Also, any news on cloak and dagger, Jon?
Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.

Lol what a shit show. Open your permissions, browsers and eyes. Google and Facebook are F***-on guilty of raking more data from your phones, including keywords from your SMS databases, than ZTE would ever hope to get.
If anyone has followed just a little bit of Android news over the last few years, you'd be aware of ZTE and Huawei combing through system data. You're all victims of MANY billion dollar industries collecting and selling your personal info, stop singling ZTE out lol......
Victim? Class action lawsuit? IT'S A $100 FOOD STAMP PHONE!!! Go ahead and wait 10 years for your $5 settlement. Don't throw it away, they'll want proof...
The smart thing to do is sell your phone now while it's still worth $50, and relax knowing you passed this big international data conspiracy to some other unfortunate soul hahahahaha....
Seriously. OMFG if y'all are that worried about it go buy a BlackBerry lol
Now can we at least get back to somewhat off-topic discussion instead of this crap?
Typical pattern for this thread;
1. A person posts a promising new approach to obtaining root.
2. A couple of helpful people jump in and things start rolling.
3. Ten posts happen about the Bermuda Triangle being caused by ZTE, random discussion about space aliens, a couple LG Stylo fools show up to say "we have root, your phone is dumb", etc.
Repeat.
It's almost funny at this point.
It looks like some really interesting stuff is happening regarding temp root. Wishing you luck!
Same here. I don't even activate the PlayStore at all. Never plan to add my old Google account to this phone. I can just PureAPK or use APKUpdater for Apps.I don't use Facebook either. And if I had a rooted phone I would de-Google it as much as possoble, just like i did my last four phones. I dont even use my real personal data online. Anywhere.
My MPCS Z981 is still on B08. But keep making a list of what "funny" apps are being "added for our convenience".Here's another app made buy the same ZTE Chinese account I don't appreciate random Chinese software Downloading to my phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zm.grapredenvelope
Gotta wait for some bugs to be fixed & for Jon to hear back from Messi & others. Guess we just need to keep an eye out at the GitHub link.Also, any news on cloak and dagger, Jon?
Don't bother disabling ZTE apps, you're never going to truly get rid of spyware.Here's another app made buy the same ZTE Chinese account I don't appreciate random Chinese software Downloading to my phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zm.grapredenvelope
Same here. Not on my B08 phone. The only funny one I found was RootPA but I think that was discuss ages ago.Well I'm on bo8 and neither of them are installed on my phone
Bahaha. We have got to try until we conquer, ya know?! I found another one actually. Some one posted z981 info on android device registry and I find something new - mcregistry.Typical pattern for this thread;

Mcregistry is apart of mobicore which is what helps disable root exploits.No dev replied oh well I will post the link anyway on device info website but not the su script. Hopefully this info will help who wants to crack this phone:
https://androiddevice.info/submission/38515/show
I was talking about this:
MC_AUTH_TOKEN_PATH: /persist/rsu
It also has the package signature info.

I dont know of any script that uses efs partition to load su.
In other news we have over 15000 requests for root on Kingroot and are "In The Queue"
Doesn't kingroot apply multiple exploits from a cloud server? Anything that's freely found on a xda thread or Google search I'm sure they already know about right?
What was off-topic?Yes but we are veeerrrrrrrry far from the top of the list. I emailed KingRoot but they have not yet responded.
Also: Can you all chill out a wee bit and keep close to the topic? If this thread is shut down like the last one I fear the small chance we already have at root will disappear completely.
What was off-topic?
This may sound crazy but can you just temp root and install rooted apps that don't require reboot?I've gotten conflicting information on that. Some say they write the exploits, others say they just use preexisting exploits.
The problem with the app version and the Z981 is DM-Verity. Any system changes are reverted on reboot. As far as I know, you can't remove DM-Verity without first getting system rwx, or a recovery capable of editing system settings, neither of which we can do right now.
Not really. Unless someone has found a way to make temp roots stable, you'll panic before getting anything useful installed and rollingThis may sound crazy but can you just temp root and install rooted apps that don't require reboot?
IIRC after rooting you're forced to restart.This may sound crazy but can you just temp root and install rooted apps that don't require reboot?
I haven't been an active developer since gingerbread in the SDX-DEV days so don't kill the messenger if this is stupid. But would the kernel source help find an exploit? It's available at the ZTE open Source page now....

I think it's been available for a long time now. I could be mistaken though
Not sure what that is then, I'm on b20 with a 3.10 kernel versionWhy is it different though its a 3.18.X kernel don't we have a 3.10.X or does it not matter?
