Zenithink ZT-180 1GHz 10" tablet

Somebody just pointed out to me an application called JoikuSpot for your cell. This should enable you to tether over wifi. Maybe you can give that a try? (And report back if it works ;) )

I was able to access the app wifi tether with my DInc and it works. It's just my zt-180 won't recognize it. Also a friend with a different rooted htc tried with his phone and it wouldn't notice his either, but it noticed the legit moto droid. Could there be something that I'm missing like a setting or something?

Hi, I'm looking at getting a Zenithink ZT-180 as well but would like to know if anyone has managed to use a 3G modem for wireless internet? My plan is while travelling being able to have net access but have read that getting wireless via 3g modem is almost impossible.

Can anyone confirm that it works?

Cheers :)

I believe I read that the ZT-180 supports several 3G modems but none of them were modems currently in use in the U.S.

Is there a way to download movies directly to tis device?

Easiest way I've found is to transfer the SD card from the tablet to your computer, copy the movie to the computer, and return the SD card to the tablet. If your movies were web-enabled you could also download them using the web client on the tablet.

Hi!
I would like to know if tablets based on ZT-180 and Android 2.1 support several ebook format as PDFs, Mobi, ePub, etc.
Anybody knows if wi-fi works well in Latin America (Argentina)?

Thanks!

There are several ebook apps available in the various markets. Specific eBook support will be dependent on which app is installed on the tablet.

I to am trying to do the same thing. I tried to wifi tether with my DInc and my tablet didn't notice it. I had a friend with the moto droid with wifi hotspot and my tablet noticed his wifi connection. So, it's possible somehow. I just haven't been able to do it for free. My laptop noticed the wifi tether just not my tablet.

Many especially older phones only provide Adhoc Network for tethering and by default the tablet only supports Infrastructure networks (basic access point)... see my thread over on Slatedroid for how the ZT-180 can be made to work with AdHoc tethers;

Adhoc hotspot connection working DHCP/No static IPADDR required/edit files Once!

I'm sorry but that might as well be greek. I don't understand that terminology. Can you give some step by step instructions?

Did you read the first post of that thread over on slatedroid where I put the example showing how to get this work? If so what part do you not understand and I can explain it...

Just realized a question that I didn't ask before. When you update these devices with the new firmware, are they rooted at that point or have they been since purchase?

I believe the intent on the lastest versions was to include being 'root' as the superuser app is installed But it doesn't completely work as expected so I would suggest running 'Universal Androot' to get it to handle su requests as expected.

Hi there!

Just want to ask people who already got his tablet, is that true, that i heard: if you suspend this device, the battery will be exhausted in one day, mean there is no real suspend(hibernated, like on early pocket pc's) state? In other way can i suspend it, to have no battery draining, but don't want to wait the booting time on each power-up.
Or it was just an early software bug, which has been corrected now?
Sorry for my bad english, but this will be a really impotant information, since i'll use this tablet as an e-book reader, and don't want to wait the full boot time every on power-on.
Thank you very much!

Correct there is no full suspend... only shut off backlight... at least so far...

Guys,
I have been reading this forum and I am incline to purchase the ZT-180 and I want a honest opinion. What I am looking in a tablet is the ability to write/read documents(word)/spreadsheet(excel), use as e-book reader, internet and eventually watch Youtube. I am not looking to play games and or watch movies.
What I need to know is:
- Is this tablet come with any kind of office?
- Is this tablet come with a good ebook reader?
- Can you watch Youtube(I am asking because some people after watched, their tablet crashed)?
- Is the latest firmware stable for my purpose or is there a good firmware that will provide me what I need?
- is the wireless really bad?
- Can anyone tell me a good and trusted seller?

Appreciated any info. Thank you all for make this forum very useful. Naysses.

- Is this tablet come with a good ebook reader?
In my experience, I had to use several different readers to cover all of the formats. There is the Wordplayer app, that will connect to a computer that is running the Calibre program. Calibre can convert ebooks to different formats.
- Is the latest firmware stable for my purpose or is there a good firmware that will provide me what I need?
It seems to be (1020 firmware)
- is the wireless really bad?
I never had problems with the wireless, no matter what version of the firmware I used.
- Can anyone tell me a good and trusted seller?
If you are in the USA, I would buy from a USA seller. Otherwise customs may seize it at the border. There are two:

Flat Computing
Zenithink.us

I cannot vouch for either of these, as I didn't purchase from them. I did have my tablet seized by customs, that is why my warning.

Does anybody knows why Flat Computing use the name of Flatpad A-10?
Is it the same?
Does anybody bought for them?

They just call it that to try and make it sound like an a original device from them
Yes, the seller of mine called it the WiiPad NeNo.

If you are not in the USA, there is no reason to buy from a US seller. Because of the recent events involving bombs in printers, I bet that U.S. Customs will get even stricter.

That's the first I heard that happening, crazy. Either way I'm buying from the usa anyway, I'm in Oklahoma

Craig

Also, why is everyone advertising that this device is capable of 3D games? Does anyone have a link with a video review of 3D games being played on this device? Please help, thanks

@Wibbla,

I looked on the site, and its been removed, but you can always tell by the specs. Check out Wirelession Electronics Ltd. and match the specs up. This is an original, but just most companies they just put their name on it.

Very odd that link not working try this = Android ePad/aPad 10" Touch Tablet Notebook - UK Seller on eBay (end time 08-Nov-10 18:09:41 GMT)

It dont say much about spec i have emailed the seller he has good rating 100% so hopefully it is..
