Blank calendar

Friend, I understand very much. I am tired of problems with the calendar in the app. After some updates, the reminders get reset; sometimes, they shift by an hour or two, and sometimes they disappear altogether. Since I am an elderly person, I spend a lot of time setting up all the events. My daughter got tired of listening to me complain and printed out a calendar from https://www.123calendars.com/february-calendar.html, in which I write everything myself. Most importantly, my psychological health has improved. Maybe for you, it will be a good way out of the situation.

Problem with wifi and audio

A Factory Reset only wipes the user data partition clean and that's all it does. It does not do anything to the installed Android operating system. You can do a Factory Reset a dozen times or more, and that result will be the same.

Your internal storage media is divided into several partitions, most are dedicated to the operating system, and only one big one is set aside as the user data partition. So a Factory Reset is not 'resetting the software' if you're attempting to imply this does some magical fix to the Android OS running on your phone. Wiping the user data partition simply deletes that one partition, where you data was stored. All the other system partitions are left as is.
To actually replace/restore the firmware on your phone (the Android operating system itself), you need to go through the much more involved process of flashing the appropriate stock ROM. Flashing a ROM will install a clean version of the OS into those system partitions.
But that's all just software. When it involves hardware diagnostics, you're going to need some sophisticated equipment that can actually test the various components. And odds are it will involve replacing the logic board anyway.

Help Wierd Mobile Data Bug - Please Help

As far as I can tell, T-Mobile is simply the worst carrier that exists.

I have hardly ever been able to use any data, and it is almost as difficult to make a phone call.
Sometimes texting will work if I am close enough to a tower to touch it.

I have to use wi-fi everywhere I can, because the cellular 'service' is laughable.

Maybe your parents live underneath a tower, so it works for them.

question about having no internet in apps after disable automatic updates in play store.

It sounds like you may need to update Android System Webview.

It is the app that allows other apps to show web content.
Some apps have their own webview, so they will not be affected, but most rely on this Android System Webview.

On the other hand, Google will update this sp quite often, and there is just as much of a chance that you got a bunk update that wont function right.

If updating this one app does not work, then try uninstalling all updates for the app.

This brings it back to its original state as when the device was new, and you will not lose any info or data.

Another issue could be (but try the above first) that some devices use Chrome as a webview instead.
So if this is the case, then try the above remedies for Chrome.

Feel free to ask if you need instructions on how to do (or find) any of this.

[APP] GET Cloud Download Mp3 SoundCloud

Good luck getting the op who is probably the dev to answer to this. He only posted this one thread and never came back. Looks like it's no longer in the play store. Even if you could find the apk, the app came out in 2016. A 2016 app that had not been updated to the latest Android os, probably would not work, or you could get lots of crashes and glitches.

If the op dies not respond, I would look else where for a music app.
So no reason to leave this open. :)

How do I kill one specific android app

Another way to kill just one app is a little more involved but allows you to do more. Go into your Settings >> Apps menu, scroll through the resulting list to find that app in question, and tap to open its 'App info'. Tapping on 'Force stop' will kill the app. Since this app is apparently having some problems, you might also want to use 'Clear cache' to wipe the app's cache. And since you're already in the App info box, you might want check options in the Battery usage, Storage usage, and/or Permissions to see if anything might be better changed to prevent whatever problem you might be having with the app. These are all options on how the app ties in with the operating system, don't forget to look in the Settings/Options/Preferences menu in the app itself. Those will be options that are more about how the app ties in with you and how you use the app.

Touch and hold / long press, and slight finger movement

As for google maps, yesterday I almost collided with a car, being distracted by maps telling me FIVE times to turn right at a simple t-junction. I think the instructions were something along the lines of:

In 300 yards turn right onto the A71.
In 200 yards turn right onto the A71.
In 100 yards turn right onto the A71.
Turn right onto the A71 then continue 30 miles.
Continue 30 miles.

Seriously?!?

Is Go Keyboard safe?

A keyboard app can do a lot more that just report how often you open the app: it can pass your card details, passwords or anything else you type back to the developer. So it's fair to be more cautious about a keyboard.

Plus what you may not know is that since the earlier posts were made the "Go" apps were pulled from the Play Store over security concerns, so don't be too quick to assume that words of caution are based on prejudice! The few that can be found now have a new name for the developer: whether this is the same dev under a different name or someone else hijacking the defunct branding I don't know. Of course some of the recent "improvements" in the Play Store make it much harder to find out anything about the app developers.

(Unfortunately almost every change Google have made in the last decade has made it harder for people to make responsible choices about apps before installing - they pay lip service to security, but they clearly don't want people to think about it for themselves.)

Move file from Download to folder

Yeah, BTW, pdf file format is not the ideal format for sending in a text message and that is why you are experiencing such issues...
Convert your files to jpg files and tada!
Now you can send them in text messages no matter what folder you have them in.
Danny
Thanks. Apparently the PDF format was not allowed for text messages. Converted to PNG, and voila, it worked. I didn't have an email address, which would allow PDFs to be attached.

I would like to root my Android S8+

You don't say whether your phone is a North American model (qualcomm processor) or a Vast Majority of the World model (exynos processor). This makes a huge difference to how you root it or even whether you can, and what ROMs or mods are available for it once you have.

These different models may have the same marketing name, s8+, but are different phones internally, and mods intended for one will not work on the other, so it's very important to use the right software for your phone.

And yes, you can save the original ROM if you can unlock the phone and install a custom recovery without modifying it. But that's not enough to return it fully to stock software, for that your best bet is just to reflash it with a full set of official software. Even then it will be clear that the phone had been modified, since rooting will trip the Knox "E-fuse", and software that checks the Knox status will detect your phone as having been altered.

Also if you use any apps that don't like running on rooted phones (payment apps, banking apps, some media apps) make sure that whatever root method you use does allow you to hide the fact that it is rooted from the specific apps you care about.

In short, do your research before you try to change anything.

Storage manager (SM) Partitioned Micro sd card but how to mount the extended partition

I only skim read that I'm afraid (wide text format is awkward to read on a phone), but there are a couple of observations I'd make:

1) When you set default install location to sd (fat32 format) all it ever moves is the apk and some of the shared object files. That's how that is designed, the bulk of the installed app will indeed remain in internal, this is normal.

2) I've never used adopted storage (format sd card as internal), but certainly the higher-end Samsungs don't support it, and I wasn't aware that any did. If you use some trick to enable it then as that is unsupported there can be no guarantees of it working correctly.

3) The phone software is written to mount a single sd partition on boot. If you partition the card it won't look for a second partition. This is how all android phones have always been. Mods that use a second partition include extra software to mount the additional partition (originally init.d scripts, though I think that was deprecated years ago), so if all you've done is add a partition it's no surprise if the phone doesn't use it. Unfortunately it's 5 years since I last played with root so I'm not up to date with such things these days (the things extra partitions were used for generally required root).

Android 12 update. AVJE. NOVEMBER security patch

Samsung have begun rolling out an update to stable users on Android 12. The AVJE release has the November security patch.

So far, the European models, F936B, are receiving this update.

Build date = 24 October 2022

Build no: = F936BXXS1AVJE

It is a FOTA, (Firmware Over The Air), update and you can check... Settings > Software update... to see if it is available for you. Alternatively, you can connect to the Samsung PC suite, Smart Switch and check via that.

As far as we know, the November roll-out date for Android 13 is still on.
