"Do not disturb" mode don't hide notification icons

Hadron, thank you so much for reply. It may be like temporary solution in my case.

What phone have you got? My phone (Android 13) has an option "hide notifications" in its Do Not Disturb settings - it's off by default, but you can turn it on. Does your phone not have that? In there there are options to hide status badges, or all notifications (these options are off by default).

I have already written in the first post: what phone i have. Ok, again. I have redmi 9 with OS Android 12. And also, yes, i have a such option "hide notification". But in the my Xiaomi view of the settings differs from other phones with same Android version. Moreover option for hiding badges and "do not disturb" are locating in the different places of the settings. As you can see on the screenshots, "hide notifications" suboption is locating in the "Sound & Vibration" setting option, but suboption related with badges locating in the "Notification & Control center" setting option( 2-nd screenshot ).

As test i tried to disallow notification badge for "Messages" app( 3-rd screenshot ) in the "Notification Badges" suboption. After that i turned "do not disturb" mode on. And then i sent SMS from other phone mode. BUT it didn't work, because i still could see "Messages" app icon on the top left corner of the phone screen. WTF ? I can't understand. This method should been working. But no.

I'm in such despair :(. I suspect i have no other choice excepting to buy another phone model e.g Samsung Galaxy.

little edit:

Leastwise method of hiding notifications the badges through "Notification Badges" suboption has working well with the Facebook app.

Help SD card works on phone and 1 tablet, not on 2 other tablets???

I had much the same problem: My Android 2 tablet couldn't read an SD card I wanted to use with it. So, seeing as the card had no data I cared about keeping, I formatted the card on my Android 2 tablet itself. Then, the card worked fine with all of my computers (and tablets/smartphones are computers).

Your situation is trickier. You do have data you care about on that SD card, so you can't just format it to make it work.

Southern Seasonings

I likely will the next time I'm needing some. However, if I'm ordering, I might get the jalapeno Slap Ya Mama. :) I wish they sold their spice in smaller shakers. That's a lot of spice if you don't like it. My son was telling my that he recently deviled some eggs with Slap Ya Mama. I have to have salt on my boiled eggs. I might have to give that a go.

New version adds numbers to icons

I've got the opposite. I'm a new user of Nova (not prime yet). I don't have new notification numbers on my icons and I would like that.
its called notification badges. go into the nova settings. easiest way is to long press on the homescreen. look for the cog wheel icon.....that is your nova settings. then scroll down to notification badges and select "numeric dots"

Voice activated camera shutter

That doesn't fit the bill for me. I need it to take the shot on command, like my phone does.
Why it isn't available on the tablet is a mystery to me.
cuz most people do not use tablets for photos or making videos. so it is probably not a popular enough feature to include it on a tablet.
I'll have a look-see.
let us know if there is one that works or not.

I have a jelly pro that wont come one its black face happend while charging how do i get it to come on

Anyone know what to do
What exactly is the problem? We're guessing that the screen went black, but is the phone powered on with a dead screen or is it just dead? What happens if you phone it? If you reboot it does the screen come back on, even temporarily (e.g. flashes up a logo when it starts and then goes black again)?

Are there any other signs of something wrong? In particular any physical distortion (screen or back bulging)?

A black screen can mean anything from corrupt system software to a damaged display to a dead battery to a completely and permanently dead phone. That's why I'm asking these questions, because we need more information to work out what you might be looking at.

Google Pixel Update - November 2023

I remember reading articles which would say "Samsung got this month's update out before Google!", but they never drew attention to the fact that only this year's flagship was in contention. By the time you are 2 years in you are getting the updates near the end of the month, and I won't be surprised if once the s24 is released the s21 gets them the following month.

Help Charging while powered off causes shutdown

If your device is shutting down when you try to charge it while it's powered off, there might be a few reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

1. **Check the Charger and Cable:** Ensure that you are using a compatible charger and cable. Using a low-quality or damaged charger and cable can cause charging issues.

2. **Inspect the Charging Port:** Inspect the charging port of your device for any dust, lint, or debris. Use a small, gentle brush or compressed air to clean out the port, ensuring there is a good connection between the charger and the device.

3. **Try a Different Outlet:** Sometimes, the problem might be with the power outlet. Try plugging the charger into a different outlet to see if the issue persists.

4. **Restart Your Device:** Before charging, turn on your device and then turn it off again. Sometimes, performing a soft reset can resolve temporary issues.

5. **Update Software:** Check if there are any software updates available for your device. Software glitches can sometimes cause charging problems, and updating your device's software might fix the issue.

6. **Perform a Hard Reset:** If restarting doesn't work, try performing a hard reset. This process varies between devices, so refer to your device's manual or official website for instructions on how to perform a hard reset.

7. **Check for Hardware Issues:** If the problem persists, there might be an underlying hardware issue. It could be a faulty battery, charging port, or other internal component. In this case, it's best to contact the device manufacturer or visit an authorized service center for professional assistance.

Remember, if your device is still under warranty, it's advisable to seek help from the manufacturer or authorized service provider to avoid voiding the warranty.

Hidden (I hope) night mode for Moto G Play camera

Should I just get a night vision apk? Would it even work if this 2021 doesn't have the technology? Do we have to call the $6,000,000 man?
On my Moto G Stylus, there's no special hardware. The Night Vision Mode holds the "shutter" open longer. Maybe the aperture gets wider, too.
There has to be at least a little light and you have to hold the camera very steady for quite a while for a photo in very low light. It does take good photos in very low light- assuming I hold the camera very still or prop my arm on something.

To Find Night Vision Mode:
On the Moto G Stylus that I have, it's found by opening the Camera app, then tapping the square that is made of 9 dots. It's under Photo Modes and has a icon that looks like a crescent moon.

Manual Mode:
Maybe, if your camera has a Manual Mode, you can pick settings to accomplish a night photo.

On the Moto G Stylus that I have, Manual Mode is found by opening the camera and looking at the icons in the top row when in Photo Mode. It is the one that looks like a file folder and has an "A" in it. Tap it & choose "Manual" from the drop-down.

The "A" turns in to an "M". Than you can set stuff from the list that appears on the right side.

I Hope This Is Helpful!

Please Enjoy Today,
Paul

WIFI or Provider's Network?

In the upper right you should see WiFi, cellular and battery icons - mine is showing silent mode, WiFi, cellular and battery in that order. If WiFi is off it won't show. If you're in airplane mode cellular won't show but a little airplane will, they change depending on what's turned on or off.

If you pull down twice from the top you should be able to see what WiFi network you're connected to.

Off topic I am afraid. This thread is about the Fold Beta update.

You could start a thread about this for your particular model and carrier or do a Google search as I am sure that you are not the first person to ask this. This is the Smartphones forum on here... Smartphones

[EDIT] I notice that the stable update for Android 14, One UI 6.0 is currently being rolled out so beta is now obsolete. See... https://www.androidpolice.com/samsung-galaxy-s23-stable-one-ui-6-update-live/

Off topic I am afraid. This thread is about the Fold Beta update.

Besides, I am U.K. based and Europe outlawed carrier locked phones years ago as, "being against consumer interests".
