I think I had a lemon

Buying a lemon isn't always a bad thing. A few years after we got married. My wife and I went to San Francisco. We ended up going to some shopping center that sold name brand merchandise at 60-80% off it's normal retail price because errors. For example my wife got two purses one for $125 when the original price was $400+ she got a purse originally price at more than $600 for $200. Both of these were top of the line I think one was a Dooney& Burke and the other was a coach or Lou vouton , I forget it was years ago. The sales person I remember point out the design flaws to us and explain it would be pointless to try and claim we had been sold a lemon because the company had stamped a cereal number inside indicating that the purse had been sent to a consignment shop/store

Help DUH! How to answer phone?

It has been eight years. The android made me nuts after a few years of iPhone. And I did, indeed, return to iPhone.
I gave up!
Apparently my brain wasn't capable of making the switch.
Thanks for the advice to you and all.
Android is not necessarily the answer, it's an option. If you are happy and comfortable with your iphone choice that's great. Welcome back.

Help [SOLVED] Get rid of this annoyance? (Chrome issue)

F-Droid is your friend.
Yes, thank you, I'm familiar with F-Droid. :)

I only use paid apps, unless there isn't a paid version but its in-app purchase feature replaces ads (like the Candy Crush family). As a former programmer, I like to reward developers of apps I like and use by paying for them. I appreciate the time, knowledge, and creativity that go into a great app.
Google is your warden.
I guess it depends on how you look at it. Google in no way dictates or controls what I do.

I used to root my Android devices, but no longer see the need.

By the way, what OS do you use on your computers?

Trouble syncing contacts with Microsoft Exchange

I've recently noticed that my S9+ is not syncing correctly with Microsoft Exchange. The phone indicates it is syncing and shows a current date & time of sync. However, my Microsoft Exchange account has 440 contacts and only 435 of them are showing up on my phone. I also noticed after updating a phone number with one contact on Exchange, that new number is not updating with that same contact on my phone.

Need help with my rooted htc to get SMS limit unlock

SMS limits and the amount you can send are set by your carrier and your account with them, and not by the phone itself, for example you might have a limit of say 200 free SMS a month. Rooting and modifying the phone won't get around that
No I use a third party sorftware to send mass SMS to my 450 work colleagues but when send it asks the permissions and I have to keep clicking allow so I rooted the phone and got SMS limit unlock software but doesnt work

Android Q Audio Playback capture Feature

It does let the user know, and the user, as well as the app must specifically allow it, doesn't it?

Quote:-
For security and privacy, playback capture imposes some limitations. To be able to capture audio, an app must meet these requirements:

Urgent please help

Well I'll just repeat what I failed to express previously, your wish to block specific ports will also disable online access for other, necessary for basic functionality. Again, it's the operating system that manages ports, not your apps. Also, WhatsApp being a multi-functional service, its app is also an integrated one involving those multiple services so, yeah, it would require a modification of the app itself on your device, or altering its source code and recompiling a new app, to selectively disable one particular feature. Keep in mind WhatsApp is not an Open Source project, nor is its app so even if you were to hire a developer to alter it to your liking it's not a legal venture.
If your primary goal is to eliminate text messaging but you want to continue WiFi calling it doesn't seem like using WhatsApp is the best option for you. There are plenty of text messaging apps and plenty of WiFi Calling and VoIP apps available. Plus a lot of text messaging apps are now including WiFi Calling functionality. Just as an example my preference the Signal Private Messenger app allows one to do WiFi Calling. And for voice and video calling there's Google's Duo app, available for both Android and iOS.
A primary appeal to WhatsApp is its own expansive messaging service but that's what you're trying to bypass, are there other reasons as to why you want to use Whatsapp for this matter?

And just to emphasize, regarding the NoRoot Firewall app, there are plenty of viable alternatives that are more current and have more expansive feature sets than NoRoot, an example being support for IPv6 TCP-UDP. Also NoRoot can only provide you with full functionality with WiFi but only partially with mobile data (cellular) because while other newer firewall apps support LTE, NoRoot does not.
As for the rooting issue, it was not a suggestion or recommendation but rather just reference because of the issue involving non-root firewall apps having only limited ability over lower-level system processes. A significant issue with root-required firewall apps and non-root ones is the difference their basic functionality. With root-required firewall apps, they have access to iptables, a well-developed, fundamental firewall that's an integrated service in the Linux kernel itself. So a root-required firewall app will just tie itself into iptables. But a non-root firewall app being installed by the user does not have any access to iptables. Most non-root firewall apps instead rely upon a clever work-around using a local VPN service. It's not a VPN that involves some remote servers in the cloud (i.e. a VPN service you pay to set up an account with) but rather one that runs solely on your device, so the filtering rules you set up get applied to the networking traffic as it gets looped back through this localized, internal VPN.

Help Periods. Between. Each. Word

You've not got your keyboard set to interpret a double tap on the spacebar as "insert a period"? That could produce spurious periods, though between every word would see excessive.

Is it only SMS? If so, what happens if you use a different SMS app? (It will be the same keyboard, so I'd expect that the behaviour would be the same. If not then please tell us what SMS app you have the problem with).

Help Nokia 1 & 3310 3G read only language capability

I contacted Nokia by email and they told me that the Nokia 1 TA-1056 DS is the right Latam model for me as I want to use it in the EMEA and LATAM regions. I was wondering whether all Nokia 1's can read Arabic and Spanish sms as well as the standard reading and writing of English?

I've identified the correct Nokia 3310 3G model I am looking for with quad band 2G and 3G as TA-1036, or at least that's what Nokia told me.... I would like to know if this model can also at least read Arabic and Spanish sms as well as read and write English?

I have had no straight answer from Nokia for these additional questions. I have an old Nokia 106.1 which was bought in the UK and that can also read Arabic and Spanish but that does not mean that all Nokia's can do this...

If there is no straight answer to this is there a free third party app I can use to flash the Nokia 3310 3G or add a language that won't completely wreck it? I may try to see if it can receive Arabic and Spanish sms first before doing this...

Many thanks for any advice.
