Zenithink ZT-180 1GHz 10" tablet

I am new at all this... I actually own a business in Thailand.. Importing of Goods from of course China to Thailand and for sales here and abroad...

2 days ago, I received the 7" and 10" pad from my supplier and behold.. No Thai Language Pack on the both Pads.. Can anyone, help with this.. I believe that the CN-Language pack and Keyboard work.. But I was told that to put on pad I need the ROM Software? The manufacturer will not offer us the software.. Any solutions? or Other?

The only other issue that we have is with the 10" pad... Will not let downloads from the Android Market.. Solution?

I know this is a question that has been asked to many times from all of you, but as I said.. I am too Stupid to figure this one out and the only help I received from China was to visit this forum...!! I think this actually might be a God Send for us here.. If anyone can assist us it would be greatly appreciated...

I would need instructions on how to do this, as if you were teaching a 3 year old..

Thanks in advance..
Can be contacted direct to my email.. inputltd@yahoo.com

Please Don't double post... I'll break my rule and answer in this also just so noone else goes spinning cycles trying to help;

I suggest you look over on Slatedroid where we have a whole section on the ZT-180 tablets as most questions do have answers between the FAQ Wiki and applications tested links

As I think you have the best chance of either already finding a thread with each of your answers Or a lot more folks looking for similar answers willing to share what they have learned along the way...

You should probably start by flashing the latest 1020 firmware that gives a market install that works without needing additional steps past logging into you Gmail/google acctount...

Concerning adding Alternate Languages to the tablet, that is not something I've done Much research on... I had looked at how to build Android from scratch including an alternate language but unfortunately Zenithink and Shanghai InfoTM Microelectronics (the SOC provider) are not willing to release the source/build env so we can't do things the way you might normally hope or expect...

So I went and tried... go to Menu- Settings- Lauguage and Keyboard- Set Locale ... And surely down the bottom of the list is included Thai... I set it to Thai and Some of my display changed to characters I didn't understand so SomeThing was built in...

Guys, I've been reading about this tablet, and although i could afford to get a more expensive one (Tablets | Dreambeta), this one should do. But I wanted to share this link that Im about to order from. Zenithink.us - Zenithink ZT-180 Android Tablets Shipped from USA. They are out of Houston, TX and they will send you the zenithink with the latest firmware already installed. 250USD gets you a case, 8gb sd card, and i believe free shipping in the US. They also offer customer support when need for free. Here are is a youtube video also, if you need to upgrade the firmware: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1dSM2q9nIk

And I tried going to the links above and both of them didn't work at the time. But I wanted to find out if anyone knew if the ram is upgradable or is it inter-graded into the MB? Also seen that Slide Sam 3.5 was a good alternate market place, can anyone confirm?

Hi i tried to download lates version from www.zenithink.com. It asks for registration and the dbank asks for registration and is in Chinease... My IE does not detect it as chinease so.. no translation... Any help or any other link to get it

Hi I did a google and got link from media fire.. Thanks. (But waiting for tablet to get delivered  .. And getting ready to flash new ROM once it is in my hand)

Thanks

Anyone know how to turn off the airplane icon on the main screen, when I turn on my wifi it says disconnected. If I change to wpa2 would this effect my other two tablets.

I purchased the e-pad in Hong Kong last week. Now I'm in California trying to use it. The slide me 3.5 doesn't comlete down loads. Any ideas how to fix?

If you install the latest firmware (1020) you can then use Android Market. You need a Google account first, and if you want to purchase apps, you should set up Google Checkout.

Zenithink 10 inch_download_1020 Firmware

Android Market needs the correct Date/Time to work. Maybe SlideME is the same way

Hey guys, I have a question, I've never used any of the 3g dongles or usb whatevers, so my question is, I would have to have a phone service of some kind to make it work obviously, but what 3g dongle/usb will work for T-mobile USA? Most likely It would only pick edge, but the 3G portion is HSPA 1700/2100. If there is anyone that has already dealt with his, please help? Thanks

I'm not sure what you are asking.

The firmware came directly from Zenithink, and that is where the link that I posted came from. They have taken some of the mods posted about in the XDA-Forums, and made them permanent by adding them to the firmware.

I don't have the official release notes, but according to THIS BLOG, these are supported:

QCOM,NK300
HUAWEI EC122
HUAWEI EC189
ZTE AC581

I believe that these are mostly used in Asian and European markets.

Thanks, but i just thought about something, do you know if i would be able to tether from my android phone to this device? That would make it easier and cheaper, wont have to purchase another device. Also, I'm getting mixed reviews on the battery life. Which one is it, is it 2 to 3 hours or 5 to 7 hours? Also, is the RAM upgradable at all?

It depends on what Android phone you carry? Which do you have?

Also depending on which method of tethering you choose to use, the tablet will likely need to be modified to allow for Ad Hoc networking.

@Martimus thanks, the app easy tether and i have the mytouch 3g with new update froyo 2.2. anyone knows if this can be upgraded to 512mb of ram, really would like to knowthis

My 5 yr. old got 2.5 hr.s watching star wars clone wars episdoes today before battery at 15% early warning...

If you phone provides an Infrastructure Hotspot then you are all set... If it provides AdHoc then follow my instructions over at Slatedroid...

Adhoc hotspot connection working DHCP/No static IPADDR required/edit files Once!

O.o Wow that is a lot but thank you. I may attempt this. Either way I plan on picking up a Tmobile Vibrant in the near future, this I hope will be better. Anyway, Thank God I found this website, all of my questions are being answered. The only that hasnt is the Ram issue. Is it upgradable or not? Also has anyone heard any firm reports of this device going to Froyo 2.2? And if the ram is upgradable, then it shouldnt be a problem to up grade to 3.0 when its released (suppose to be sometime this month)

Typically the actual RAM in these tablets is soldered to the system board and, thusly, not normally upgradeable.

Also, has anyone been able to establish a VPN connection from ANY of there android products? I know that Im having a hell of a time 1.6, but not sure how well it worked with 2.1 or 2.2. When i get my device I want to be able to establish the connection to my desktop at home.

Thanks for the info, but that sucks, that means this device wont be able to us android 3.0

Most likely not...

Still waiting on the release of a decent VPN client. The most recent rumor I've heard from Cisco is that they are finally developing a VPN client for Android but it won't be ready to the end of the year (At the earliest).

Yes, you can flash the latest 1014 Android 2.1 (w/Market) right over the CE version and really not loose anything as without tweaks CE doesn't even save settings on the tablet... Plenty of help for this specific tablet over on section devoted to it on Slatedroid

This link no longer works. Anyone know if it will? It had good instructions on how to update, I guess I should have did it then instead of waiting!

It's just down temporarily as was working earlier this morning... I think their server might be due for upgrade with all the load it's been getting as outages have been more frequent lately... just hope they have a good backup for chance it finally goes belly up and needs replacing as there is a Wealth of good info over there that would be a shame to loose...

PS. Latest version is now 1020 with isn't too much different but a bit of a cleanup from 1014 with added lock screen function...
