I use nokia 8.1 phone which comes with android pie, uses android one(android stock) for its system
It must be really part of the accessibility suite but I really have no idea what its used for lol

have you tried another usb cable? also there should be an option in setting to turn on or open usb storage device.

I'm honestly not sure. I contemplated buying a replacement screen and giving it a go but, as said above, insurance offer to repair or replace. I'm a bit worried they might reject a claim if i play around with the screen, fail and then send it in! Then i'm left with a bricked phone and have to pay £269 to nearest repair place in London. Or risk a kiosk repair. Pain in the arse situation! Thanks for your help dude.

anything with "sys" you will not have access to it unless you root your device. system files are part of the android os and you need root access to make any changes to it. what are you trying to do?

hey any luck on rooting SM-G930V??? I really would like to use VPN hotspot apps but they require the phone to be rooted and I wanna remove all this VZW bloatware off my phone.

I was facing same problem..try charging your phone after turning it off.and make sure your charger is turbo power or its orignal charger.this will definitely work.

My p20 lite requested a pin, but no ok button.

so my gear s3 i love mainly because of the bezel that rotates. it is very convenient. i also love s3 because it is one of the bigger round faces on the market. i mainly use it to show my notifications and for fitness. the fitness app is great because it also logs your gps as well as heart rate and such.

i might get the s4 if they plan on releasing one this year. i also have the lg urbane which is another cool watch as well.

I'm developing an App in which users navigate through a tree structure using a lists, so the user sees:

root 1
root 2
root 3

After selecting one of those, they are on the next level of the tree structure and they see:

You are on root 2:
level 1
level 2
level 3

Navigating the structure is fine. My issue is that I also want a detail view for each item of the structure.
So right now I'm using tabs to show subitems in one tab and a detail view of the currently selected item on another tab. If you understand what I explained, you can guess this is probably not the best approach, as it feels a bit confusing/non-intuitive that both tabs behave as a detailview, one with subitems/levels and the other as an actual detail view.

The reason for navigating the tree structure like this instead of having a list of expandable items is that each item might have quite many subitems and scrolling much is not desirable. So the tree structure navigation solves that issue but creates anoter: I cannot anymore click an item and show its detailview.

sorry this is better for you to figure out. it is a way to learn how things work. plus if you are able to revive the phone, the feeling of accomplishment.....there is nothing better.

try the firmware guide i posted and see if this works or not.

Thanks for responding guys. I guess I can use network location, really, right? It does not have to be exact, like GPS. As far as the way it would work, I do not want it to be static. I Google Maps API constantly and tell me if the store is nearby. I want it to be dynamic and work in all areas, not just for one particular store.

And, year, I am kinda into this stuff.

Brother that did it!. It was a PIA to find but Google Play Music was there. Looks like all is working fine again. Kudos!

It wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be. I threw it in my rear pocket and was good to go (around the city) While traveling, it went quietly in my briefcase.

yep if you want to know about rooting your phone or future phone, i always head over to xda. it is a developers forum where the developers from around the world hang out and publish their wares. i always will look at the device forum of my future phone. i will look for first if there is a forum for the device. next i will look to see how active it is. if you have developers supporting your device then you are good to go.

a rule of thumb for me is no devs=no fun

so follow the link dannydet provide. i would read as much as you can there. and just from reading a few threads and from what i know, Samsung makes it super hard to root their devices. you are lucky that you have the exynos chip. here in the US only the snapdragon chip is sold and their is no root for those devices. this dates back to the note 8 which is what i have right now!!!!!!!!!!!!

but before you do anything please read, read, read, and then read some more. ask questions here if you have any as well.

and one last thing if you do root the device and install TWRP recovery.......please make a android backuo first before making any changes to your phone. a nandroid bacxkup is like a save point in a video game. it is a complete snapshot of your phone including all of its data. if something goes wrong or you do not like something you did, you can always restore back using a nandroid backup....and your phone will ne like nothing ever happened.

and one last thing......take your time. there is no rush........and don't panic
