Help Netflix isn't compatible with HTC U11?!

so is the phone rooted then? and are you saying that netflix will not work on a rooted phone? or a phone that has the bootloader unlocked?

Just unlocked bootloader. I found a xda thread that mentioned some change in play store that allowed devs to block *any* phones with unlocked bootloaders. Netflix is one of the apps that did it.
Phone is totally stock, but even couple years ago you could not get HTC from a carrier, so it is unlocked.

I'm Back

I'm hoping it's similar to when I sort of came back. I posted--only in Private Chat, I think--what had happened and why I'd been gone. Then it was like another year before I really came back! I thought I felt better than I actually did that first time. :D

Let's hope it's something similar--but it's hard not to worry when someone's come back, they've been ill, and then they're gone again...

A Decade of Android!

The Droid was released with Android Eclair, and the fastest way we could get Froyo on it was custom ROMs. Of course, with such small RAM, space was at a premium! So it was amazing that the Droid was able to do everything it did with only 512MB. And that wasn't just for the OS - all the APPS had to operate within that, too!
My Droid still runs today. It's been running non-stop as my alarm clock. I *think* it's running a Chevy rom, but I forget. I hesitated rooting it, but finally did and loaded sapphire on it. It's how I found my way here to AF. :)

Installing Android onto persistent USB stick + Google Parent

Android X86 install and runs perfectly well on Dell Laptops, You can run it 'live' from a USB stick or DVD, to see how well it runs on your laptop. But, to install it you'll need to reboot and choose install from the Android boot menu. DO NOT attempt to partition the hard disk, as Android has it's own partitioning scheme that's very different to either Windows or Linux. I had better results using Lineage OS (also so on the Android X86 site)

The current version is based on Android 8.1, and there's a beta of Android 9. It really is full Android on a Laptop. Don't worry about a lack of touchscreen, the Laptop's touchpad works just fine.

Google account backup vs Samsung account backup differences?

Can't really comment about Samsung or Google backup, as I don't use either.

But I'm thinking if you can go without a phone for 60 days, 2 months. Do you actually need a phone at all?

I have mentioned "If I lost my phone or if my phone is faulty for 60 days", I am preparing for worst case scenario. It is possible that I lose my phone and someone return it 60 days later and while searching for the phone I use an old spare phone S4 that I am unable to restore backup due android version too old. That guy in the example sold his phone and used an iphone for over 60 days and lost all backup when he wanted to use android phone again.

S10+ keeps randomly restarting, is there any way to find out what's causing it?

try putting the phone in safe mode and see if it is still happening. safe mode prevents 3rd party apps from running. it is just a troubleshooting tool. if it is still happening there, then i would for sure do a factory reset.

make sure you back things up using smart switch.

or as @mikedt suggested you can use smart switch to update your phone. you can't install firmware using smart switch, especially if your phone already has the latest update.
