Zenithink ZT-180 1GHz 10" tablet

Everytime I plug my Zenitlink into my computer, a blue screen comes up saying the computer became unstable and it lists one of the programs I downlaoded with 1030 upgrade....I cannot get the upgrade because I cannot plug it into my computer otherwise it crashes. Is there anyway around this crashing issue? I have Windows XP
 
I bought mine on ebay from chenshengtrading1981. 100% positive feedback. it took only 7 days. I got the leather case/keyboard with it. It was a fast, smooth transaction. The build date was 10/30. You tube and market work great. So far it has far exceeded my expectations. :D

Did it have any papers with it that said it was certified for importing into the USA? They would have been on the outside of the package, with a bill of material.

Also, does it have a sticker on the back, with the FCC certification number?

These are the things that U.S.Customs looks for. If they are missing, then your tablet may get seized. If you are missing these things, and it didn't get seized, count yourself as lucky.
 
What is this "TXPower hack" on zt-180 that I have been found in different forum but no link or explanation how to do it?

The FCC numbers are there and there is customs stuff on the box but I do not understand what it is?

It is to reduce the power setting for the wireless module, from 100% to 20%. It was found that this reduced the power consumption of the wireless, and made it much cooler and more stable.

I think that it is already included in the newer firmware. You can check by looking at this file:

/system/etc/Wireless/RT2870STA/RT2879STA.dat

Open to read as a text file, and check if line 12 says this:

Code: 
TxPower=20
Then you already have the fix.

It is good to hear that some sellers are doing it right.

Is there any way that you could send me copies of the documents? When I got my tablet seized, I didn't have a clue what documents I needed to submit. I bumbled my way through it, and $100 later (customs fee) I had my tablet.

I would really like to be able to buy more stuff from China, but not if it will get seized by customs. Knowing what needs to be sent will help me and others.

I wrote a letter to Zenithink.com and spoke to there Driver Engineers asking how it looked for Android 2.2 to be on this tablet, and the possibility of 2.3 being next. Here is the response.

If Android 2.3 release,we will check how many features added in 2.3,evaluating how many work will do. Android 2.2 is work in our board some weeks ago.because we compare 2.2 and 2.1,the biggest feature is add adobe flash 10.1,and we haven't had ability to develop flash component(adobe also not release to small company),so well halt it.without flash,there is few different between 2.2 and 2.3 by view of user.

Is there any other fixes that could make it better? Software side of course

This is a BIG mistake by them... as Yes, Flash would be Great, BUT the big win is 2.2 JIT enable for everthing Else!!! Guess after all these months concentrating on ZT-180 Tab, they will go to my kids for what they do well, as in playing .avi video and I'll move on...
 
wifi sucks.My htc hd2 has a good signal.but the zenithink has no signal upstairs.i hope zinthink can make a working android 2.2 on it whit flash soon.

So i think its good for the kids.better play whit my htc hd2 whit android on it.
 
Does anyone know how to make this table play videos onto a tv?

I haven't found any usb to component cables or anything liek that but I have found a couple of wireless ones that run $100+ and the run on windows xp or higher.

One room is component cables (red, yellow, white) , the other room I got covered.

Not a stupid question... there are So many Look alikes... Yes this is an original ZT-180... and good price considering the add case w/keyboard which is identical to the one I have... all you need besides this is micro SDcard/TF and your set to go... and a Windows 32bit PC to flash latest (1030) firmware on it and you're set to go...

I've seen mixed reviews over the last 6 months for the seller... I bought my Wits there without issue but I haven't needed any ssupport or service so can't comment there...
 
hya i'm new to the zenithink and don't know alot about how to use it, can you please help me set it up step by step, from firmware to superuser and break it all down so i understand. i really am stuck thanks :) my gmail is signum4147@gmail.com any info would be greatful.
 
Ubernoob question Does any one knows where to set the language its on spanisch now, i want to change it in english but i dont understand spanish
