Hi All,

I am trying to connect company-owned / unmanaged Android 11 devices to a Cisco WAP SSID using our public certificate wireless.fqdn

For my Galaxy A20 Android 11 phone , when connecting the SSID the phone returns:
'couldn't connect to network'
'couldn't authenticate connection'

On the NPS Server, the wireless.fqdn certificate is installed in the Certificates (Local Computer) Personal / Certificates container

We are using Windows NPS/PEAP/MS-CHAPv2 which I believe requires a certificate on the server-side only
I believe PEAP encapsulates the EAP type MS-CHAPv2 authentication in a secure TLS tunnel.

As a further configuration item, I installed the wwireless.fqdn certificate into the cert store on my Android device (User certificates, installed for WiFi)

NPS / RADIUS Server is Windows Server 2016 Datacenter
NPS Role installed with the following Windows NPS Policy

Connection Request Policy:
Wireless connections, NAS Port Type: wireless - other or wireless IEEE 802.11

Network Policy: Staff
CONDITIONS:
Wireless - Other OR Wireless IEEE 802.11
Windows Groups: ADDSGroup
Calling Station ID: ^[^:]+:SSID$

CONSTRAINTS:
EAP TypesMicrosoft: Protected EAP (PEAP)
Edit / certificate issued to: wireless.fqdn
Issuer: DigiCert TLS RSA SHA256 2020 CA1
Enable Fast Reconnect
EAP Type:
Seure password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)

Android 11:
I got into settings / biometrics and security
Other security settings
PFX user certificates: wireless.fqdn installed for WiFi (contains root/intermediate/cert chain)
View security certificates / system / CA root
No user certificates

Click the WiFI SSID / manage
EAP method: PEAP
Enter identity / password
CA certificate: Use system certificates (if I choose 'select certificate' there is nothing to select, android stated in a red color "CA certificate must be selected")
Online certificate status: don't validate
Domain: wireless.fqdn

When connecting to the SSID the phone returns:
'couldn't connect to network'
'couldn't authenticate connection'

MAC of Android phone not in NPS logs

Let us know, as it may help others.

Try creating a temporary test contact entry either on your phone in the Contacts app or through your online Google account at
https://contacts.google.com
and then see if that test entry prompts the syncing process.
If you haven't actually done anything that involves the Contacts app or your Google account Contacts since April 16th, perhaps this is all just a matter where there was nothing to actually be synced that time. And if that is the case, don't forget to delete that test contact entry.

These features are definitely on the phones I've got, with Android 10(Huawei Mate10) and 11(Samsung Note20 Ultra). I guess removal was something LG has done on their particular devices.

Thank you for your suggestion. It sounds like the way to go. But I'll install it on only one phone to compare when/if the next mystery switch occurs.

Well if you read the posts....... it will depend on how you rooted will determine if you have to re- root the phone, after doing the factory reset. And yes a factory reset will erase the malware, if that is what you have.

@ocnbrze bro yes I know magisk root by writing in boot partition and super user and other method write on system partition and twrp on recovery partition ...but kingoroot iroot one click write a bulk of files garbage files....but super user user writes minimum files ....but I foud magisk procedure little complicated it patches the boot.img and that boot image it patch is provided from 3rd party can we patch our original adb pull .../mmcblck0p24/ boot.img file self copied by. I doubt the 3rd party boot.img may not be modified so is did not used it

@ocnbrze bro thanx for telling factory reset will erase malware spyware virus but what about after factory reset new fresh os loaded files installed will have super user booted files as super user was installed in system partition...or is should factory reset after unistalling unrooting super user...and reinstall re-root after factory reset..
Or first recover twrp backup the nandroid backup which way should I go...

Settings>Apps>Apps>Nine>Notifications>Alert - No sound

Question Why different file size Adb pull vs twrp data image size of userdata.img

In my lyf water 7 mobile device having 16gb internal memory and 2 gb ram and 16gb external sd card

I had first factory rest my mobile with and formatted my external s d card with no user apps or data installed then I decided to root it and before that want to take a backup

I had loaded twrp recovery (fastboot boot twrprecovery.img) in bootloader mode and took NANDROID backup of system boot cache userdata through twrp backup menu and through adb pull tool all partitions backup of mmcblk0 and system boot recovery userdata and all in other partitions in devices.

Now the backup image size of data taken by twrp in ext4 file system is 2.5 gb whereas adb pull in pc fat32 created file size of 13.5 gb. I think it created file for empty sectors to why both file size of same partition backup is different

Is there any parameter syntax of adb pull way to compress or not trim or not to take empty sectors backup or compres file

I had founded a command "adb shell dd if gz" to compress file but it can't be flashed by fastboot flash command. Is there any way to manually create a flashable compressed file through adb pull or ignore empty space while creating NANDROID image backup so that small file created which can be stored online or in flash drives easily.


Summary brief to clarify
I mean to say that as in same newly formatted factory reseted mobile device (10gb of android system files 16gb of total rom) partition when i took twrp backup datatwrp(ext4).img (as it took file backup image) is compressed to of 3.4 gb (10gb android os system files) and the same device data pulled by adb pull .../mmcblkp30 userdata.img (which creates partititon image backup) image created is of 13.5 gb (10gb out of toral 16gb rom) so the be adb pull userdata.img image file size (13.5gb) is more than the data files size inside internal rom can we decrease that backup size either by zero filling (unused space) or triming the empty space of internal memory or any parameter in adb pull command compresion tool (like gz) can be used with by adb pull command

Renaming the files is an option.

However, the apps suggested are sure to enhance your Android experience.

Everything on that device is run from an app.
All you are doing is increasing its capabilities and therefore your enjoyment of it.

That is the beauty of Android.

Another option is to go to your local library- free Wi-Fi.

Also, most fast food places, Wal-Mart, laundry mats, etc.
I even set up my latest device in Wal-Mart's parking lot, using their Wi-Fi for a connection.

@ocnbrze bro okay but in India I don't think cellular companies provide such service they sell Chinese phone with their brand name I have to purchased 5 year before this mobile lyf water 7 (the mobile device I asked in question)from Jio India as they were giving free unlimited 4gb as launching offer for first 6 moths but mobile config is no ot much but they cost high 8k -12k

I'm new to the forum and the Firestick. I have a Firestick Lite 3rd Generation. When I go to Preferences and try to turn off notifications on each app. It throws me out. Basically, I'm not able to turn apps off. They all remain in the ON position.

With Touch Sensitivity turned OFF the issue isn't nearly as bad... while it's still there, it isn't as infuriating.

It is just the stock messaging app that Android comes with. I have downloaded Textra to see if that remedied the problem, and it persisted while in that app but have since deleted it.

Another option is to use a calling app, like Dingtone, that allows for call recording.

The last I looked, call recording is a feature that was basically phased out by Google, and Google had little to no interest in bringing it back.

Yes, although I have yet to break a screen unintentionally, the majority of my aquaintences that have had a glass screen protector installed.

This will usually break before the screen does, and is replaceable.

Also, if the screen does get cracked or broken, the screen protector will often keep the screen together for quite some time.

What is a frp scatter file? What do you mean by scatter code? Never heard of these terms associated with Android.

This same issue has happened to my Motorola G7, I noticed it not giving new message indication about 2 weeks ago, pretty sure I did not allow any updates and have no apps running but one game (bubble pop).
