1.43 inches is bigger than 40mm? ‍‍

Actually I flipped the other way: decided not to wait, and also to resist my usual temptation to buy higher in the product line than I actually need.

So I have a Forerunner 165 on the way now, which is clearly better than my old Fitbit and a good size for my tastes, so I'm viewing it as an inexpensive intro to the Garmin system.
Look out world ... another Garmin junkie in the making ...

Help Messages on Android: Samsung vs. Google. Which one and why?

Google messages, I've used Textra but not impressed with the results. Messages just does it better. Without all of the fluff.
Actually I have a problem with Messages on my phone: the colours it chooses are very low contrast, which for me is a both a usability and an aesthetic fail.

This is because of the way it uses my system colour palette and theme to set the app colours. It's actually perfectly fine on my wife's phone, but doesn't work on mine. It is better in light mode, and can be improved a bit by changing the phone's palette, but I prefer dark mode and don't want to re-theme my whole phone just for one app, so in practice it just doesn't work for me.

Lost all Contacts

II accidentally deleted all my contacts on my pixel 6 phone. I have tried recovering them from Google contacts with no result. I can open Contacts.Google.com and use my contacts through that but it's not the same as using regular contacts. I have gone around so many circles trying to search out solutions to this problem on the Internet and none of them seem to work, My contacts are available on my PC and I don't know of a way to transfer them to the mobile phone
Hey you should give us on what is up.. Do not be a stranger.

NFL 2O25

The builder I worked for of and on for years and exclusively the last decade or so had a lone son that I got to watch grow up. The builder died just prior to his son's college career where he excelled. He was undrafted this year but the Colts invited him to camp. I just looked and ESPN shows he's still active on their roster. I hope the kid makes it. Like his father, he is a very good guy. His father was a basketball player and fierce competitor. Nuts don't fall far from the tree.
It would be so cool if the kid makes it. Chances are not good but you never know.

Launcher recommendations

You can actually change icons in your app drawer with Nova (or at least Nova Prime - so long since I used free Nova that I can't remember). Just long press on the icon, select edit, choose an icon. In fact if you change the icon in the app drawer it also changes it everywhere else.

I've never had a problem with creating folders, but I prefer to create them in Nova's app drawer settings because that creates folders where I can give the folder a custom icon, nest folders inside folders, place them in the dock, and keep them in an app drawer tab. Very, very much more flexible than the ad hoc "drag a couple of icons on top of each other to make a folder" approach that most launchers provide (including Nova).
In the end it was almost complicated to set the scroll bar colors with other colors as well..
But over all it was pretty decent until it crashed a bit on my moto edge cell..
