Displaying names of videos/pics in gallery

It wouldn't be so frustrating if it would at least display the file name across the top by default when you swipe from one video to the next. I'm trying to organize HUNDREDS of motion capture clips. The names are very long, in YYYY_MM_DD-HH-MM-SS format. That's great for sorting by name, and it's also terrific that the file name tells you when the motion capture was activated. But remembering a 14-figure numeric file name, not so much. If I have to look away from what I'm doing for any reason, good luck remembering where I was in a gallery folder of 500 thumbnails.

Finding layouts difficult in android studio

Is it just me?
if you use less than 15 views, use Linear layout and keep the stack less than 6, I don't really have any problems, use more than 15 views with Constraint Layout and it can become a nightmare, changing id and moving views.
I have been trying to build a grid of buttons (45) (till app)
but i need the user to add them and edit the text, size for each button.
First I looked at grid view, you can change the element size(every tile has to be the same size) that's no good to me. Second I tried Constraint Layout but I need the user to make some tiles(buttons) gone, and the rest auto resize to take up any available space, can't see this working with a grid of views(sure it would great with 10 views with Barrier(as this would add 9 more Barrier.views with more id's to keep track of)
so I can't see this working with 45 buttons.
Linear Layout gives you all the control you would ever need with weights but its heavy on system resources(well that's the warning say)

Is Linear Layout my best option?

Help Number of notifications on email and text not showing

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions, but I finally solved the problem --

I had rebooted the phone, I have no idea if I am using a custom launcher like nova? or samsung's OneUI?

I kept playing around with it,,and finally under widgets I found the setting that let me see the numbers again. I think it was the app icon badges one. But I didn't change it to start with, so no idea how it got changed, as I never even click on widgets. The only place I could find app icon badges was in the widgets thing

Thanks again to all of you!

Spam A LOT

It seems to me they'd all be exhausted from assembling cheap gadgets to sell us to have much energy left for that sort of thing... perhaps @mikedt can illuminate whether some extra-fertile people are employed to do nothing else but make babies. Heck of a gig, if you can get it...

AND JUST SO WE'RE NOT ACCUSED OF GOING OFF-TOPIC:

Don't look at that stuff online unless you have a VPN, firewall, Tor Browser, and malware scanner installed. Better yet, find a cute spouse who loves you back, and get busy!

Counter strike zombie game forgotten

So i was scrolling through some zombie games on google play store and i remembered a game that i played which was multiplayer. It was like a counter strike game with their weapons and you have different maps but you play with other people and fight zombies.its first person and i would really appreciate it if you help me find this game, thanks
why not scroll thru all the games that you purchased(even the free games) in the play store. it keeps a list of everything you either installed or purchased in the past. it's a bit tedious, but most likely yields better results than asking here.

turn Off the message "a usb media drive was detected"

It's not something I've seen on any Android phone or tablet I've had. I guess it's a feature the manufacturer of your device has done. Check in the Notification settings, maybe there's an option to turn off the messages there?

Quite frankly the only thing I can recall showing things like that is Windows on a PC, i.e. A new drive was detected, popping up.

App Inventor Question about cross-compilation?

Hi,

I know the basics how NDK, but I do not following:

Can you use Linux Ubuntu and cross compile .so, which you place in JNIlibs folder and then use this .so file as libary or do you really need to compile in NDK always.

The problem is, that I want to use another libary. Building this libary is impossible in NDK, thats what the devs say, because it uses other dependencies.
However you can build on Linux and even cross compile it for arm-linux.

But here starts the point, where I get confused. The jnilibs folder need a so file. However you cannot compile a static program with so, because shared objects are dynamically linked. I can create a executable, that will run on adb, but this is not what I want.

Heavy Breathing Sounds

Hi, thank you for posting this because since July 27th I have been searching Google for an answer. Basically on that day my mom's partner died at the exact same time I heard this on my phone. I was searching my shopping bags thinking it was something in my bag until realising it was my phone. I had no apps on in the background and nothing on Spotify etc. It was only half an hour later I got the call that he had died at that exact time so naturally I thought it was something spooky. I'm sure my mom thinks I made it up. After listening to your video clip I note its EXACTLY the same! I note that you did get an answer although not sure what that means but I accept it as some tech/frequently glitch. I only joined this forum to reply to you to let you know that this exact same thing happened to me and to thank you for solving the mystery that I might have perceived as something else for the rest of my life.
