Music starts playing at times, same music everytime

I am also at lost with this, since I turned down the volume pretty much most of the time on my tablet... hmmm, so can you adjust the sound setting?
I found what I feel is the reason, I went into the clock app and shut off all alarms and the music stopped. I'm now going back in there and start to turn them on one at a time until I find the culprit. I also shut off notifications from the Gmail app which I don't use anyhow as it showed up some of the times the music played

Help Speedtest for an SSD?

When you're going to be recording 4K video, use your phone's internal storage. The USB interface as is will really limit your bandwidth speed, adding in an adapter device will only increase the loss.
If enough free space on your phone's internal storage is going to be a problem, use a microSD card instead. Just be sure it's a newer card that is the appropriate speed class. 4K recording will require some decent write speed to save to the storage media effectively. It's not so much how fast your SSD is, the limitation is in how it's connected to your phone:

Google Voice?

I use my Google Voice number for any situations where I don't want to use use my primary phone number -- i.e. ordering take-out, buying stuff online, etc. It's reliable and stable, and easy to manage through either the app or using a web browser on a computer or laptop.

But it is a Google product so at any time, even though it has a long established history, I won't be surprised if Google opts to kill it off or monetize it in some kind of annoying way. It does give me a very useful, secondary phone number but I'd be nervous about making it my main phone number.

Email Client for Android TV?

An Android TV isn't typically intended to be used as a makeshift device for 'office' tasks like emailing and such so it's not surprising there's no email apps available in your TV's Play Store app.
Does your TV model already have its own integral keyboard app? You'll need to install one if possible to do something as interactive as email exchanges. Otherwise, if there's already an existing web browser app you can just use that to access whichever email service you prefer, all the major email services -- Gmail, MS Outlook, Yahoo Mail, Proton, AOL, Juno, etc. -- have web interface sites.

Anybody get their Galaxy S23 Ultra yet?

I don't.. I'm sorry. I have not been to any vendors lately. Man I feel your pain. I once waited nearly a month for a phone that was backordered because of a screen change mid manufacture. HTC Droid Incredible. The waiting was unbearable!!! The wait was worth it when it finally arrived. I'm betting your wait will be worth it as well. I wish I was waiting for a S23. You are in for some serious fun.

Locked Phone Blues

Anybody need an unlocked Moto Pure in good shape?
I think you should keep it! Even if you really don't want a carrier, you might still be able to put Google Voice onto it and be able to make calls via wi-fi. Plus it's not just a phone, it's a handheld PC: You can run apps on it, play games, read e-books, browse the Internet, etc.

That said: If you're not keeping it, and if you don't want to sell it: I could take it off your hands. My dad could use a backup phone anyway. To be clear, I do not need it! It'd just be nice to have. If there's someone else who actulley needs it, you should give it to him instead of me.

no device specific forums anymore?

I agree with Pitcarver. I used the specific phone "forums" before I purchased a phone. I checked the "forums" of the phones I was interested in to see what issues they had before buying it. And after I had the phone, I used the "forum" as a first line of help. A Pixel 4 won't have the same problems as a Pixel 6 Pro. Putting them all together doesn't make sense. As far as keeping the antiquated phone's forums open is silly. Why not turn the forums to read only when the phones stop being updated &/or supported? Then, after an agreed amount of time, delete the old forums to save space. Or you could put all the "expired" phone's questions in one Expired Phones forum.

How to stop from announcing time of day

I did find a couple of settings - IIRC, something to do with accessibility and or gestures. I turned them off, as they seemed to be the kind of thing that could accidentally trigger things. [I lost track of exactly what I tried because of whatever the forum recently went through that kept me out of my account for a while, and a short term overload of other projects] I had as much of the voice stuff off from the beginning [as far as I knew], no bixby. The only apps on this device are what it came with, except for the Samsung player, and a playlist manager that I have never had problems with. I don't use it online either. I'll see what happens the next few times I'm in the situation....

Why does Verizon require my social security number?

Different carriers, like most businesses, rely upon their own levels of credit checking to confirm payment capability. Some are more invasive, some not so much.
This being a thread over a decade old, does any actually know if Verizon is or isn't still requiring a social security number? A lot of societal changes have occurred since the OP posted their query in 2012 and online privacy has become a bigger issue since that time.
