Some decline in capacity with time is to be expected, though 7% in 1 year seems a little high with protective measures (e.g. the 85% charging limit) in place: that's marginally above what my previous Pixel 2 did with no option to turn fast charging off (except using an old charger) and always charging to 100%. And that was measured by the same app, so hopefully as comparable as such estimates can be between different phones. Of course if you've not been using Accubattery from the start you don't know what the initial capacity estimate was: batteries vary by a few %, and you can get one that's slightly below nominal capacity as well as slightly above, so it's also possible that degradation is overestimated.

The usual thing is to check for any apps that are consistently using more power than they should - something that is complicated by the fact that different apps definitely estimate app usage differently!

Maybe an s21U owner will show up to give a more direct comparison.

I don't know whether these things would work for that purpose (e.g. whether they maintain a sufficiently continuous connection). Otherwise a cheap fitness tracker would be the most obvious thing (doesn't even need a screen for this purpose). In the early days Fitbit used to sell one that could be clipped to clothing rather than worn, but they discontinued that long ago and I don't know whether anyone still makes such a thing. Obviously a device like this would need recharging maybe weekly rather than running for months or years the way a tracking tag can.

(Like others here, I've no experience of smart lock: I find the fingerprint sufficiently little hassle to use that it's not worth weakening security for me personally, so have never even tested it).

Evernote dumped 4 years worth of Journaling, a 5 or 6 randoms left out over 100 entries. I'm sure i am at fault, but they don't make it easy to ask questions. I gave up on getting ahold of someone representing Evernote. Better known as Ever JOKE. sorry if off subject or whatever but i, in good conscience, had to pass on my experiences.

Windows file recovery software would have worked on Android 2.x, where the phone's storage was mounted as USB mass storage (i.e. same as a flash drive - which also meant that the phone couldn't access it while you were copying files). Since 4.x its used Microsoft's Media Transfer Protocol for file transfer, which does not give the computer the same level of access to the storage device. It may look superficially the same on Windows, in that you can open it in Windows Explorer the way you would a flash drive or portable hard disk, but it isn't the same thing. I don't use Windows with my phones (I barely use Windows at all), but I've not heard of regular file recovery software working since this change was made (about 9-10 years ago).

The trouble with the apps that claim they can do it is that it's very hard to find testimonies of success from real users who are not connected with the apps.

Have you tried Google photos? In Google photos slide shows is under animation and you can stylise how the slide show appears. You can even add music...... check it out.

You should use Google photos more, it's way better than most galleries as that is not up to android, but up to the phone manufacturer.

If it's not in you phone settings, then there is not much you can do.

Yes, with Nova you can hide apps in the drawer, and you can also add other tabs to the app drawer where you can put these apps in case you do want to access them via the app drawer occasionally but don't want to see them most of the time.

My phone says the same thing, which is correct. The August update has been delayed. According to Google, it will be released within the next few weeks. So all you have to do is wait like the rest of us. Nothing to worry about. In order to get the update ASAP, I tap the "Check for Update" button when I've read that the update has been released. I will post that it's been released as soon as I know.

If the SD card has gone read-only because the phone finds a fault with it, this will happen. Under the settings inside Amazon Music, it normally shows 'SD Card: Online'. If it's read-only, it shows 'SD Card: Error'

Also, there's a setting there to tell it where to save music, and sometimes it gets changed for some reason back to internal. That setting should allow changing it back to SD or external storage.

The amount of crazy things that happened whenever my S20 FE would turn itself on in my pocket (Note to Samsung: Accidental Pocket Protection does NOT work!) is well, crazy. I tried turning off tap to wake, raise to wake, Always-on-display at certain times when my phone is in my pocket (Bixby Routines), and even then I'd feel a hot sensation in my left front pocket and I'd discover the phone was on for hours, battery at single digits, and having sent two texts with the message 'deajojofaeujofaoje' to a few contacts which made for awkward moments, opened a few dozen apps, and activated Samsung Pay.

It got so frustrating I ended up going to 2010 phones for a bit then when they couldn't make phone calls anymore, went to a cheaper A series with none of that. The battery is even better on the $150 Samsung than on the $700 Samsung. You explain that one to me! I thought paying more gave you more. I feel miffed the touch sound is so silent and subtle, as whenever my S4 would turn on in my pocket I'd know by it loudly going 'BWOP BWOP!' over and over again.

You can use the Root Explorer app to edit your hosts as long as your BlueStacks is rooted correctly everything should run smoothly.

You need to root your BlueStacks then edit the hosts file to minimize ads or stop ads completely.

I don't do any Android development so I'm afraid I can't really help you here, but I typically have pretty good luck with Googling the error message.

Using Yahoo! Mail today is like relying on AOL Dial-up today. Why? Work still uses it and it's infuriating.

I prefer using a modern account with either Outlook or Thunderbird, but that's me. Yahoo is aging like K-mart and might not be around for much longer anyway. Time to at least be prepared for that. The data breaches they had over the last few years don't instill confidence in them.
