Old email addresses keep appearing

Try logging in via web browser to whatever service you're using, Gmail, Outlook, whatever, and edit your contact list there, that would seem to be the culprit.

When I log in using a web browser, the old address doesn't show and if I try to compost a message, it doesn't show as an option. But when I compose using the app on my phone, i get the old and new addresses.

Uptodown store app

The reason why I'm asking is because since I installed it it put all of my apps on that I had on my phone on up to down and I've been having issues with some apps like Gmail Google Evernote any other apps as well do not open

I would resist updating Google apps from UpToDown.
The reason is that some, if not many, Google apps on UpToDown can be in BETA versions, meaning that they are not yet readilly available from Google PlayStore and have not been fully tested.

I have run into issues with this before.

Update Google apps from Google.

Update everything else with UpToDown.

I generally resist updating Google apps at all anyway.
Usually they are only adding spyware and taking away features that I like, while adding more that I don't want.

The issue that you have is most likely caused by a version conflict between the different versions of Google apps that you have.

Just uninstall the uppdates, and then update them from Google or else do as I do and use the versions that are permanently on the device.

You cannot use the original version of Google Play Services, most likely.

Missing Firefox

Funny that you mention privacy, when the people in charge of the app are against that very thing (regardless of what they claim)- which is part of the contoversy with their political views.

Mozilla's ceo was forced out after a bunch of California Brownshirts poured over the lists of donars to a particular political campaign, trying to ruin the lives of anyone who dared to not group think. Then came their "update" which would not allow the Gab extension to run within Firefox. Their anti free speech goose stepping since is just noise, I've long since dumped them.

Help UMIDIGI S5 Pro: SIM not detected outside home base

Hi ArmageddonXZ. I decided to take up the Umidigi offer to replace the S5 Pro with the Bison (8GB RAM). Absolutely no problems with the Bison. Works perfectly in every location where the S5 Pro would not work at all, or had unreliable connectivity.

I also changed my Mobile Provider (in Australia).

The only shame about the Bison is that is a very heavy phone. It's probably great for people who are using the phone in rough environments outdoors, or drop their phone a lot. But, I'd prefer the phone to be lighter. Also the Bison has extra short cut buttons on both sides, which are probably useful in the long term, but very annoying in the short term.

But, the most important point: the Bison works reliably when I'm out of the house &, for me, that's the most important aspect to any mobile phone.

Help MMS Messages are being converted to emails!

Never had an iphoney before, maybe it's a setting on their end. Android for the longest time has always had issues with sending and receiving mms from crapple devices. If on your end the messaging app says it was sent, then it's had to be something on their end.

To verify this maybe try a different messaging app like Textra or Chomp and see if your mms texts will go thru or not.
Looks like I resolved the problem on my own. It seems as if when I transferred my messages from iPhone to Android, it created two different message logs for my moms email and phone number. I sent one to the phone number and it worked fine.

ES File Explorer Search Missing

MiXplorer Silver has a 4.8 rating, but only 10K downloads. Solid Explorer has a lower 4.4 rating, but 5.5M downloads. So it is less likely that Solid had its reviews rigged by paid users. Comparing the two, do you feel Solid is a better app, or about the same?

Reviews are like @$$h*/€s.
They stink and are full of.. well, stuff.
I would never trust them.

I used to review tons of apps on Google PlayStore, and many were deleted and even more were ignored.

You can still find some of them if you look hard enough, same avatar as here and name as well (puppykicker).

But any that were critical of Google apps, those are most likely gone.

modify existing apk for x86_64 support

You can get ARM powered Chromebooks. So I'm wondering if the existing app would work correctly on an ARM Chromebook, instead of an Intel x86 one?

I'm not a dev, so can't help you otherwise, with decompiling and modifying apps or whatever.

Thank You mikedt,
Am really wanting to use this Chromebook, because it has to have wifi ac capability for the drone plus the Chromebook has touchscreen very handy when 'in the field'.

Getting different logs when the same app has been run two times

Hi everyone,
I have a doubt w.r.t the log generation of an app (from logcat command-line tool).

Consider the following scenario: I have an apk that I ran two times (everytime, there is the fresh installation of the same apk) and have fetched the logs (from the logcat) for this app when the app has been run for the first 15 seconds (without any involvement of user activity).
I observed that logs generated for both the runs on the same device are different. Why the logs generated (in logcat) are different when the same apk (the same code) has been run two times in the same device? (Even if I run the same app on rebooting, then also the logs coming are different)
Run1Logs and Run2Logs (You can find the logs of an app when ran for two times)

My intution is that may be both the runs of the same apps are not happening in the same environment.
I have the following queries which I would like to know your views:
  • How to run the same app two times in the same environment in the Android device? If not same, then what are the things which we can try so that we are reaching close to getting similar environment?
  • How to know which tags are coming from Android SDK and which tags are coming from the Android App's developer code?
Thanks a lot for helping in my research journey.

App to read pdf files that always shows the lines or some lines with a line break (no scrolling)?

Not true at all.
Oops!

What PDF reader are you using?
These ones:

Try Document Viewer instead.
Many thanks for the link. Yes, already is installed (I guess it is this one the arrow points to), but does not work here obviously, does not open any pdf, just shows a white screen, no error message:

Cheap portable generator

I have a storage container outside of town on undeveloped land.

I spent $130 (retails for $223) on a huge marine battery (for RVs) and $70 on a solar panel with a controller.

I run 8 60w equivalent LEDs, a boombox, a cellphone charger or two, and still have some juice left over.

The power inverter I use (12 VDC to 110 VAC) is small, only 140w continuous.

I can run all the lights for about 8 hours or so during the day (the panel puts out about 30w).

I also connected an automotive fuse box to the battery, so that I can run 12 VDC if I want to.
Maybe I will put a car stereo in there.
I already have a CB out there, I just haven't really messed with it yet.

That is about as cheap as you can go and have anything useable as far as lights and radio.

I probably could have done better if I stayed at 12 VDC, but most of what I want to run is AC.

One thing, a fan like you use in the house puts a huge strain on a small system. Something about inductive motors and a modified sine wave inverter.
The fan just won't spin as fast as normal, it will get hot, and use more power than it should.

In such a case, it is probably much better to use 12 VDC fans and run them right off the battery, but they seem disappointing.

It is not right only having one large battery, either.
You are suppoaed to use multiple batteries, and 6VDC batteries at that- hooked up in series/parrallel combination.
This gives you more power (amps) at the same wattage.
But it also costs more, so I did what I could.

Samsung galaxy s6 help

Who is your current carrier?
If you go to their web site, unless it's a really small, independent carrier, they all have their recommended APN settings publicly posted.
Create a new APN entry and fill it with the indicated settings. Be sure to follow the exact same spelling and grammar (i.e. if not spaces are shown, don't just add your own). It's safer to create a new APN entry than editing an existing one, that way if you do make a mistake or there's a problem you can always go back. And when you do change the selected APN, reboot your phone. Changing the APN isn't going to happen on-the-fly, you need to reboot the phone so it gets reloaded into memory.
Did this problem just start occurring recently or has it been a long-standing issue?
Another issue to consider is your S6 is a six year old phone. That's not that old really but if your carrier did make some kind of change in its cellular network service that could have a secondary effect on your phone.

Android eleven.

Since its the previous update, vs. Brand newer one, the text has blended into the needed on-screen text as well as even the apps themselves, Quicksand, maybe that is the settings of the moto app, well yes it is, so the moto app has really scanned throughout the different apps as well as the settings too, a big plus... Okay you can read the technical work on the android sources url.
