noticed it was you, really?

This reminds me of those AT&T commercials, "more bars in more places." What AT&T doesn't tell you is that it's just that--more bars--not more reception. I used to have AT&T, and I needed four bars in order to place a call. With Verizon, I can place a call with zero bars. :D

I am loving 2.1v3. Going on 3 days now and no problems. Cleared up the gmail images issue. That was the only problem I had with 2.1v2.

I have had my Eris since November 6, 2009 and have enjoyed it since day one.

I noticed a bug on youtube. I signed in on the app and I could do everything on my account. but under the notifications it kept saying I had a sign in error on my youtube account. And im signed in though lol! And it wont go away lol.

I don't know if this has been posted yet. But I thought id let everyone know.

Kinda like Brett Favre. Aahaha. :D

Not sure what it is, but try logging out and then back in. Try logging in using the mobile site and not the app.

I'll start by saying thanks to the folks who made the instructions so easy to follow on the latest update/leak.

The only issue I've found is the phone will not charge fully, and usage seems pretty high. Yes I have the 50% bug and battery life was never "great" but now I'm concerned.
I was able to get a lot of use from the phone prior, with a desk charger and car charger, streaming music from my server, or Slacking or Pandora etc.
Tomorrow I'm taking a road trip (motorcycle,no charger) so I'll get to see how the charge holds with no apps running.

You know how to fix the 50% bug, right?

As for the battery, lithium-ions should not be completely drained to "condition" them. Instead, partial charges are the best. So if you're next to a power outlet or a computer, which can also charge the phone, keep the phone on it.

Believe it or not, I had the same battery issues despite doing the tweaks, but once I did this once I noticed one day of solid battery use. I thought it was a fluke, but since then I've been charging it whenever I can and getting those partial charges in. Battery is fine now.

Try it.

i would advise anyone who is even remotely considering upgrading to a 2.1 leak to think twice....

i was pretty excited when 2.1v2 came out so i immediately downloaded and installed without doing my research... and i have had problems ever since

there is a reason why the OTA has not been pushed to us yet

STAY ON 1.5

What are the problems you have had? For me the benefit is much greater than the cost. Lag is completely gone for me. Everything is quick and functioning fine. The one bug that I had before is gone (pictures not showing up in Gmail).

It's mostly personal preference.

I agree, or root. This is not ready for prime time. If you like to play though, then give it a shot

how is that the ultimate of sins? or stupid? thats what a lot of people did.
personally, i downloaded th file on my laptop and bluetoothed it to my phone.
and ya. mine has ping tools also
No I did it STRIAGHT from the phone no wires, no computers..
I had heard on other posts that this could corrupt the phone and would ruin it if i dl from my eris but yet I may be wrong cuz I never used sense before this update but now im sticking to it cuz of how clean it feels

It's weird seeing the "day" people on at night...and a Saturday night, too! Must be slow this weekend... :)

On the 50% bug, its airplane mode for a spell and then back to mobile ? There isn't a permanent fix is there?

I usually plug in the phone a number of times a day. Might be because I'm home and messing with the Eris after the upgrade that things seem different.
