Root ZV6 V.5 Stock Mod - Debloated - No Gapps

Just wanted to let everyone know I flashed back to an older version of the Uno kernel I believe version 3.1 which supported swap and I am amazed at the performance of the phone now. There's almost no lag anywhere and starting up and switching between big apps and multitasking is extremely quick I'm just blown away by what 500mb of swap has changed feels like a new phone

What did you use for swap/how did you configure it? Do you have any other mods installed? I just installed 3.1 and it bricked. Didn't even get fully booted. :(
 
Guessing you partitioned your SD card? With something like that you'd better be using a class 10 @bg4m3r, did you use flashify to install the kernel? It would work fine that way..

So, how do you activate QTorch? I can't figure it out. I love the multitasking, this really adds value and purpose to this phone, and it's so snappy, with just the stock kernel! Not sure how you did it. Best rom ever.

Do you even know what you're responding to? No, my SD card is not partitioned, and yes, it is class 10. None of that is even relevant since I installed swap to the system partition. Yes, I flashed the kernel with flashify as I have every time I've flashed a kernel. The problem wasn't with the kernel. It was with enabling swap. I'm trying to figure out if it was my setup, or a conflict with another mod.
 
Progress report : Full LG G3 Fm Radio Ported heheheheheeeee ;)

And full drop down transparency without needing g2 tweaksbox (still tweaking but only one button left as you can see by screen which os thr settings button. One small sizing issue with fm radio is that while in portrait mode bottom ui is white but think i can resize to fix that. Stuff coming soon...

The carrier label at bottom of drop down is also transparent modded like original.
 
Just got the widget set for fm radio working in Xperia launcher. Cant redo the sizing for main app but it looks great in landscape mode. Portait issues are no deal breaker for me and it picks up stations better than other fm radio app.

Edit: Oddly enough its a dpi issue. Switched back to standard 240 dpi and the ui resolved. Odd with original device being xx/xxxdpi and not hdpi..

QTorch is in the task bar, pull it down and in the QSlide menu or whatever it's called it'll say qtorch, though u might have to scoll over to find it.

Unfortunately not by me. LG encrypts their ir blaster. This topic has been discussed across multiple LG devices with the crap version we have. I would call it a sh#t version except I would be moderated if I did so. In future versions of the rom this bloatware,adware will be removed. Users can reinstall it from a flash zip if they wish. Why do I call it adware? Well by its very nature it is a crippled demo app. LG: Want the full version? Buy our super duper latest device! :D No thanks. But I will be removing it as an alternative.
 
When I do something in an app that opens another app, it automatically goes to split view. I would prefer it to use the swipe aside or just switch apps. Is there anyway to control that without disabling split view?

EDIT: I got it to stop using the split view, but it would still be nice if it used the swipe aside...

Yeah to stop auto split view toggle it off in settings multitasking. To use slide aside just enable it then if you have an app open and want to get it back fast just three finger swipe to the left and it will hold it there. To get it back just three finger swipe back to the right.


OK on to other issues (surprised no one encountered this yet or if I have a bug in current build..) stock messaging crashes when adding an attachment in Xperia mod but not in Stock mod. Now my current build of Xperia vs stock has file manager stock removed along with qmemo. But those are the only differences I have been able to track down. Not sure if stock messenger has some sort of dependency to either of those two that would cause it to crash. My question goes out to anyone on current Xperia upload using stock messenger if you have encountered any crash when trying to attach a file for mms. Need others to replicate my current setup by removing stock file manager and try an mms and then try it with qmemo removed. Trying to figure out if the issue has always been there or due to recent changes I have made on my end.

Crap version? It works with every TV and device I've encountered thus far. What exactly is the issue?
 
So I cleared everything and updated to the ZV6 V2 Xperia rom and I'm confused about the new 'split view' options in the settings. The unchecked option in the included screenshot, what does that do?

Edit: figured it out through searching online. If your not currently using dual windows and the current app triggers another app to open, split view will open that second app in dual windows. pretty cool feature

It only supports the major brands and any generics that happen to use the same codes. I guess a lot of people are having issues with it not working with their stuff. If you look at a G2 it supports nearly everything under the sun, and additional device types, like receivers and such.

I know... I would just like it to auto swipe when something triggers another app to be opened.

As for the messaging issue, I'm betting very few people use the stock app anyway, and those that do probably don't root either. :p

what kind of attachment? because i use the stock messaging and send attachments frequently and its never crashed on me.
 
I'm going to flash the Xperia mod with gapps tonight and I'll be upgrading her from zv5 so I'll flash the radio as well, is there anything I should tell her before doing this that may not work?
 
Ok I have rebuilt several roms zv6 based and still getting send mms issues with stock messenger. Never had this issue on zv5. When sending it just indefinitely states sending and never does. It could be a number of things including on my end. So trying to eliminate things. In the end it could be the zv6 update also,or bad apns...at this point I'm just unsure.

Well just sending any attachments. It gives the same symptoms a rom like cm might have if you didnt flash the apn fix. You can send sms but no mms. Now here are some things changed by me initally

Added uno kernel

Edited stock messenger with custom themes and that's it. Nothing xml wise,etc that might pose an issue.

Flashed back kernel to stock zv6 still have issue.

Tried putting back stock messenger unedited and issue still persists.

Cant find any apps that messenger may need as sa codependency that would explain failure

Have not ruled out issues with Virgin Mobile service. They suck so bad it could be them..

Going back to plain stock zv5 with original stock zv5 radio img to eliminate an issue in that area. Also to eliminate my own edit of apk as the issue.
 
Called Virgin Mobile. They CLAIM there is an outgoing data issue in my area...although for some reason I just have doubts about that. Their CS personnel are notorious liars who will tell you anything just to give you a reason for an issue. Did take advantage of their fibbing ways to get a free month so lol...anyway.. I will still see if its more than this supposed outgoing data issue.
 
No change in mms issue even with vanilla stock rom zv5 and zv5 radio. Looks like Virgin Mobile may be the issue here. Wont post an update until mms is working again though.
 
Does sprint spark not work with this ROM? I noticed on a stock V5 rom, I was getting upwards of 60+ mbit download. On here, it seems to cap off at 30 mbit.
