Does this phone support HDMI output?

sadly it's just too slow to give a really good video out but I mean it works over Chromecast and there's some other applications that may make it work however I've never really had really great success with it looking great but it's possible to do but again you're limited to the 2.4 gigahertz band and so I can be an issue.

they have the OnePlus phones that are able to do all this stuff and More in our Flagship and are available for about $130 on eBay with just a slight little bit of screen burn-in and that's probably the best way to go as a dongle will cost you about 20 or 30 bucks and really it's not worth it when you can purchase a phone that does all of this out of the box

What the most stable ROM for Zte Zmax Pro

I've looked into this as well and basically for me I think I'm just going to go the routing option and then add applications as I'm going along.

it's still a great phone and has some great hardware specs but Laurel is moved on. the fact today you can get a phone with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of internal memory for around a couple hundred bucks or less and if you get something that's refurbished or used then it's around $100 that were Flagship phones just last year really does tell you a little bit about the value proposition of messing with the older Hardware.

from what I understand the Samsung S3 still has pretty good support and I still have one of those but then again I just kind of use it cuz I like the OLED display.

1 places like Walmart mobile and other value carriers no longer support the phone you know there's some things that are going on with it

Exit all apps and get to home screen.

Interesting. One of the ways I tried to exit was swipe up, to no avail. However, if my finger starts at the very bottom of the screen, that works. Also interesting is that a few days ago, if I were in settings, for example, I could tap down symbols and left symbols and back out of where-ever I was. Now the same apps (settings, texting, etc.) don't show those navigation helps. Oh, well, by trial and error, mostly error, I have another way to exit an app. I still hate it when I turn on the phone and immediately find myself in Spotify or some such, that I Did Not Choose! At least now I know a way to get out of it.

locking the screen when calling

Try using the proximity sensor.
It will turn the screen off during a call, but not lock it whenever the sensor is covered.

Most devices do this automatically if the sensor exists (I have seen only one modern device without one), but there are apps that can do this for you as well.

https://github.com/ssaqua/ProximityService/releases/download/v2.2.6/app-release.apk

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.ml.proximitysensorfix/
(Let me know about this one, I haven't tried it yet.)

Also able to do this and more is my favorite one of this type, WaveUp.

Help Where can I get the "official" or "original" replacement battery?

I just ordered 2 of them. Make sure the battery is made in 2020. You don't want a 4 year old Lithium Ion Battery going back in. Don't bother with the sticky 3M stuff if its for yourself. You will be getting a new one in a little over a year and some change anyways.

I think I Did order from Ebay. ANd I got 2 of them that say made in 2020. Thats still almost 2 years old at this point. But at elast its not from 2016. That's almost 6 years in a few months.

I think I got 2 of them for 10 bucks!
https://www.ebay.com/ipp/123618382353?transactionId=2437794682002&_trksid=p2047675.l48352

They are back up to 12 bucks again, each, but look at the date code:
s-l1600.jpg

I scored!

Runtime is still not as good as when new back in 2016 when I got the phone, but its not bad. At least it will drain to 3% without dying early. But I doubt any of these are going to be FULL capacity as they are still pushing 2 years at this point.

Batteries arrived with about 32% charge.

So far, seems to be doing pretty good. I have 23 hours of Standby on Battery saver mode selected at 73%. So not all bad. Wifi is on. For $5 bucks and free shipping, I could not complain about it really.

Seems they are holding up just fine. But they have only had a 3 charge cycles so far. And out f those, none of them at more then 50% Depth of discharge so far on mine.

My sons new ZTE, did at least one charge cycle so far, and its been rebooting for over 2 hours at one point, and seems to have lasted a while with the scree being on Full brightness most of the time. And I think it still had 20% in the tank when I put it on the charger. So they do seem to be good Batteries.

OEM is going to be a Bad idea at this point as ZTE no longer really supports the phone outside of the Big carriers.

I will have to test uder hard load, but I think they have at least 3000 to use. So I scored.

Look for the newest ones you can get. That's my advice.

FAILED (remote: unknown command) on LG G7 Thinq (bootloader)

ok so i found this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...y-g7-thinq-except-g710tm-with-photos.4168771/

i would try this instead of the other guide.....unless you have the g710 model
I believe I have a variant of the G710. I’m pretty sure everyone that has a G7 has . Anyways the model I have is at the bottom of the “getvar”.

Edit: I tried it, no dice.

Help What is the largest memory card this phone will take?

I can confirm 256 Gig cards work but they either have a Problem formatting as Internal storage, or just take a REALLY long time to go from 20% to 100% as it took well over 30 min then ended with a some kind of JAVA error displayed.

As Portable storage, no problem. So use that option.

You will have to use Windows or Linux to reformat as ChromeOS needs to be in developer mode to have that option to do so if it goofs up. Its also best to use the NON smart OS cards as they work better with ones unlike some of the Picky Sandisk ones that have their own OS on board the card that can play havoc on Android (but not always)

Phone works great with what I think was a Generic 256 card from aliExpress.

Weird that you can get a 1TB SD Card for about 30 bucks today on Amazon. (Its slower but still cheaper then a HDD stroage!)

Can’t connect to my Macbook

Or you could use a USB microSD card reader: remove the microSD card from the phone, stick it in the card reader, copy music to the card, replace the card in the phone. It's old school, but it still works.

I'm sure there are USB-C card readers out there, but if you have a recent Macbook I'm also sure you have USB C-to-A dongles lying around. ;)

BTW no need to worry about using Apple here: I'm typing this on a Macbook Pro. Personally I just use whichever tool is most appropriate for the job, which for me means a Macbook as my main computer but Android for my phones.

Zte restarting loop

So I think I found the problem. I think its either the charging port or the Power button. One thing that worked for me was to press the volume up button.

After doing that it came out of the boot loop.

I'm using the OEM charging cable and it's charging up just fine the port on the bottom is working okay and so far everything seems to be functioning is it supposed to.

initially there was quite a bit of debris and the charge port so I clean that off with some alcohol and some cotton swabs and now I'm going to go back in with a toothbrush but so far it's charging and it's not the bootloop I'm just waiting for it to go ahead and self update.

I'll give you guys updates and see or trying to find out what the problem is

UPDATE:

I have CONFRIMED:

1. USB 3.0 "Port" is indeed in need of replacement. A simple clean helped, but still, loose connection. I am going to order a new spare, or install one I have laying around.

2. The Volume Up Key did seem to fix the problem of getting OUT of the Boot Loop.

3. I was able to charge the Battery, put the SIM Card that came with the phone I purchased from EBAY and, had it up for over 2 hours no problems.

4. My son (Who Dropped his phone while on a bike ride) is now using the android Data function from one device (His tablet) to find the phone and swap info on his account. (Successful.)

5. Phone seems to be rebooting with Android Logo and doing updates

6. Dad saved the day again!

=========
How I got the problems fixed (I think crossing fingers)

A. Booted into Recovery Mode.
B. Used the wipe cache, option
C. Used the Reset Phone factory defaults option
D. Looked at logs.
E. had phone up just idling for a while to make sure it was working. (2 hours or so on USB-2 power bank and OEM charge cable)
F. restarted phone (While On charger)
G. Inserted SIM that came with device.
H. Connected to Home WiFi Networks
I. Let phone go through Welcome Screen arrow.

=============

Seems things are working again. The power buttons and volume buttons all seem to be working just fine. Only the USB seems to have a slight connection problem when the cable has any stress put on it.
My Other ZTE Zmax is Honey Badger about it and does not care even if HANGING from the USB Cable.

Seems like this one is just wore out and needs a new on put in there. So might as well just order a new Charge port.

Looks like all is well. Just make sure to Let go of the POWER switch as SOON as the DEVICE Enters its chime like the videos posted online, and you should be able to get into recovery mode, and reset the phone.

========

Under the logs it seems like this phone has been Hard reset a few times. About 4 from what I can count in the logs or more. So Seems there still might be some problem that might creep up. Still think it is the USB, or hardware. Hoping it was just a corrupt update or bad try at root.

Seems like I'm not getting any Messages from my kid, so seems all is good so far.

===========

Upon getting the phone I did software reset the phone. The Facebook account and google accounts were still active on the phone when I got it. SO erased all that data. (Of course)

The Stock battery was from 2016, so I ordered a 2020 battery so that should last at least a year or so before it needs a new one. I never bother with using the sticky tape. Just makes replacement harder down the line. But it has a New battery in it. (along with my second ZTE ZMAX Pro. (Battery could no longer supply current and died at less then 90% charge when taken off the charger. )

I'm ordering a new case for it right now. I have the old one, but will be putting it back in a case in the morning as screen and body are 9-10 with a few scratches and one drop, but its in a case so no one is going to see it when it arrives from AMAZON.

(Coverware case)
ZMAXPRO-AEG-GRY_1.jpg

These things really are TANKS!

Anyways, I hope this helps some of you reset your phones. Amazing these still go for over a $100 bucks used in okay condition in the use market. (software has not been updated in a while and ZTE dropped the phone from all support it seems from the end user. )

Glad its working so far! Hope the rest of you fair as well!

Video calls: no incoming audio when i talk

hi there everyone,

I got quite a big problem with my Xiaomi 9 SE. Whenever i call over internet - either Zoom or Whatsapp - incoming sound is blocked for as long as i make sound myself, and is still for a second or two after i stop making sound. So whenever i finish a sentence for example, and the other person responds to me right away, i can't hear the first 1 or 2 seconds of whatever he or she is saying. As you can imagine this is super annoying when you're trying to have a fluent and pleasant conversation ...

Anyone got a clue what's going on here?

Thanks in advance,

LangePier

ps unlike the topic title says, its not just with video calls, also with regular no-video calls over internet

How to unlock view get Move app to SD card option locked missing in android 5.1.1?

nope as stated on your thread. and rooting the tablet will depend on what model you have. why did i mention root? it is because in this thread link2sd has been mentioned. it pretty much does the same things as formatting the sd card as internal. head on over to xda to do some reading on link2sd. and while you are there see if your model can be rooted or not.
yeah looked at some stuff after I read your response and looks like the Tab A7 is not one of those models that allows this!

Antenna and headphones for Panasonic TH-42PZ85U

Your friend may be lucky that is has Analogue audio output as well as digital (2 sockets for left and right channels). You should be able to buy a cheap adapter cable for this (cheaper than the gold one in the article). I can't be certain it will work or your friend will get full volume but they're as advertised.

I use wired headphones on my TV at home and when away so a 3 meter headphone extension lead is an essential for about about $3+ or a dollar shop.

There will be a pc audio 3.5mm input socket that looks like a headphone jack.

Help How do I globally disable conversation / silent notifications?

Actually, the UI of iphone is absolutely horrid and unintuitive.

Of course you are nit supposed to be able to sort through your messages when the phone is locked- why bother even locking it if you could?
So, just anyone that can get hands on the device at any time can just see all your messages?

This is an obvious security flaw, qnd completely stupid.

What is the difficulty in unlocking the device to sort messages?
The lockscreen notifications are there so that you know that there are or are not messages- and in that case can make the decision to unlock and sort or not.

It has to be done on a per app basis because someone might not want notifications at all from certain apps on the lockscreen.

The vast majority of Android users prefer the great amount of customization available- and don't desire to be roped in to whatever some corporation decides you should have OUT OF THE BOX .

I spent all of 60 seconds with an iphone, and was ready to throw it into a wall.

And then to charge so much money yet give so little in value, it should be a crime.
