Root ZV6 V.5 Stock Mod - Debloated - No Gapps

Yeah, spark works. I get about 76 Mbit download depending on the speedtest server. It usually sticks around 25-30 mbit though. Downloading through steam seems to cap out at 3 MB/s which is great, but I'd love to see that speedtest speed.

Fyi- Mb and MB are not the same thing. 1Mb = 1/8MB, so 3MB/s = ~24Mb/s, right at the bottom of the range you said you generally get.

Speedtest results will show you ideal potential speeds because those servers are generally only being used by speedtests, so there's less traffic on them. Steam has a lot more traffic which means less available bandwidth per user. There may also be bandwidth management stuff going on in the stream app itself.

You can just go sideload the app. I use apkmirror (everything is verified safe), here's a link to Amazon Shopping:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/amazon...azon-shopping-6-0-2-100-android-apk-download/
If you use Pushbullet, you can subscribe to the app and get notifications when there's an update since it won't update from the store until it's marked compatible again.
Don't know what sudeload or pushbullet means but I've been stalking this particular site long enough now that I trust it so I'm just gonna go for it with your link....I'll let ya know how it goes since there is a good chance o_O I'll screw it up lol

Well sideload means download the app from a website and not google play, then install it from a file manager. You will get a prompt about installing apps from unknown sources, just check mark the box then try install again.

OK. I flashed the open gapps. CWM said install complete but I don't see a difference so not sure it worked. I did see a log file that warned me about duplicates. I didn't brick my phone (again) tho, yay me!

Open gapps is still going to say it's incompatible. You can try changing the dpi back to 240 (get textdroider from the play store). There's a small possibility that's the problem. If it still says no, then download it from the link I posted (you can also look for other apps on there).

Pushbullet is an app that you can use and subscribe to any apps you installed from apkmirror and get notified when an update is posted.

Yeah the log file is reporting files in place from stock gapps. I tend to leave those behind in case a user decides they want to go back to gapps. So support is in the rom. It isn't a must to have them in there but makes quick work for a cut n paste type reinstall of gapps.

Oohhhh ok, I do do that, just didn't know it had a name lol, thanks

Extract Lockscreen.apk hdpi folder. You can replace those in it with your own. If you want to decompile it you can edit xml entries to add more than the standard number the app displays as an option.

I know this obviously. I said downloading through steam caps out at that speed usually. Otherwise, I get a bit more speed. I've seen as much as 35 mbit downloading other big files like graphics drivers for example. Yeah, it depends on the source.

Sorry, your wording in the other post made it seem like you might not have been aware, which many people aren't. No offense intended.

So just to update you all. I have been waiting for this mms issue to resolve it self before posting anything new that might contain a busted mms app. As of yet I still cant send an mms attachment out to anyone. Not even to myself. It is occurring across roms regardless of ZV update or even non stock roms like SlimKat,even though Slimkat shows as sent visually. When long pressing to check message status it shows pending as status. Not sent. Pretty much hung up like stock. So I honestly think it comes down to some messed up crap with Virgin Mobile or even a botched ZV6 update by LG which has borked mms. Although the latter does not pan out completely. Because flashing back to ZV5 rom and ZV5 radio does not resolve the issue. So with all that occurring on my end I have decided to go ahead regardless of mms problems and get things moving again. As of now I have given new themes to the stock messenger app, lockscreen and home stock launcher apps that all match each other. In the process of themeing quick settings icons and finished up new signal and battery icons for system ui. Post a few screens of lockscreen choices and status bar icons.

A few more screens, this time the quick settings stuff. Long way to go but everything is pretty much there. Just a matter of alignment at this point as you can see with the settings icon being off center and to large. That one and the airplane mode icon set

Edit : got those done and added brightness icons..

My girl uses boost, so if I flash this everything will work except MMS? Have you tried 8sms with this ROM? It has helped me in a jam before when I couldn't get MMS to work on stock and CM

At least on my end mms just isn't working regardless of the rom I use. This or anything else. Others dont seem to be having the issue. While others reported sporadic mms function loss that returned. Virgin Mobile stated that my area was undergoing upgrades. So I dont know.

Hopefully virgin can get things straightened out for you, I have them as a carrier myself and in terms of android development I'm starting to see VM as the toughest carrier to deal with as far as apns goe etc...thanks for the response, much appreciated :)

Going to share this updated themed SystemUI with you all. It's got new signal, battery, quick settings and system notifications themed. You all can use it until I get a pack together with other changes. Just copy it over to system/priv-apps in recovery using file manager then reboot.

I tried 8SMS, Textra, and a few others. No dice. Its VM issue, I'm in Florida.
Hangouts was also not wanting to play right with SMS. I don't use it, but tried it anyway.

@Curtis1973 I hate they try to B.S. us with "We're upgading the system....blah, blah, blah". So they're upgrading the system across the country, that's business management at its finest.
