I recently lost the capture plus feature on my LG15G. I removed chrome as my default browser and instead used the resident browser, capture plus once again works. Hope this helps someone else with this issue!

there really is no perfect phone to use parental controls. really you just need to find the specs and price that suits you and your wallet.

it's really the apps you use that will help out.

It's hard to describe but it's ok now

If the phone was pattern or PIN locked, it's basically impossible to access personal data on it by USB means, as that's for security, there are no backdoors.

Think your only chance really is to have the phone screen repaired, so it can be unlocked. How much to replace a Oneplus 3 screen, might depend on where you are, and what sort of repair facilities are available to you.

Samsung devices don't have that feature.

That's normal. Using 'force stop' never prompts to restart an app.

It clearly didn't stop the app because immediately afterwards I tried sending a test email from her phone to mine and it worked.

In mid October I posted my own post about Google Text-to-Speech settings having gone sideways around that time and they have stayed broken. I'm on Android 8 on an Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom and use T-T-S heavily to listen to documents on my phone. Now, I have to forcefully choose my pwn voice of choice (and its speed of delivery) buried deep down under "install voice data" for every single use of the function and sometimes even have to re-choose partway through playing if I have paused my playing for too long. They have really messed up this customization function, somehow, so what used to work beautifully no longer does. There are never any replies to in-app feedback back to Google.
(PS they've also done some other weird little things recently, such as T-T-S reading every occurence of "sat" (no period) as the word Saturday, rather than the word sat, but I guess some apparatchik decided for their calendar app they just wanted it that way. The choice had also existed for a long time to read the word "Dr." always as "Drive" and never as "Doctor" and I've adjusted to that. I haven't adjusted to hearing my DRM free books, which seem to be full of people sitting, with sentences like. "The children Saturday glum and silent throughout this speech."

I periodically have problems trying to download files from Google Drive onto my Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom running Android 8. Most of the time I'm okay but then have a spell where the files just point blank won't download. I request download repeatedly with nothing happening and then upon restarting the phone it downloads the same file as many times as I attempted download. I do NOT have the setting switched on for only downloading via WiFi.

The orange attachment to the icons could mean that its locked and can only be opened with a security password or biometrics. As to what type of app it is is impossible to know as icons can be changed with themes. Samsung has built in app lock, MIui also has one.

Does anyone know of a quality email app that has the ability to assign different notification sounds to specific email authors? I now use Maildroid Pro but it hasn't been updated in over a year and it is no longer supported. I'm looking for a new app that's similar. It has to have the the ability to filter incoming mail and assign different notifications to specific email authors.

The OP's phone is unusable. Not quite the same issue!

If you had twrp all you would have needed to do was wait for a developer to come up with a rooted version of the update.

When you say unlock, are you talking about carrier unlock?

Just updated my Google Pixel XL to Android 10. With the OS Android 9, I can do "adb pull" just fine with "USB debugging option" enabled. But now, while I can still "adb shell" but every time I tried to do "adb pull" it always caused disconnect (then reconnect), and the file did not arrive. Can someone give me a pointer or help to resolve this issue? I often depend on "adb pull" to do scripted backup of certain files from this phone.

I am trying to do exactly this- delete a PHONE NUMBER from a contact. My contact moved and has new information. I hit the Minus button and the number disappeared from the Edit screen but NOT the contact. The numbers I want to delete are STILL THERE. When I go back to Edit now they don't show up- so I have no idea how to even edit them to 'delete the numbers' before hitting the minus key. How do I do this?

and I AGREE- Android really needs some better user testing before releasing this stuff. It should not be this hard to delete a phone number from a contact!

The only thing I can think of is to delete the contact and reenter my contact with the correct info- but seriously, Android, that is stupid.

I have gotten the same issue with my earphones on my HTC One A9 so I read through your messages though when I went to my settings, I tapped sound and notifications, then volumes and in there I found that I have put my music volume to zero volume and the rest(calls, notifications) were up. {I think this happen ed as I pressed the volume button with the that for power trying to take a snap shot} so I just raised volume and my music is back. Uuuuuyeh I have been saved. Thanks people.

On the S7, there was no way to save the Pro mode, but you could set it and then create a desktop shortcut which came up with that mode (plus whatever other config you set up).

This is Huawei's own implementation of FRP(Factory Reset Protection). Which is locked to the original phone number the phone was first registered with, rather than a Google Account, because there's no Google in China.

The only way to reset and clear it, is to have the original SIM and phone number in the phone. And it's done by SMS verification. No bypass possible with current updates AFAIK. Huawei Service can probably reset and clear it, but you'd need to prove legal ownership.
