Follow along with the video below to see how to install our site as a web app on your home screen.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
Thanks. I appreciate the recommendation. That app may be useful later.
I understand a hard reset would be the safest option, but I think I’ll choose not to do it unless I notice more strange activity. As mentioned multiple times, I don’t believe the abuser ever had physical access to my Google Pixel 4a.
I did contact the retailer and confirmed that they transitioned from the m.example.com mobile site to a www.example.com mobile site the same day I noticed the website behavior in Firefox was fixed. One explanation for the strange behavior was they had set up a permanent (HTTP 301) redirect from m.example.com to m.com that cached in Firefox on my device. However, this doesn’t explain why the website worked in Chrome. Can anyone think of another benign explanation?
I take it by “[my] own account” you mean my own Verizon account. If so, I have had my own Verizon account at various points because of my fear of him monitoring my activity or suspending my cell access. I will look into it again soon, I hope.
I did set up two-step verification with my Google account shortly before I posted this thread. Does anyone know what would happen if I lost my cell phone and/or cell phone number? Would Google be able to let me in with other credentials, such as my backup email address? If I remember correctly, Google won’t let someone into an account with two-factor verification via the backup email address alone.
Thanks again.
That's for the user's convenience - you can restart failed downloads, look up where you saved something if you can't find it, etc. It's your history on your browser for your reference - it has nothing to do with privacy, unless you have a habit of letting random strangers use your computer.Ever see the way Firefox keeps a record of everything you download?
If you already know what apps are causing the toasts, then find them in settings, apps, show all, show system, and then deny permission to overlay.
If you are not using these apps anyway, just disable them.
If you are using them, then you may be stuck with it.
This is but one reason why I avoid 'security updates' like The Plague.
Usually it is only forced updates to useless app I don't even want, and as an extra bonus they get permissions and 'features' that make me want them even less.
You may be able to downgrade these apps to their previous state, but all data for them will be erased.
Also, it is a bit involved and tedious.
I use Uptodown, https://en.uptodown.com/ (the app is needed) to find the app(s) and then try to install a version earlier than what is on the device.
You cant do that with a system app, but it CAN erase any updates to that app if you try to uninstall.
(Installing another version is not needed, just the deletion of the updates.)
if you get it, let us know how you like it. boxwave is a pretty good brand. too bad the s-pen is not compatible with this tablet. it is by far the best stylus on the market.Thank you
OK, try going into Settings > Apps and looking for this app there. That should give you the full name, but also is where you can control its permissions and uninstall it if you want. If it was installed from the Play Store you can also uninstall it by finding it in your library of apps there (select it and there will be an uninstall option).
If it's something the manufacturer added you won't be able to uninstall it, but you should be able to disable it and uninstall any updates to it.
I cannot find an app of this name in the play store, but whether that's because it didn't come from there or because the Play Store search is incredibly bad (which it is, despite search being Google's core business) I don't know.
