Error message "failed to make temp file directory"

Keep us posted on what they do for you. Or if an update fixes the issue.
Hi, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all once more. I know people drop in here with problems never to be heard from again. Just to put a pin in this heres the update. The T-mobile Revv is just as you said a "get what you pay for device." I tweaked, I fussed I even tried the basically comical tech support. All with no joy on the file write issue. I came to a few conclusions, the T-mobile vir of 12 has a write permission issue. I took the phone to the local Corp store and with great difficulty feed them the phone and got a Samsung with credit for the Revv. The Samsung vir of android is way better, the hardware is better, my wife is happy, lesson learned. I found the reference post very helpful and even though I'm not as qualified to offer help as most of you are I will pay it forward by dropping in and offering any help I can here. You all gave me the info I needed to get past the wall of BS that Boost T- mobile feed me. We are thankful for your time.

Trouble since LG software update about 2 months ago

Having the TD Bank app set up to not use biometrics to log in does add to the mystery. And the actual source of this instability is still in question. Since this problem may or may not be tied directly to the lock screen, another thing to try is completely reset your lock screen options. Delete your lock screen settings or set them to their defaults, restart your phone, and then restore your lock screen options accordingly. Perhaps that update from a couple of months ago created some kind of corruption in a lock screen config file that only gets used in specific situations (i.e. some background process used by the TD Bank app), and that triggers this weird instability issue. But this is all just random guesses for the most part.
This is a definite, last resort suggestion but given the fingerprint reader sensor has apparently been messed up since you've had this phone, you might want to consider do a Factory Reset. But be sure you have safely backed up all your personal data and you have a record of your user name/passwords for the apps you use to access your different online services. A Factory Reset wipes your entire user account, and doing a complete, full restore can be a really arduous project. (Double check your backup data too, a lot of people make bad assumptions and lose precious files -- i.e. do not rely upon the Google backup and restore option in your Settings menu as a comprehensive backup utility, it only apples to Google apps and services data.)

Android device file

I will have a go myself tonight but my app will play small video files but I can't get it to play a 30min 2.1gb video file(mp3, 1080p)

Also found some image/video types don't seem to play, guess there away around it.

I will try this tutorial tonight as a starting point and see how I get on.

You can use directly the application of Android system to record video. My attention is not focused to develop application but to discover what kind of process are involved and in particular trying to discover why there isn't /dev/video* file and why video4linux is not installed in Pixel 3a. In addition knowing, video4linux is not installed how is possible that the Pixel 3a is able to record video? I think an other driver is used... What is the driver installed? And in case, what is device file used?

Soooo riddle me this..

does your phone not see them? this 404 error, where does it occur? in an app? do the hearing aids have an associated app?
It just took ages when it begun synching - I changed the password a few times, and boom, it was another profit on another doorway. To put it in layman's terms, I change the password, and watched it synch, took a spell or two, at the worst possible times of today, at the beach when set off this morning, so my hearing was just brutal again, when someone said it was speaking softly with me when climbing up a hill. Funny how people speak softly too, but when I got back my Mother was speaking, so I wonder if I forgot to change the wax guards, too bad they are around 1,500 miles away.

Help Corrupt OS, stuck in recovery, how to transfer files to PC?

just make nandroid backups more often......lol

let us know if a reset worked or not. like i said you might need to flash a firmware update. not sure how that is done for your phone.
I got LineageOS flashed correctly, then realized I had no GApps. Tried again, using OpenGApps instead of MindTheGapps, and it worked like a charm. The Lineage OS recovery is still the standard, I'll get to work on making TWRP the standard one when I've got the time, so I can make frequent backups like you recommended. Thanks once again for your quick assistance

Unable to activate wifi calling

What is 'wifi 6?' Maybe it's best I never know. The only 6 I'm familar with is 'IPv6' which caused me no end of issues with my wifi until I disabled it. I know many online protest people disabling IPv6 citing some doomsday scenario of 'running out of IP addresses' or some BS like that. But I do not care. I need working internet not wonky internet. Might be some of your issue though. How long have you had this router?

At work we still have AT&T U-Verse (don't tell AT&T, they think it's supposed to be dead or EOL!) and many valid websites redirect to dnserror search assist which is a router page that comes up when the local DNS server can't find the site in the database (getting worse each year).

I'd try setting up WiFi calling on another wifi network just to rule that out.
