My guess is that Google's compatibility filter relies on metadata such as the sdk level and what the developer themselves declares as system requirements. So if the developer fills in the wrong information, or stops updating, the app gets flagged as incompatible and hence doesn't show up when searching using the Play Store app. I seriously doubt that Google actually test compatibility with every device, more likely just check whether the supplied compatibility data match the device in question.

I'm not a huge fan of Google, but I do think that developers have some responsibility here.

It's nothing like the standard "location service" icon that appears when an app is checking location, but a sphere with poles (magnet) and an orbit (satellite) could be something like that. Manufacturers can use their own icons, and I've never owned a Xiaomi.

Does it appear on the right or left side of the screen? The right is system icons on most phones, left is other apps.

Since the days of TouchWiz, Samsung has always had a sort of nature aesthetic to their phones, and still clings to this with their famous Over the Horizon ringtone. It's one of those little nuances that sold Samsung phones to me over the years since nature and skeuomorphism were my two favorites. Forest is probably just another remnant of the TouchWiz Nature UX era, like Over the Horizon. It means nothing so don't worry about it.

Many apps have weird names as part of their APK entry, which displays similary in apps manager. If you want to see weird, Facebook's full name has 'Katana' in it, even though the app has nothing to do with swords.

The only time I worry about an app is when the entry has some instance of 'cheetah' in it. Such as 'com.cheetah.batterydoctor.apk' Cheetah Mobile is infamous for being malware and gathering data they have no right to access.

number one is not always possible. Many SMS apps only allow you to block phone numbers, not email addresses, which are where most of these spam texts come from. Reporting messages via short code also won't work as the response will be a carrier request for the phone number, and since again, these are emails being sent to phone numbers via an email-to-text gateway, the email address in response just reproduces the same request for a phone number over and over again.

Best means of getting rid of these are 1), don't give your phone number on any online form, as many companies sell it to god knows where, always provide them a fake phone number. They don't have a legitimate reason for your personal phone number anyway. Many companies only correspond via email for things such as account and billing notifications, so the phone number is just sold to the largest bidder.

2), don't respond to them. Ultimately they're fishing for a response to confirm it's a live number, often just dialing out random numbers hoping for a response. Eventually, they cease.

Not sure why you're assuming that this actually a 'networking' matter. Electrical interference,a possible cause of that audio static, isn't going to travel via any kind of cellular or WiFi wireless signal from your phone to your PC but rather emitted by the phone's internal components. You can disable all the cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, ad-hoc services, etc. you want on your phone but that is likely not the actual source. Neither does an audio signal running through your PC traveling through any external network connectivity, on the PC's logic board are various sound processors that are then connected to some kind of audio output card/chip. That's the interface that's picking up whatever un-shielded electrical interference is apparently being emitted by your phone.

Those 30 odd apps are all of the apps which are capable of installing an apk. But none of them can do it unless you grant it the permission, which is the switch next to it. But you only need to grant one of them the permission.

So what you need to do is choose one of them that you want to give the permission to and tick the button for just that one. Then the next time you click on the apk the app you just selected will be able to install the apk (your clock app).

I just ticked the box for one file manager. Then when I want to install an app from an apk I just use that file manager, click on the apk and confirm that I want to install it. And if you don't want this in future, just remove the permission from that app (in my case that would be from the file manager).

Can your file manager put shortcuts to particular files or folders on the desktop? Most can, so you should be able to put a link to the top directory of the sd card there (removable card, not "sdcard" which is actually internal storage). I don't think it will matter what card you insert because the path to it is the same.

The android desktop is provided by an app called a launcher, and you don't have to use the one that came with the phone. In principle there might be one that does this sort of thing for you, but I've not met it if so (though to be fair I've not looked, because I'm the opposite and try to turn such things off on computers! )

Just for clarity, are you sure that your previous keyboard app was actually Gboard or just assuming it was? Seems odd to for a Google app like Gboard to be installed on a device that was never connected to a Google account given how Gboard's functionality is so tightly integrated to a user's Google account. There are numerous other keyboard apps that are also very versatile and not tied to Google's oversight.

To open and compile your Cordova project in Android Studio, you can follow these steps:

Why would the J1 Mini Prime and J2 Prime cameras be different? Because they are different phones. Indeed judging by their SoCs the J1 Mini is the lower-end of the 2, so not that surprising if the camera is lower end.

Actually most phones don't have a macro mode (my s21 will focus quite close, but it's not a separate mode and not a real macro). Butt hoping that the hardware supports a secret mode that the manufacturer's camera app doesn't activate is pretty optimistic.

I managed to fix this today on Android 12 by following the OP's steps without the reboot (but, also just rebooting the device fixes the issue, at least until it happens again, which is random).

To solve this issue follow this steps:
1) Go to Security & Fingerprint
2) Trust agents
3) Disable Smart Lock
4) Reboot your device
5) Enable Smart Lock

When it comes to personal laptops and PCs, using Windows in China usually means it's pirated, especially if one requires it to work in English. Which is something I prefer not to be dealing with. Apple Macbooks running MacOS are expensive, but the software they can use has served me well for 15 years now. My phone is currently a Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra, had it two years and still very happy with it.

Well. That is actually is pretty annoying. It only shows when 'schedule' is selected, not day/week/month (mine only showed something similar/a picture for the month heading) so I guess you could change the view. Google's gone animated cartoon-y for some stuff, ugh. I don't see a way to turn it off, just change views that hide it. That's why I don't use a lot of it, thankfully there are apps to install lol.

When I boot the emulator, I get the above log in aosp 12. I wanted to know where in the code this attribute(qemu.sf.fake_camera) was read from and sent from qemud service process to qemu-props process. I looked for it in the aosp code for a long time, but I couldn't find it. I would appreciate it very much if you have some knowledge of the simulator.

Did you tried unstalling it from destination device? if not then try it using enabling device's "unknown sources" option, then connect your device to computer via USB cable, open cmd and navigate to the ADB and run these adb install -r -d <path-to-apk-file>

if still that problem occurs you may need to re assign that apk file using android Studio or jarsigner

Its always concerning when a privilege process file comes to life.. Because of its ability over write things. Security processes being the primary concern. I see that as a problem. Where do we hide it ? Right in front of them! You have a ? Trusted process file that has privileges to overwrite the security processes that other PROCESSES cant. Personally I find that troubling. I would like to see it from lLINE ITEM boot just exactly how privileged it is.YEAH IM SURE ITS NOTHING!
