I have cold food in my hand, which I just pulled out of my fridge. I'm standing right there, in front of the microwave, intending to put it IN the microwave to heat it up. The controls are RIGHT THERE where my hand already is! So what benefit is it to put my food in and then fight Bimbo in a Can to heat it up over my network?

Now Amazon would know how much popcorn we're nuking; how many frozen pot pies and burritos we eat; and how often we make stew. As if Amazon doesn't know enough about us as it is!

A smart microwave ranks down near the bottom of the list of useful gadgets, just above a smart toilet paper dispenser.

Maybe look at Niagra launcher, which I remember is based on a few shortcuts plus an alphabetical app list. Maybe doesn't put everything on (loads of) screens like iOS, but equally is less cluttered and 1990s, and allows you to get to anything from one screen (unlike older iOS where you have to search through many screens).
