AUB6 update for Global S21 series, bugfix & camera update

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra global, Exynos, owners will not notice much difference between the AUB3 February update and this latest, AUB6, release as the issues that it bugfixes, network, battery drain and overheating, only affected the S21 5G and S21+ global models.

So, two February updates in the space of just 8 days demonstrates Samsung's commitment to making their flagship S21 series the best they can be and stamping on any bad publicity that may affect future sales, globally.

Just checked and so far, as with the AUB3 update, this new release has rolled out first to worldwide S21 phone's running Samsung's stock, non carrier branded, firmware first and carrier branded firmwares will show up after the respective carriers have certified them.

New App: Google Meet - Secure Video Meetings (Version Varies with device)

I tried this app but honestly, I think there is still a lot of things that should be improved. Perhaps this application is just not suitable for large virtual conference companies. Our company holds a virtual conference every day, so we needed a powerful virtual streaming platform. And after a while, we found what we were looking for. In any case, I don't think Google Meet is a poor app, but they still need to fix something for conferences with a larger number of people. Are you completely satisfied with Google Meet?

Galaxy Buds Pro update AUB3 rolling out

Since most early adopters of the global, Exynos, S21 series of devices received a free set of Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, I thought it might be a good idea to announce their latest update, here.

The 3rd update for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro is rolling out update R190XXU0AUB3 which should benefit people like me that often use just one Bud for calls.

Not recognizing SD card files

After re-inserting and restarting again, the image files were recognized. Now Samsung also recognizes the music files as well, but my favorited songs and playlists are not appearing

I figured that you would lose that information.

To be honest, I gave up on playlists and favorites long ago.

Just too much trouble, and then they get deleted somehow or other.

It's just not worth the effort.
Shuffle play is my answer, and I can skip anything that I don't want to hear at the moment.

Did you try any of those apps, by chance?

There are some excellent things there.

Call Quality Horrible

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but it appears that you have answered your own question...

'If I connect a different pair of headphones, like my Bose QC35 the call is normal. And if I connect the Enco Free to another phone, like my moms iPhone, they also work fine.'

Sorry.

Anyway, I assume that you have tried unpairing and then starting all over with the headphones?

S21/+/Ultra hands-on reviews

This Amazon Buyer review "So much promise and anticipation only to be let down, not without advancements at a cost" has an interesting perspective:

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Elec...998UZKEXAA/dp/B08P54F6HB?th=1#customerReviews

IMHO, only reason to upgrade from S20+/Ultra or Note 20 Ultra to S21 Ultra is for the 10x telephoto (if you feel you could really use it.) The glass, display and battery life improvements are relatively minor on the S21 Ultra over those previous three models. And you end up losing SD card slot and getting a bulkier and heavier phone (for some that's good as "big is better more flashier" - for the rest of us, not.)

If you read the reviews for the S21 Ultra on the Amazon listing page, the first most popular review really says a lot. Notice he doesn't go into camera details. As the bottom line is, unless you absolutely are starving for a 10X optical zoom, the S21 Ultra is a waste of money coming from the S20 Plus/Ultra. You'd be better off getting a Note 20 Ultra that has 5X optical zoom, SD card slot and big 6.9" screen rather than getting the S21 Ultra.

Some excerpts from the Amazon Review:

"I found myself missing the S20 Plus, and more the S10 Plus, even with the new upgrades. I've lost enthusiasm and confidence in Samsung. The S21 Ultra's weight and size is not for me, I found myself with hand fatigue and not really enjoying using the S21 Ultra. The Note 20 Plus is actually the better phone than the S21 Ultra if you want productivity and comfort."

"If you still own the S10 Plus, keep it, if you own the S20 Plus, keep it. The S21 Ultra, in my humble opinion is Samsung reducing itself to become the villain. It's harsh and it's my opinion."
Interesting review of the Snapdragon U.S.A. country variant, 2 days after release and on the early shipping firmware.

Notifications not going away on Snapchat

Well, to be honest, when I have an app that is a pest, I turn notifications off period.

Aren't you on the app often enough to get any 'missed' notifications in a timely manner?

Is there a site that you can visit with your browser, instead of using the app?

You are much better off just using your browser to access social media sites.

First, no notifications unless you are in the app.
These apps all have a notification area to get your missed messages- so there is no point in the annoying little marker on your screen.

Second, your browser can be (and probably is) more secure than the app. Apps are provided by social media sites in order to mine your device for information.

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/acr.browser.lightning/

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.midorinext.android/

https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.cookiegames.smartcookie/

Lightning is the original, the others have different options available.

In fact, you can put all of your social media sites onto these browsers as bookmarks.

If you allow cookies, and don't clear them, then you will stay logged in.

If you eliminate all of your social media apps, and use a browser to access them instead, you can save a huge amount of space on your device and increase your security.

And no more notifications from an app that you probably visit the site multiple times a day anyway.
