Help Facebook notifications not working when in deep sleep

Last night i found this:

  1. adb devices
  2. adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable

What application is this icon?

hard to say. we get this question almost on a daily basis. the problem is that there are millions upon millions of apps each with their own notification icons. so unless it is something like Facebook or youtube, it will be hard to determine what it is. you might get lucky and someone here might know it, but do not hold your breath on it.

the easiest way to know is to look into your phone's notifications to find out. but 99.9% of the time, the phone is owned by someone else. you can always just ask the person, but that is not as easy as it sounds i guess.

How would you approach making something like the small player in youtube?

I am trying to make an app which utilizes web components in a webview (but not the built in android webview). What we'd like to accomplish, is that when you hit a button you open a full screen activity, but if you go back, that activity doesn't go away completely but stays in a smaller section on the screen, without losing progress, so that you can click on it and open it up again back and forth seamlessly. A common example of this behavior is something like browsing youtube while viewing a video. The player minimizes to right above the bottom bar, allowing you to browse the app while keeping the video playing with the controls in view (note, this is not the same thing as picture in picture, which is what happens if you exit the app completely while viewing a video).

Would fragments allow this behavior? Or is there something more idiomatic I should look into to achieve this dynamic layout?

Here's a visual for what i mean:

I need my Tab-E to run video for weeks at a time

Thanks for the tips, svim, and the links
I've got the app pinned now (didn't know this was possible, so thanks), and running, so we'll see how long it runs. I don't mind paying for a good third-party app, but I won't rent.
Now that I'm thinking of it, I should probably go through all the phones in the spine and pin the app there, just for good measure. But I'll see how this works out, first.
Again, much appreciated :)

App Similar to Telegram

I know people are using second line international phone
No. And, no, I don't work for them.

https://threema.ch/en

Thanks to state-of-the-art end-to-end encryption, no one other than the intended recipient can read transmitted messages, not even Threema as the service operator. It’s not required to provide any personal data whatsoever: If so desired, Threema can be used completely anonymously, i.e., without disclosing one’s phone number or email address.
Thank you very much, I will try it out to check if I can use it the same as telegram channel!!

Samsung Note 20 flash, imei etc

There is no law that makes changing a mobile device's IMEI a criminal offense.
That depends on where you are. In some jurisdictions it is illegal, e.g. in the UK the Mobile Telephones (Re-programming) Act of 2002 makes changing such an identifier, arranging a change for someone else, or providing the means to do this to someone who you believe has that intent, a criminal offense. The exceptions are if you are the manufacturer or have the manufacturer's written permission; so it's OK for a licensed service center to do this, but probably nobody else.

But one thing that seems to be true in any jurisdiction is that once blacklisted it's very difficult to get anything done about that, especially if you aren't the registered owner. The service providers regard blacklisting as their protection against theft (i.e. buying a subsisided handset and then breaking the contract, which I'm guessing is what happened here), and tend to be a bit inflexible when it comes to lifting it. You can see the sense in that: if all it took to lift the blacklist was a phone call and a sob story it wouldn't be any protection for them at all. But that doesn't make it any easier for someone who finds themselves in your position.

Delete post

I moved this to the suggestion box as it isn't android related. :) Yep, as mentioned, if you want a post deleted just hit the report button. So long as it won't break the conversation to terribly we'll oblige. :) Most times it isn't a problem. :) At the bottom of the post you want deleted you should see the link below:

Just tap the "Report" and let us know you want it deleted and we'll take care of it. If not, we'll let you know why.

Help Facebook Push Notifications Not Working

My first thought is that if something stops on 2 separate devices then far from being "blah, blah" checking the account settings is the obvious place to start: account settings will be common to all devices using the same account (unlike app settings, which apply to the app on a particular device). Your post doesn't make clear whether you have actually done this or not, but uninstalling and reinstalling would do nothing if this is where the problem lies.

To be honest I'd check the app settings and device settings anyway: check that notifications are enabled in the app and check that the system isn't blocking notifications from the app (the two different ways notifications could get turned off). Sure it would be odd for these things to change on both devices, but it's better to spend a minute ruling these things out rather than waste more time because you assume it can't happen (as an example, if you could imagine something happening as a result of an app update then that update would be applied to both devices).

If it's not an account setting or a weird change on both devices I'm afraid the obvious answer is indeed a problem with your Facebook account (or a bug in the FB app that only manifests on a few people's devices). But let's hope not, because I don't have much confidence in them fixing things quickly.
