Weird sign in

That's an IPv6 Address. Similar to the XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX format of traditional IPv4 addresses. According to a reverse lookup (WHOIS) here's what I found out about that address:

Contacts Replicated Themselves & Can't Sync To Google

... It fixes temporarily when I remove my affected Google account from my phone, but then acts all corrupted again some days later.
To clarify, I re-add the google account just after removing it. And I've cleaned up where contacts are stored (eg device, this account, another account) and made a backup CSV file when it was in a good state. Replicates are typically only visible on my phone, but deleted contacts agfe t my google contacts throughout including as viewed on chrome on my laptop. The whole merge duplicates and other features do not fix the problem. Maybe temporary bandaid but when my 300 contacts become 5000 in replicates, merging up to 10 at a time every time it happens isn't practical.

One hint of magic - text adventure game

So I’ve developed my first android app now and I’m really curious about your feedback! The app is completely free to play, don’t worry.
Here’s the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=callandha.app

As I already mentioned in the headline, this is an interactive text adventure story app, so you can make your own choices to alter the course of the story.
I’ve orientated myself on certain other text adventure games and specifically added a lot of graphics and illustration, because that’s what I’m always missing when reading good text adventure story games and I believe it pulls the reader even deeper into the story and makes the characters more realistic.

Short overview of the story:
The story is about five girls, who discover supernatural abilities like a special bond to one of the four elements. Laurel, the protagonist, also is repeatingly dreaming about a certain boy, but every time she encounters him in the dreamworld, his face looks unfocused. One day, a shady figure appears in her dreams as well, watching her from the shadows and threatening her. Laurel also encounters four other girls in the real world, who seem to have supernatural abilities just like her, though some of her friends seem closer to the darkness than Laurel might have thought at first gaze. The following days, the five girls meet up regularly and eventually find the way to a hidden school that teaches magic. But not all is as well as it seems. Laurel keeps getting into bad accidents and someday, one of her friends suddenly disappears without a trace. Is this related to the creepy shadows, that lurk around the school? Are they somehow connected to the mysterious school director? The shadows are coming… Can you keep your friends safe from them?

The whole book is parted into six parts and I’ve just released the first part and I’m already working on the second part now. A second book is planned as well.

Greetings, Callandha

Now what - A20S has apparently stopped uploading to Photos

I wish I could. I hate bloatware but I guess it's impossible to get rid of without rooting. I did root a Kyocera Rise years ago but it took days and a pc, not to mention that the phone had a kinder, gentler operating system. I hate the look of the "app drawer" (or is there even such a thing) in Android 10.

And now you may begin to understand why I actually prefer a cheap, crappy device.

Anytime I have to personally deal with something 'better', it seems that I become infuriated, lmao.

Spam Capture

puppykickr &
Cao Van Thanh,

Not surprised at all that you are not aware of the International laws concerning this where it is $250K fine for each SPAM. A conviction in court, because of the seriousness of this crime is not negotiable (fine amount) nor appealable and you get 10% finders fee for each SPAM you submit that is successfully prosecuted.

The IISC does not publish to non-members because of the seriousness of all Cyber Security issues and therefore by not publicly posting, keeps the security measures only in the hands of members, who have to be vetted before becoming members.

There is supposed to be a public Q & A site coming soon in 2021, where only nonsensitive information will be published.

Oh! Keep asking around, to people you know in communications that know about "Back-Tracing" servers, that we might be able to use for gathering the complete info on SPAMMERs!

Cheers!

TBNK

PS

Since Spammers usually spoof the number, the info that is necessary to submit to a back-trace server is your number, their number (used even if spoofed), time of the call, and your service provider. Since the back-trace server can find the call with that info submitted it can back-trace from switch node to switch node until it finds the actual originator of the call, including their company/contact name, location (mailing address & email) and actual working phone number including their service provider information and their account number with that provider.

If you file an "Intent to Sue" with the service provider, they will drop the client, rather than face the penalties allowing this spammer to continue, will generate, since those fines can easily exceed $5M.

T

Spammers do not care about any such laws.

To think that any of these laws will have any positive effect is laughable.

To be honest, the vast majority of spam (in my experience) comes from a single portion of the world's population- one whose main goal at the moment is to disrupt, disturb, and finally destroy western society as much as possible.

I call it 'telephone terrorism', because that is exactly what it is.

Laws passed here have no relevence where these calls originate from.

The only way to force them to comply would be to bribe and/or overthrow the governments of such places.

Good luck with any of that.

Make Voice Command Call Without Connecting to the Internet

I noticed that multiple instances of Google play services are running in the background, consuming battery. Was hoping there might be a simple 3rd party app that will permit the user to use voice command to dial out. This will allow me to disable Google and Google Play Services.

I don't use voice command that often. Speed dial may be a better option to add a little more battery time between charge.
