PUK code is the code you use to reset a SIM PIN if you have forgotten it. Nothing to do with the phone, except that the SIM must be in a phone to enter the code.

PAC is the code you use to request a phone number transfer between carriers (at least here - I don't know how that works in the States, which "boost" suggests might be where the question comes from).

For this there are 2 possible issues. If someone has paid off a contract (so they own the phone) and then sells it without unlocking from the original carrier then it's purely a technical problem of undoing the SIM lock. The original carrier can do that, but probably will only do it for the original owner (if they are still a customer). But in that case you may be able to unlock it unofficially.

The second problem is the one described above: the phone was sold before it was paid off and the owner then stopped paying the contract. In this case the contract has been broken and the carrier will blacklist the phone, and there is nothing you can do about that (in the UK where I am there is no way they'd remove the blacklisting for you).

You likely have an option in the phone Settings for Location something like "GPS only". That location setting will use only the GPS radio and not use WiFi or cellular data for determining location.

You can't hack a carrier to give you free service. At least not legally.

not surprised really. the fold has been such a huge fiasco. they should move on and call the next foldable phone they put out with a new name.

It may be the athletes striving for recognition and not the country. Whatever, it is a shame. The intense long training is the same if doped or not. That's a huge investment in time and effort to then lose the chance to compete. I hope that the athletes not cited get the chance to participate.

If you get a S9, S10, Note9 or Note10, I'm sure you can use Samsung's Dex Station with those phones, and this has hardware HDMI video out, NO wireless required.

Huawei does something similar as well, with MateDock for their Mate series phones, and that's what I've got. It has hardware HDMI and analog VGA video out, NO wireless required.

These accessories are so you can use your phone as like a PC.

Thanks Kate. I think the "Lock automatically" setting is my problem. The only choice is "immediately" and I have a feeling that's part of the agent my company installs on all phones. Ideally I'd just need to increase that lock time right there but it's not available. I've tried all the other settings. Thanks for the help.

I had similar 'fun' a while back- nursing four very out of date servers producing management reports for a large UK retail chain, three of them failed over a two week period, so one was left running 24/7 to just about keep up. I was working 24 hours straight over Sunday/Monday. I asked the ops manager what I should tell the Chairman if/when the last server failed and he didn't get his Sunday trading summary. If someone has the credentials to your Google account, they can do all sorts of things that might make it appear you no longer have control of your phone. Next time you buy a used phone, first have the seller remove their account to avoid FRP:
1. Remove any PIN or swipe pattern for the lock screen
2. Go into Settings - Accounts and remove all accounts
3. Then factory reset the device.
After that it shouldn't ask for the email and password with Factory Reset Protection.

Someone from Huawei Service replied to my question today and I quote
