Root ZTE ZMAX Pro (Z981) "off topic" root discussion

Someone please help. I installed glance plus on my zmp and it make it hard to unlock the screen, so I try to uninstall it and it take me to permission settings. But when I try to turn it off as a device administrator settings force closes on me every time I can't get rid of this app

I know why you won't buy zmax pro. Too many bugs right? I don't blame you. I am stuck with this phone though coz it is the cheapest I can find with VR capability and big screen. And right now, those 3 things is all i want on a phone. For the most part, it does what I ALWAYS use for a phone, navigation while listening to music.

And to nino, I WISH I work for ZTE. Because there will be an update by NOW or long time ago, if I did.
"cheapest I can find with VR capability", and that is what has brought my life to this phone, besides needing a better battery than Nexus 5X (which has like 3.5hrs screen on time)

I just tried that it let me disable it in settings but it's still on I got it turned off as device addmin but it's still on wtf and when I go to uninstall settings crashes. ???? And I tried to install the paid version over top of it no luck. It kills my battery and makes my screen difficult to unlock. Only thing I got left is a reset but I dont want to do that

Okay which of you called me on Sunday and cursed me out -_-;;

It seems like one guy made phone calls inside our hangout chatting room (i also got phone call 5am..) and someone else got really pissed and called me :mad::mad:

I caved in and quit today; Entirely actually, today I retired from Android after 10 years of loyalty and picked up an iPhone from a Metro store. Kinda excited to try a new ecosystem really.

I put my Zmax Pro on Swappa too if anyone is interested: https://swappa.com/listing/WPU399

Best of luck to you all

If you're not sure what something is before disabling use this for reference.

This phone is full of random glitches

I agree. I've used the phone for less than 24hrs, I've gotten the corrupt screen flash, flashlight wouldn't turn on the first try, and screenshot animation sometimes lags, even the sound lags, like a N64 emu on a SD 2xx based phone. Fun times =).

There's supposed to be a couple of updates soon that could really improve performance and fix lots of issues

Best buy has Huawei honor 5x on sale . I picked up because of root. I have to say it's my first Huawei device and I'm impressed. Went to the manufacturer website to unlock bootloader it was so easy . Root,Xposed with lienage OS or cm13. The Zmp was a really nice phone IMO but I can't deal with it being so locked down. Never again ZTE

Question, does this mean the ZMAX pro has OTG Support?

No I don't think so. Word is OTG is disabled by ZTE because it really doesn't play well with the internals of this phone. It breaks it. Of none of us are 100% because we don't have root to test. It could be BS
I see thank you for the reply. I'm so frustrated they locking down on root. Say, do u think it's a good idea if us, MetroPCS customer, I'm assuming you are, bombard them about unlocking the bootloader would it help

Has there been any updates so far on the rooting of the ZTE ZMax, I would read the original thread, but it's too lengthy and I hardly understand it.
