I've stopped fixing broken things for now. Instead working on a new theme that will hopefully address ALL of our issues, including discoverability of our best content and new content and all that jazz.

So, I am currently working on a WEAK 8gb ram office computer and it obviously cannot handle Android Studio (running my apps, and opening the emulator, functioning fast is all a struggle)

I'm in a search for a new desktop and I don't want to make a mistake so here are some specs I found and I'm curious is they are any good

I have now been on this Android 14, One UI 6.0 beta for 5 days and I find it to be the most complete beta that I have ever tested. I have come across no major issues and the two 3rd party apps of mine that did not behave correctly were down to the app developers not having updated them for Android 14.

The lack of feedback and error reports on the Beta section of the Samsung Members app, (now just called Members), for beta would seem to bear this out.

One of the reasons I believe that the Fold5 beta is so complete is that the earlier 5 or 6 S23 betas have already done the heavy lifting prior to the Fold5 beta release.

I have seen stable roll-outs on firmware much less rounded and stable than this in the past. It would not surprise me if there was only one other or perhaps none, before a stable release is announced.

I just ordered a case, I will let you know how it's like tonight when I put it on.

Note that along with the protector comes a camera shield too. If this doesn't fit will be sure to note it.

So, I just looked in Samsung's music settings. I found a setting. Says "Allow external devices to start playback." I just turned that feature off. Then tried to make a test call. Music started immediately as soon as the phone started to ring. Thought for sure that would solve it at least for the Samsung music app. I just paused it again. I just got a notification that caused my Bluetooth headset to make a notification sound, which queued the music to start playing again.

Not looking to fuel the fire but mail.com is currently owned by a European group, although I can say from personal experience that their service got a whole lot better after the new owners took over many years ago.
I am happy with them and will continue to use the service.

Thank you for such an informative reply! I really appreciate you taking the time to look into it. I will check out gparted and see what I can accomplish with it. I've never heard of it before. I can confirm that the cards are not fake, well, three of them are true 64 gig, the fourth I can't be sure as it was brand new straight out of the package. I haven't permanently lost anything because it was full of music and videos that I already have backed up elsewhere. I'd like to understand what happened so I can prevent it from happening again. Anything I'm able to figure out I will post here to share with everyone. Thank you for the help!

Hahahah there will be none of that here, however if you do wish to support the game development we do have channels for that.

I know it's been a loooong time but I have one too, that's stuck on a screen showing a box with an arrow coming out of it, it won't go into recovery mode. It does go into download mode. Mine hung at movinand.bin with no error.

Face recognition on my smart phone is only used in a bank app login. But in the case of your wife, it must be set as an alternative to pin number for screen unlocking.

Does anyone remember Airpush in Android? that justifiably made me skeptical of anything that is outside of what I view as normal. I don't even use a smartphone much these days, so anything that's not music playing or a text message is outside normal for me. The more the government attempts to force me into a dystopian future, the more I retreat to the '50s way of life.

But that aside, I had similar issues trying to convince people that anything Cheetah Mobile made was garbage. That and task killers.

i have a standalone GPS when I need it, that doesn't need the internet for any of that. ETA is a built in feature. Garmin Nuvi from 2013. Out of date but still knows where it's going. Still finds the best route in Winston Salem to my girlfriend, when Google would often pick the worst, most dangerous highway of racers just to shave 3 minutes.

there are a lot of things where the internet just doesn't belong and has cloud-based issues like missing your ETA for a while. guarantee it was some server side bug. GPS doesn't need internet, one's toaster doesn't need wifi. we need to stop putting tech where tech doesn't belong. you shoud see what battery chargers have become. Too many points of failure where simplicity and minimalism actually fits better.

what phone do you have? what happened? do you have usb debugging turned on?

I often dealt with things like it more when I used a SIII, S4, and Note 3. Back then, these phones had amazing (well, to me at least) lock screen effects, water for the SIII, light for the S4, and so on. If you used a secure lock, those effects got disabled and it was just bland. So I often just used 'swipe' for unlock at the time. Unfortunately, having discovered that I somehow 'sent' random gibberish to contacts, to having 4 apps open on their own, to hearing my pocket going 'bwop bwop bwop' (back when they used nature touch sounds) as I moved around, I started using more secure lock screens. Today, those iconic effects are no longer done so you don't benefit any way from not using secure lock, visually or otherwise.

Unfortunately, if you use a standard candybar form factor phone today, you can still pocket-interact with music widgets on the lockscreen, pocket-launch camera, or enable torch and drain most of your battery before you catch it.

Wireless ADB permission gets reset after every reboot though. Also TakoStats (and Cool Tools although it requires root) offer the ability to show the app using the most CPU at any given moment in an overlay which has been quite helpful in my case to keep an eye on misbehaving processes and if reqd. terminate. The former in addition also shows GPU usage uniquely plus the frames being spit out by the GPU. Top in Termux is awkward to use as the processes list gets cut out in portrait mode.
