Google Drive app icon not showing in Start screen

Hi,
I can see that I have a Google Drive app installed in my Samsung Galaxy Tab, but I can´t find the app icon anywhere so I can easily open it from the Start screen. Every time I want to open it I have to open the search bar and type Drive to access it. Is this how it's supposed to work? Because is very annoying.
How can I make the app icon be shown on the Start screen or in the app drawer?

I need help/advice with new P40 and google

Maybe the Pro version of the phone is more popular, and that's probably what the peeps who wrote the articles had? Have you actually tried the methods described in these articles?

Because installing GMS(Google Mobile Services, i.e. GAPPS) on a Huawei device involves the same files and methods, as long as it's on the current version of EMUI. It doesn't require rooting and modifying the device, and the worse thing that can happen if you screw-up, is you have to factory reset the phone.
Awesome, i have minimum understanding of rooting although i have tried it in the past, i never really got my head round it, I have an adapter coming tomorrow i am going to try and do this https://phandroid.com/2020/07/20/how-to-install-the-google-play-store-on-the-huawei-p40/

Connecting my Pixel 4a to Ford Sync

I think the video you watched was talking about Bluetooth. You have to pair your phone to your car and then it should show up in the Bluetooth section of your phone as "Ford Sync". There's not a special app, as far as I know.

Usually the procedure is to put your car into pairing mode. On every car I've ever paired a phone with there's an "add phone" or "Pair device" option in settings. If you have a touchscreen in the car it's usually a little easier to find, otherwise you'd have to do it with voice commands. Once the car is in pairing mode, open Bluetooth in settings on your phone and it should scan for devices to pair with. Ford sync should be listed. Once you tap on that, you might be asked for a security code. It should either have been already set when you entered pairing mode or it will be displayed on the phone.

This might help.

Thank you, that did the trick - my phone wouldn't recognize the Sync system until I put the car in pairing mode. Thanks so much!

Hackers?

It really is strange and my phone has been acting buggy lately but it is 18 months old now so I do expect some issues now
Why do you expect issues? An 18-month old phone, especially one that is still getting monthly security updates, should not have any issues.

My phone is 39 months old, and the only issue is that the battery is beginning to age. And frankly even that is a disappointment (I blame this "fast charging with no option to turn it off" nonsense for the fact that it has degraded a bit quicker than my previous device). If you expect problems with an 18 month old device you have set your expectations too low, which only serves the manufacturers interests and not yours.

Disappearing mouse pointer

It's an android TV box not Win 10 (sorry if I'm misunderstanding!)
Have a look at this video to see the issue, not great quality from my phone.
I also used a video app on the box to capture the behaviour and when I played that back the mouse pointer was moving normally but disappearing as I was watching.
Any ideas?

What happened to the built-in ringtones?

thanks Hadron. you've explained why I have a few ringtones that I didn't download but also can't find when I check the phone's folders from my PC.

Now that I realize how big the ringtone universe is, I see understand why Motorola didn't both providing any. Seems that only old farts like me had never felt the need to stray from the ones that came with all of my previous phones.
@olbriar is one of those people, I think Hadron is one too, but it is hard :) Also you got Luna and Mike :)
Nah you are not too old, hell I might as well put my hat in the ring too.

Help cannot rename folderx to .folderx in Android 5.1

It's 2021 and I'm having this exact problem that @rbd is having.

I can rename my folder to anything but as soon as I put a . (dot) in front of the folder name, it gives me an error. This is with the pre-installed file manager on my Oneplus 5. In the past I used to be able to do it but one day it just stopped working. I'm not sure if it was a system update that caused this or not. Has anyone found a fix for this? (preferably the fix doesn't involve installing annoying 3rd party file manager apps filled with ads etc.)
have you tried other file manager apps? what about hooking the phone up to the computer and have the computer change the name?
