Well these are a little bit of an oddity as there is no settings page within the notification area on my phone and I've no idea how the phone decides which app it silences.

However there are 2 ways to find the settings for silent notifications. One, as suggested above long press on one of the apps in the silent area and you will get an option to switch it out of the silent area. The other way to access these settings is to go into the apps area of the settings page and selecting each and every app and telling it not to silence the app via Notifications, Notifications within the apps settings.

I can find no way to actually turn this feature off tho.

In iOS I read that it can be done using DEEP LINKING or by using URL Schemes.

I have a problem installing apps using Android Studio (3.5.3) whereby sometimes it simply hangs. To fix this, I have to perform an installation on the command line and disable streamed installation (i.e. force a push install):

adb install -r -t --no-streaming app-debug.apk

Is there a way to force the option "--no-streaming" in Android Studio? The only related option I can find is the "Install Flags" in the "Run/Debug Configuration", but the hint text for this says "Options to 'pm install' command", and this suggests that this is only used if non-streaming is used (i.e. push to temporary file on device, then use pm install on the device).

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I’m new to android development and my first app is nearing completion. Obviously I want to test it before I ship it.

I’m fairly confident in creating tests that look at the app itself, i.e. it’s functionality, compatibility on multiple screen sizes and OS levels etc. What I’m less sure about it is what could happen outside the app that could have an affect on it. I think my primary concern is ensuring the app continues to function correctly when different parts of the lifecycle are hit that might be out of the ordinary. The sorts of tests I’m thinking of are:

• What happens when the user gets a call when using the app?
• What happens when the user exits the app in one orientation, but re-enters in another, or in split screen mode?
• What happens if the user kills the app from the app overview screen?
• What happens when the user uninstall/re-installs the app?
• What happens when the user restarts their phone with the app open?

Does anyone have any suggestions on resources for generic tests like this that I should make sure I test?

I'm with @ocnbrze in wondering why there's a need to set this app as the default gallery. Can you give us some examples of what you're doing when you wish it was the default? Maybe if we understand what you're wanting to do we'll be better able to help.

not exactly sure what you mean. i have a note 10+, but i do not know what you are asking. can you provide more details?

settings>biometrics>secure folder>it will ask you to setup a secure folder, if you don't have one setup.>select the app you want to move to the secure folder.

That's the exact opposite of California's protocols. Homeowners in fire-prone areas are expected to keep their properties clear of brush within X distance from structures. Fire-breaks are common.

What always gets me is that new housing developments are routinely approved--right smack in the middle of prime fire country! Why?! Sure, I'd love to live high up in the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu, with a perfect view of the Pacific...but you won't catch me actually doing it.

Never two times the same mistakes.

you should have made a nandroid backup before flashing the kernel. a nandroid backup is a complete backup of your phone, incase something like this happens. as long as you can get into recovery you can always restore a nandroid backup. well, let's make this a teaching lesson.

so looks like not many roms or kernels supports n9200 variant of the note 5. you have to be very careful on what you flash. kernels and custom roms are very device specific. you need to read the op and the entire thread for each custom rom or kernel, before flashing.

the only thing i can think of is to flash a firmware for your device. go to sammobile. it might unroot you however, but i'm not 100% positive.

Hey, thanks for your answer. I'll do that.

Try this:

Plug your phone into the charger and then plug the charger in.

Goto:

Settings
Battery

Look to see if it says Charging on USB or Charging on AC.

If you are plugged into a charger (not a USB port) and it says Charging on USB then try a different USB cord, until it says Charging on AC.

If nothing helps, then change the charger and try it again.

Cords wear out over time, and so do chargers

Get this.
I have one app, Demolition Derby 3, that I cannot get to update unless I have the recent Play Store and Services updates.
They both nust be current even to update it from a different app store.

So as soon as I do that, I have to disable the Play Store app, so that Google won't mess with my device again.

I doubt there is any difference. In either case you are informing the service provider's systems of what you want done with calls. I imagine the difference is that most people don't know that it can be done by dialling code sequences.
