Android tablet Huaweii s7- restoration internal storage uninstalled accidentally

Were you using a Gmail account on the tablet?

I didn't delete my data, only uninstalled internal storage memory by mistake. from then tablet can't read any memory card nor internal memory. Then tried to connect to the PC and did the debug and rebooting several times the tablet and then it worked for a while. But now this process seems not to work anymore.

What's app

Just my opinion but installing spyware like Spyzie on a 14 year old's phone going through what he's dealing with is going to end badly. Once he figures out they paid someone to crack into his phone and install/configure this app (as most teens are not ignorant about their own phones), he will no longer trust his family either. He needs their support in this matter, not secretive spying and covert monitoring.

Listening to notifications from phone or messaging app

I am developing a custom launcher, and to display the badges on the app icons, I am using NotificationListenerService to know when a new notification arrives in the system for any app. It is working fine, but for the essential apps such as phone, messages, whatsapp etc, I am not able to capture any notification when somebody leaves a message or calls.

I wonder if these essential apps send notifications via a different channel other than NotificationListenerService, or is there some some key property I need to set in the listener so that I can listen to the event in these cases?

Any help will be appreciated.

Cannot send MMS to Out-Of-Country Providers

I've tried sending MMS using only the mobile data. I need to send pictures to my European colleagues quickly and setting up wifi may be either impractical or impossible at that moment. Uploading a picture and/or video and sending links somewhat defeats the purpose of MMS (although it does work) and also runs into (my) corporate privacy policies. It seems that leaning on T-Mobile may be the only solution left but I don't have the energy to spend another hour with their technicians. It may be less burdensome to get another phone and test it beforehand. Are there any other Android phones with less crapware pre-loaded? I would hate to switch to an iPhone....

Apps I need help with my app

I think you'll probably want to leverage the Google Translate API:
https://cloud.google.com/translate/docs

Very cool that you're already successfully identifying text in your own app (if I read that correctly)! Do you have a live example you can show us?
I mean, I want to make the selection of text “brush” and if it is indicated, then the block becomes different colors
second a third image is my app

Help me decide: Realme 5i vs. ASUS Zenfone 5Q

Hi guys, i'm planning to buy a phone and i'm on a budget.
Can you guys give me thoughts on the Realme 5i and ASUS Zenfone 5Q? Which one should I buy?

Frankly, the Zenfone is really appealing to me and the brand for me is more credible. At the same time, I'm hesitating because of the small battery capacity & "outdated" OS of the Zenfone. I'm not sure if there's a big difference though. I really need help so that I won't make a bad purchase. Any insight is appreciated.

Also, feel free to recommend other phones on the same price level. Thank you very much.

Android Manifest APPCache deprecation?

We have an application that contains a webview that uses html5 appcache api with a manifest file on the server.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cache_manifest_in_HTML5

The use of cache manifest is obsolete, reports chrome on the desktop.

[Deprecation] Application Cache API manifest selection is deprecated and will be removed in M82, around April 2020. See https://www.chromestatus.com/features/6192449487634432 for more details.

We need to know how long the appcache will continue to work, in an android webview.
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/webkit/WebSettings#setAppCacheEnabled(boolean)

It is safe to continue using the cache manifest in an android app? and if it is not, how much time do we have to adapt our application?

Mods How about a prompt to switch on Mobile Data?

The other day while out and about, I tried to access Google Maps on my Samsung Galaxy A3. The app opened, a map was displayed, and I typed in the location to which I wanted directions. The app responded with, "Can't connect to Maps. Try again in a few minutes", with a 'Try again' link/button below. I tried again, and again, each time with the same result.

I was baffled; the app had opened, shown me a map, and according to the 'bars' I had a very strong signal, so why wouldn't it work? I was at risk of being late for an important medical appointment, and hugely frustrated that modern technology was, as I saw it, letting me down. Much later, having had to (horror of horrors!) ask someone for directions, it became apparent that Mobile Data was switched off.

I appreciate fully that switching off Mobile Data was something I must have done at some point, but I don't remember doing so, and certainly didn't do it intentionally (Maps had worked fine a few days previously, and I hadn't fiddled with any settings since). I've been a smart phone user for a couple of years and consider myself reasonably 'tech savvy', but the complexity and sophistication of modern mobiles boggles my mind. I understand that they use WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G (and, for all I know, magic moonbeams!) to communicate with the world, but have no clear idea about 'which does what'.

My question is, given the incredible capabilities of the Android OS, why couldn't my attempts to use the app have invoked a prompt to take the necessary action (i.e. switch Mobile Data back on), instead of the unhelpful, Magic 8 Ball-style, "Try again later" response?

I'd be amazed if I'm the only person to whom this kind of thing happens, and I find it hard to believe that the OS doesn't have the capability to check why an app can't do what the user wants and tell them how to fix it. Any thoughts? Am I missing something blindingly obvious, other than the ability to use my phone competently, that is? ;)

Can you wrap thrid party libs in a AAR without expose them ?

I'm building an AAR and I want to include some libs in the AAR. I have mange to include some of the libs in my AAR and it works fine. However some libs I need to include this" maven { url "A.B.C "} " in the app who are using the AAR. My guess is that the libs aren't in the https://mvnrepository.com/.

I don't want to expose the libs that I am using for my AAR.
Is there a way include them without the maven { url "A.B.C "} ?

Auto Lock

I can't seem to find these.settings on my Galaxy 7s. Any help as to how I can find these. Thanks puppykickr.

BTW, you don't really kick puppys, do you, LOL.

Well, for starters, that is not a stock music player.
It is called BlackPlayer, and I use the last stable ad-free version of it.
If you have the cash, there is an updated version that you can purchase and is ad-free.

Anyway, your stock music player may have a similar setting somewhere.
There may even actually be a setting in your phone app as to how phone calls interrupt media play.

Another app that will play music and videos that gives these options is called VLC. It is also ad-free (cost free as well) and open source.

Voter Canvasing App

If you can't find an appropriate app that will do what you need, this is more of a workaround but you could set up a spreadsheet or database file with the necessary fields you need, and save it to Google Docs. then set that file to be sharable with the necessary people. Your team will use the Google Docs app on their devices when out in the field.

Don't know the scale of your venture but Google's help page states that up to 100 people can simultaneously edit and comment a shared file:

Upside down question mark appearing where a return/enter should be in some texts

Hello, I wanted to post an update because I believe I figured out how to fix the glitch with the upside down question marks appearing on the recipient's end. It appears that some phones are not able to interpret more than one consecutive "space", and this is why the odd characters appear. When you send your outgoing messages, just make sure that you never have more than one space in between characters. Tdjohnson7700- I hope this helps you. I completely understand your frustration as a business owner because this issue was interfering with my ability to send my website link. Please let me know if it helps!
