New phone suggestions Motorola

Seems there are not alot good phones that are new Motorola G power is supposed have a worse processor than the 2022 model. Currently have the Moto E6 but doesnt work with my headset because they made mic jack very cheaply and not tight enough.
Anyone have a G Power 2022 ? is it any good what other new phones are decent that are in same price range?
My sister has the same exact power, and she said it is worth all the extra money in the world, with help with me, I was able to turn off all her mods that sometimes does not used as much, and on her way on helping everything else, still you cannot go wrong with a Moto cell, I think she is okay with it, but the process power really sucks when the first few times I tried it out, she needs more training on to make it hers...

Anniversary

Congrats on 28 years.

Living together prior to marriage was just not heard of when my parents were dating and quite rare when I was dating. 50 years later it's not uncommon at all to test the winds before setting sail. I would think that a trial run to confirm compatibility should drastically decrease the short term marriages.
Amen, I also think that too, it is uncommon to test all the winds before setting sail, that is what I have been doing with my best friend, Mimi, who has been with me throughout thick and thin, she is my sister. :)

Android reboots when audio/video is played

I don't have the same phone, I have Android LG V20, but I was having all the same effects of my phone powering down and heating up really bad as soon as I started using Audio or Video plus Audio and it was rebooting due to it. The phone had an aftermarket battery in it called Taeozi. I come across this page and was just about to order a replacement motherboard for the phone, but thought hey let me try a few of the old batteries I had, both are expanding and I thought both were toast but I thought what the heck I grabbed them tossed the largest one in, another aftermarket battery, and turned it on and the problem is gone now. I originally had some code that was popping up and it wouldn't boot up, so I ordered that Taeozi, but now the code is gone, plus the rebooting/ crashing stopped. I'm not sure why but the battery was causing the operating system to reboot it seems due to whatever issues the battery was having.

Help No APN on Sprint version

Okay, so...
Nothing said above helped, so I reflashed my device on the Verizon version. Now I have a 4G icon on top, but it's greyed. Now I have an "Add APN" option, but it doesn help. Changes cannot be saved.
Any advices?)

It's very likely still disabled with the MSL. I believe to obtain the MSL unlock code for this device, you have to be a Sprint customer...

Good luck!!

S22 Ultra with Exynos has performance & display issues

This does not bode well for all those users in Europe who will be receiving their Exynos S22 Ultra devices from Samsung on their official launch day, today, 25th February...

The retail Galaxy S22 Ultra with Exynos has performance and display issues

"the only thing I can say is to hold off on purchasing the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra for now if you live in Europe, because as it stands right now, the Exynos 2200 Galaxy S22 Ultra is completely unusable as a daily driver. It’s incredibly laggy and the battery life is terrible, too. This isn’t even the first day, it’s the second, and even “calibration” shouldn’t cause it to only have 50 minutes of SOT with 67% left."

(Source... Adam Conway, Senior editor at XDA-Developers)

I have a feeling that the new mantra for the Exynos S22 Ultra devices will be...

"Hopefully there will be an update to fix this soon"

If Samsung are able to release an update to fix these and other issues, they need to do it quickly before their returns date ends.

I have a SnapDragon version and as of right now 67% battery after 90 min of SOT. So even with SnapDragon battery life is atrocious as far as I'm concerned. My iphone 13 Pro did drain like this. If the battery continues to be this bad I'll probably switch back when the Iphone 14 Pro Max is released. And just use my S22 Ultra as back up or something. Because If I use this phone for more than anything but basic things the battery just gets sucked down. And I've done most of the suggested battery settings. I was team Android S Series for a few generations before I had jumped to Iphone. I Had the S6, S7, S9. Then moved Iphone X, 11Pro, 13 Pro. But seems like jumping back into Android wasn't a great idea this time around. I really like this phone too. But the battery life is just way too short to live with as daily driver.

4XL Camera Stopped Working

Did you try booting into Safe Mode to see if the camera works there? If so, it could be another app interfering somehow.

Otherwise, there's the ever-so-slight chance that a factory reset might clear it up, but most likely you're facing a hardware problem and the phone would need to be repaired or replaced.

T-Mobile vs AT&T in 2022

My ol'lady has a carrier that uses Verizon towers.
But when we travel, I always bring my AT&T phone for 'just in case'.
When my wife and daughter decide to go on road trips they usually head to, California, utah, or Arizona and their T-Mobile service works fine.
Last month we went for a road trip to northern Nevada and she kept losing coverage with t mobile ( I connected her and the daughter to my Verizon hot spot) we also brought a long my Google Fi phone.
Eventually we got back into TMobile coverage.
So with Verizon, T-Mobile and Google Fi we are pretty much covered anywhere we go

It actually saved our rear ends when we were in southern Indiana and there was no Verizon coverage at all.
I had Sprint, and now T-Mobile, and neither of those work there either.
Only my AT&T would work.

We go there every year (The Boogie), so we need SOMETHING that works in case we have an issue.

Help Need to record calls from a (physical) VoIP Phone

The need for a system for recording telephone conversations of company employees is a big necessity for me. In my company, we use the VoIP service Mightycall. In principle, there are two options for recording conversations – one uses the built-in PBX functionality, the second uses an external system for recording telephone conversations (it does not depend on the PBX, is made by a third-party manufacturer and, as a rule, can be connected to almost any PBX). Which option to choose depends on the budget and the task.

SMB link from QR

Hi All,

I don't have a lot of experience with android, so I'll just outline what I'm trying to achieve, and what I've tried so far.

I work at a company that makes custom furniture, and we label every part individually.
The label contains a QRcode, I want to scan that code on my phone, and it should open a PDF on a local server.

When I (test) scan a Sharepoint-link this way, it brings me to the PDF perfectly, however, I cant use sharepoint links for this, as all files are automatically placed on this local server.

I think the QR-code should be
- smb://server/folder/filename.pdf
However, without 3rd party software it just opens the link like a textfile.

there are several apps that should add this functionality, but the problem so far is:
I can connect to the server in the app fine, but it still wont open de smb:// link
(smart File Manager/File Commander/Cx File Explorer)
I cannot connect to the server in the app, but it does open the smb:// link in the app.
(andSMB)

My question:
Is there a way to manually open all scanned QR-codes with a smb:// link in a certain app?

Thanks in advance!
Koen

Help Adjust GPU clocks manually?

oooops yeah you are right.....for your specific model. sorry i overlooked the model numbers.....my bad.

yeah until there is a custom rom or kernel......your solution might be the only one. i do not have your phone, but i know quite a bit about rooting and overclocking.

Sadly its a chinese model, so Lenovo seems to not want to release the kernel sources, without which a custom Kernel wont exist.
So Custom Roms are unlikely, too.

Oh well, the way i found may not be perfect, but at least it works!
Thank you for your help!

Android updates

Thanks for your reply. I don't keep ANY information about myself on my phone and I only use a couple apps and do no banking, I do all my important stuff on a Linux PC, which is frequently updated for free. I only visit websites that I trust.I really don't see how I could be a victim of Identity Theft, except for perhaps my phone number. As for bots, What could they do to me? I think I'll take my chances and stick with Pixel 3. Many people are saying it's a better phone than Pixel 6 anyway.

Help Transfer problem

My old phone is unable to stay on for a long time. so I quickly copy and paste all the
files in the phones to my pc. Just a simple connect usb cable to phone, copy
the files that are inside phone internal storage and then paste into my windows pc.

Now my old phone is faulty and unable to switch on, no longer able to use it.

1. Can I restore my new phone to have everything that was in the old phone by using smart switch or any other methods by connecting usb cable from pc to new phone? (note that the files inside pc is not made by smart switch, the files are just a simple copy (from the old phone) and paste (into pc)

2. How to restore the old phone sms messages history and contacts (from old phone files in pc) to my new phone?
.....

1 -- No you cannot at this point. You needed to use the Smart Switch utility to make a full backup of your old phone to your computer, and it's the data in that backup that will be used to transfer your user account from your old phone to the new phone. But there is an important caveat in that Samsung's Smart Switch service is primarily for Samsung devices. And it that covers most but not all Samsung models, and only a limited number of other manufacturers. Check 'Compatibility' for a listing:
https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/smart-switch
So there's some conditional factors involved and it would help clarify if you stated what is your old phone and your new phone, and which versions of Android they're running. But again, at this point, with your old phone now non-functional you can't use Smart Switch. At best you have to rely upon the backup you made and manually just restore what you can to your new phone. Keep in mind you're at a big disadvantage now and need to accept a lot of data loss now that your old phone is dead. Just drag-and-dropping files and things only pertained to the data visible and accessible via a file manager. There a a lot of things that are however stored within protected and restricted system-level directories, i.e. your text message database, phone call log history, etc. These are the kind of things a backup utility would have copied over, stuff you don't have direct access to.

2 -- As you've already stated, yes Smart Switch will include text messaging when you do a full backup. It's not quite as comprehensive and seamless as Apple's backup/restore service but Smart Switch is pretty good for the phone models it's compatible with. But now that your old phone is dead, it's very unlikely you'll be able to restore any of your text messaging history to your new phone. There is a very remote chance a recent history listing might be restorable if you log into your online carrier account but don't get your hopes up. Text messaging is not like email messaging where emails will be stored in online email servers hosted by your email provider, text messages are much more ephemeral and typically online retained by each carrier only as long as it takes to transfer them.
