Need help with hidden menu

You have texts in your call log? That's not something I've ever seen (and I've used every Android version since 2.1 apart from 6.0 which I skipped over). I guess this might be a carrier-specific software modification, or maybe something a particular manufacturer does, but it does make it harder to figure out what's happening.

But why would he be adding your name to an RCS chat with someone he doesn't want you to know you are chatting to? And if you have RCS you'd see the messages if he did that, whereas if you don't why would anything appear on your phone at all (unless the message app reverted to SMS, in which case you'd get the messages). Why do you think this is what's happening?
I want to move on but need proof to do so
No, you don't. If you want to move on that's enough.

Help What app notification icon is this?

I'm sorry for any confusion, but as a text-based AI developed by OpenAI, I don't have the capability to display or recognize images, including app notification icons. If you have a description or details about the icon, I might be able to help you identify it or provide information related to it. Alternatively, you can check your device's notification settings or consult the documentation of the specific app to identify its notification icon.

Can't play youtube videos on android box

Hi. So if you still have this problem u can (for the YouTube app) try clearing the app cache or uninstalling and reinstalling it. Also, check if your Android box's firmware is up-to-date. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to the manufacturer's support or exploring forums for your specific Android box model.
Thanks for this info! I was going to call onn electronics customer service because I have a similar issue and I didn't find the solution. But I'll try the suggested way out first. Again, it is better to learn from the experience of others.

The middle east

Here's something encouraging:

Excerpt from "eSIMs: How Gaza got Vital Connectivity during Communications Blackout" by Rabia Al:

The [Gaza Strip] communications breakdown left over 2 million people isolated, without any contact with each other and the outside world.
Mirna and her sister Yara El Helbawi were among activists around the world who were searching for ways to help restore communications for Palestinians in Gaza. [...] The Helbawi sisters then thought of roaming services. They started with two eSIMs bought from Europe and sent them to two people they knew in Gaza. “Once we confirmed it’s working, we started to call (to check) if some more people would like to get people connected through eSIMs,” Yara told Anadolu in a video call. In just 24 to 48 hours, the sisters received more than 2,000 eSIMs as donations, and they have so far been able to provide more than 1,000 to people in Gaza.

I'm embarrassed that we didn't think of that. But the important thing is: People out there have figured out how to help civilians, who are caught in the crossfire of this war, maintain their phone and internet lines. During a disaster (man-made or natural): Phone and internet lines are vital tools to save lives!

cycling with phone?

I cycle with my S21 Ultra. Samsung's health app works well with cycling though I only tried it a couple of times and prefer my on tracking time-distance. I use the phone to steam tunes while I'm riding and it's good insurance while on the road. There are many different phone holders for bikes. I purchased one that worked well. When I changed bikes earlier this year, I did not mount the phone holder. I like carrying it in my jersey pocket better. I don't need a heads up display to track my rides but it's a great alternative to those that are interested in tracking progress.

Help Can't use my phone. Help!

Does it have a system cache partition? Most modern Androids don't any more, but Samsung do stick with the "old school" approach in a few things. If it has you could try booting into recovery mode (will require pressing some keys while rebooting, there will be instructions on the web) and then seeing whether there is an option to clear the cache (not data, just cache). You lose nothing from trying that.

A factory reset (i.e. clearing data and cache) would fix this, but then you lose everything that isn't backed-up, so a last resort only.

You say you can access some things. I don't suppose it lets you open a file manager, but if it does you could see whether you can delete any large files.

Why can't apps be installed to the SD card?

Phones at a sensible price range don't have adequate storage for my liking.

Aren't SD cards made of the same stuff as onboard flash memory? SD, SSD, NVME, it's all the same really.

I use a fast Kingston in the phone, which I originally bought the fastest of for use in a high definition video camera.

If it wears out it wears out, they're cheap to replace. I don't keep only one copy of anything important. My phone is a temporary place. When I sort the photos from a holiday, I put them on the computer, which is backed up to two seperate external drives alternately, stored in seperate locations.

Phone not working

Maybe it is the SIM card failing? A missed call notice will come via a different channel from a voice call, so I wouldn't exclude the possibility that it's the SIM that's the issue. Failing SIM cards can work for a while after a restart and then drop out later.

You could test if you have another phone by using the SIM in that for a while - though I have known a failing SIM to work better or worse in one phone than another. But SIMs do fail, and I can't say for sure that this might not produce the symptoms you see.

Help Nokia C01 not charging.

I took it to a repair place this morning who tried a couple things and then told me it wasn't worth fixing and I was better off buying a new phone (I then went and bought another cheap prepaid, this time a Nokia C02 since that was easy to get hold of and cheap). Of course just a few minutes ago I randomly plugged the old C01 in and somehow as if by magic the phone started charging. I can't trust that its actually working working and wont fail at the wrong moment so I will keep using the C02 and leave the C01 in a drawer at this point.
