Root ZTE ZMAX Pro (Z981) "off topic" root discussion

Metro has to make sure all their apps work with the update,its probably in testing phase
 
I don't see them updating this device due to the cost of it. Would be easier for them to just release a new device.

Huge difference.. one is a phone he wants to get which he wants to pay for it. The other is one he doesn't need or want so why would he buy it? He is only helping us with root. I don't see why that is not right.

It's not that he can't afford it. He just doesn't want to pay for it out of his own pocket for something he doesn't want in the first place.

I agree. Messi never said he can't afford or want the xmax. He is just a person who like to help other people rooting their devices. He has no reason to buy it with his own money.

Even if he can't root the device at the end I will appreciate what he has done for us anyways.

AND don't forget Zmax pro is VR capable the other one isn't AND bigger screen AND cheaper. LOL. I am just more than anything reminding myself why I bought this phone in the first place and keeping it, in spite of.......

But kinda felt better when I read on xda how many people have screen flickers on their over priced pixel too. Now If I bought that one which I know I won't. OVer price anything is not my cup of tea...

I will definitely return it an a heartbeat. If I payed my hard earned $500(?) for a freaking phone, it better not give me bugs of ANY kind. Exclamation point.

Well I don't see any bugs or any problem in my device. In fact, I just bought it as a temporary phone, but after I started using it, I was impressed how It never gets frozen or hot. The only thing that is bothering me right now is not been able to root it. If I can root it I will keep it, but if not I will probably replace it with another rootable one.

I understand that part. But have u tried it out on this particular device?

Cause this looks like it may not happen.. and that's too bad my Zmax has been perfection.. but even if this does get rooted, there will be ZERO development for it..

Then what's the point to root it? if you can't develop anything anyway? Doesn't make any sense.
 
Can't Believe no root yet. Come on Nerds. I need to be able to use my Ps3 controller on this phone. I don't want to wait for an OTG cable in the mail and don't feel like making one either. Pfft

I just bought an otg type c plug and an otg type c cable to otg my ps3 sixaxis. It did not work. I couldn't even plug in my mouse or keyboard. It just plainly did not power them up or even see them at all.

Owned a Zmax Pro.. No.. for me it's still a great phone better everything than the Stylo 2 Plus for sure if you got a properly built one.
