Zenithink ZT-180 1GHz 10" tablet

Any reason why people still buying Android 2.1 , when 2.2 is already available for this tablet?
I ordered ZT-180 android v.2.2..waiting to receive.

There are two different models available, one has 256MB of memory and is running 2.1 the other has 512MB of memory and is running 2.2. You need to look closely at what you are getting.

The seller claims it will take 3g. but I will need a 3g usb modem. Can anyone give me a link to a suitable modem? Has anyone actually got 3g running on their epad.
 
@billmelbourne will your phone do peer to per tethering if so just tether to the pad. I have a Droid X and use the wireless tether all the time works great. If your phone doesn't support it you can always go Verizon and get there MiFi
 
My phone can't do trthering untill I get the update and Verizon is mainly American based, but your reply has started me thinking about stuff that is avilable here.

Have you thought about rooting your phone and just putting a rom that would allow you to tether? it would save you money because you dont have to pay for another data plan just something to think about
 
Can I use my iphone to tether with my ZT180. Also how do I get 3d ddesk top on it. Im a complete newbie with epads I have an Iphone and an Ipad jailbroken to death. just trying to this sorted for my son. any help is much appreciated.

I was given one of these a couple of days ago, it's actually pretty good, battery life seems to be ok, I've been running it non stop for 4hrs with 24% left.

The full sized USB dock is useless, I can get a mouse to work but not a flash drive

One think I was wondering is how hard is it to root these things? I haven't bothered doing my phone because it works perfectly well without rooting.

I have the 2.2 version but flash won't install, I think that's a processor problem.

All in all if you can get it cheap enough it's makes a pretty good sofa surfer, video works well but the screen is nowhere near as responsive at my Desire.

Is your Iphone 3.0 or newer? if so yes it will do peer to peer no problem also if your tablet is 2.1 you can follow these steps to change the adhoc wpa_supplicant.conf.Tether your Android tablet with your mobile phone (by alessio2)

As far as the usb goes you have to look in Udisk I use mine all the time to watch movies move apk file from my phone to my ZT 180 all the time I rooted mine but it seemed to be a bit tuffer than most because of the build I guess but for most people it easy download or androot one click root and superuser apk.install both apps then open androot choose not to install superuser and tap root it that easy

I went back and tried again but Udrive was still empty. Brainwave formatted the flash drive to FAT32 instead of NTFS and bingo it worked a treat.

hey guys im new here, just got my zt 180 and im having a problem

when i turn it on it shows the "epad" logo the the android character then "android_" and on the next flashing "android" logo it gets stuck and wont boot...ive been able to get it started once or twice.....its been having this problem since i took it out of the box yesterday. i have no idea what to do...and anyone walk me through something?

The 256MB sells cheaper and is not recommended for the 2.2 upgrade. I've got the 256MB and last week download the latest upgrade for the 2.1 via ibeau.net ( simpler than via zenithink.us). If your PC fails to connect to the ZT go to "localhost" and download Oscilloscope driver, yes it does work. My 8 year old grandaughter thinks its cool.
