If you're familiar with IT.

root is a the Linux equivalent of your Windows "Administrator account". Root allows you access to files you normally wouldn't be able to access. In this specific application(getting root access on an android phone). The uses are virtually unlimited. This will allow us to flash a custom recovery, custom ROMs, custom kernels, remove bloatware, overclock the processor, etc.

tl;dr It unlocks a shitload of features that the manufacture has locked out of the system.

Hmm... I almost understood that.

So rooting let's you remove OEM apps? If someone did answer me way back I missed it. What is root really good for?
Administrative control over your phone. Control which apps are system apps. Control which apps can communicate with the interwebs. Modify the hosts file for ad blocking. Things like that off the top of my head.

The main purpose of this script is to use ditycow exploit to modify the boot.img and set selinux to permissive, that's not happening as the locked bootloader revert that change on boot so is not working
At what point did I ever say I was using Recowvery to gain root? I specifically said "my exploit". And again, you're wrong. Dirtycow has nothing to do with a locked bootloader. Which doesn't have dick to do with selinux. A locked bootloader just checks incoming sigs on zips, it does NOT check the integrity of your system partition. Dm-verity does. Which I've already disabled. If you want proof that I can modify system files, here's my build.prop acquired via 'cat /system/build.prop on a Z981 B14.

Learn what you're talking about before you speak.
