Is the receiver of a file in whatsapps able to see the file original name?

If I have a photo or video named happybirthday2021.jpg, happybirthday2021.mp4 and I send this photo/video via whatsapp to my friend, can the recipient see the filename happybirthday2021.jpg, happybirthday2021.mp4?

It seems like the receiver whatsapp will create a new filename, not sure if the receiver have any function to see the original file name or not.

In case anybody else is looking for this, I found "my" solution:

Settings > Apps > Phone Services > App Info > Notifications >
In there the "Allow Notifications" was turned off! So I turned it on, and then set it so that everything in there was also on...voila!

So looking at Verizon's site there are some really good phones offered at zero cost, but it's really important to note that's a zero cost up front but you're still going to be paying for that 'free' phone, the cost being spread out over the monthly payments you have to make over whatever contract period. Verizon isn't going to be giving any phones away as some kind of social service, it's going to be making a lot of money on your account with them with that 'free' phone. It's a clever (a.k.a 'devious') way to pull in customers, a spin on the classic bait-n-switch tactic retail stores use.
It might be worth your time to pick one of the more viable options for your son, and look into how much you'd pay for that same model if you bought it as is somewhere else (i.e. Amazon). This is the hard part in that you need to guestimate the total cost of that phone over the time period of your entire contract with Verizon -- the messy part being the phone cost minus the cost of the cellular services used. Try looking into the 'bring your own phone' account cost as a comparison, again guestimating the price you'd pay for the phone plus the cost of the account usage. Lots of variables involved but the cellular companies add a lot of markup to those 'free' phones.
Also, keep in mind that carrier-locked phones are a) locked to that specific carrier so, just as an example, you find the Verizon coverage sucks you'll be paying big bucks as a 'early termination' fee to switch to a different, better carrier and b) typically loaded with a lot of carrier-specific bloatware. A carrier-unlocked phone allows you a lot more freedom (just be aware not only is carrier bloatware an issue but there's also manufacturer bloatware).

Anyway, there a number of good budget-class Android phones available these days. The news media and a lot of people fixate on just pricey flagship models but there's also reality and what the majority of consumers actually use:

The file structure is not the issue. When I checked the files on the tablet from the computer they were perfect. Its the tablet that shows them differently as they are storaged inside. But it's only with the predetermined "Documents" folder, so probably your solution would work too.

I live in Argentina.
Whenever I receive a phone call from +54 11 xxxx-xxxx and I have that number associated with Roger in my contacts, Roger is identified. But if I don't pick up for whatever reason, I get an SMS reporting the missed call. The number which originates the SMS is reported as +54 9 11 xxxx-xxxx, and Roger is not identified. If I add +54 9 11 xxxx-xxxx as a number for Roger, the SMS ID is correctly updated, which confirms the SMS app has access to my contacts. I shouldn't need replicating the number for all my contacts.

Currently using Android 11, Samsung S10e.
This was working fine in my previous Android 8, Samsung J7 prime, prior to my Smart Switch.

How can I fix this?

After trying a solution in Android Enthusiasts I realized the problem was the extra 9.
I didn't try syncing numbers stored in the phone with my Google account as in another solution in Android Enthusiasts (and I am not sure my problem is the same as that other). SMS ID should not rely on Google, and I didn't need that with Android 8. I guess the OS (or the app?) should take care of that.

More details - How this was working before the phone switch
I was using a Samsung J7 prime with Android 8, with the same sim card and mobile provider as I use now. I am right now checking in my old phone a message that I received, with number +54 9 11 xxxx-xxxx, and SMS ID is correct. The same message, in my new phone (transferred via Smart Switch) is not SMS-IDentified.

More details - How are phone numbers built
Phone numbers are built as +(Country) (Area) (Number) as usual, with a possible extra 9 after the country code, or a possible extra 15 after the area code.
The historical reasons for those extra numbers, and when were they mandatory (calling from abroad/within Argentina, phone call/SMS, calling from mobile/landline, calling to mobile/landline, etc.) are a separate issue. These rules kept confusing people, in particular foreigners. Nowadays networks are smart enough, the rules are mostly (I wouldn't dare saying 100%) not needed. You could also use +(Country) (Area) (No.) from within Argeninta; before, that was not allowed, 0(Area) (No.) was needed from within Argentina. I am not certain, but I think even (Area) (No.) works. This is similar to what happens in other countries.

So if I call using +54 9 11 xxxx-xxxx, it will likely work well, the same as if I use +54 11 xxxx-xxxx or 011 xxxx-xxxx.

54: Argentina
9: Prefix for mobile numbers
11: Buenos Aires
xxxx-xxxx: phone number

Then there is the issue of Caller / SMS ID for inbound calls and messages.

How can I enable this feature in the end?
By the way, I also have an Oppo smartphone. I have been using it for over a year. All was good. But today my smartphone suddenly turned off and won't turn on anymore. What could be the reason? Could it be because of the battery? Or what spare-parts-mobile.com oppo spare parts do I need to order for repair?

Hello --- sorry to be so long to reply / update ---- I have been struggling with a major Windows PC problem, now largely resolved. I was wrong in saying the DND problem was solved, it still continues to switch on DND erratically. I will ask about Safe Mode and another issue in new threads

MOV? Are you using a really ancient version of Apple QuickTime or something?

Many contemporary media players should be able play MP4 from a Galaxy S21 no problems, with no need to convert anything. As @Dannydet suggested, try using VLC.

Good day everyone so I'm trying to set a click listener on icons like this bottom nav bar here,it's a custom nav bar I'm making using custom view,the issue is there's no way to call an onclick listener on any of the icons because they were added programmatically and not directly on the layout like buttons or text views,so I just need the logic on how I will add an onclick function or better still override it so it can work with these icons that are added programmatically to the nav bar.

You'd be surprised! Every week I receive glossy mailers from local Realtors showing pics and pricing info on houses they've recently sold, or have just listed. Almost every one of the 'sold' houses will say "all cash" sale. Here's a nearby house that sold recently, and although this one doesn't say all-cash, I'm sure it was:



The reason I say I'm sure it was all-cash is because of the type of house it is and the amount over asking they paid; it's the kind of house that routinely gets bulldozed the day after its ownership changes hands. Like mine would if I ever sold it. In its place will go a GIGANTIC McMansion like the one directly across the street from me, which replaced a beautiful, charming, NORMAL sized house. I watched it being bulldozed--took pictures, too. Sad....

Anyway, back to the point: there are plenty of cash buyers. Here in Arcadia, houses routinely sell for 6, 7, 10+ million dollars and they're all-cash deals. Who's buying them? People from various Asian countries. And a few celebrities.

If you insist upon using Google, I highly recommend that you do it via an alternative browser- preferably something that uses Android System Webview.

ASW is a built in app on all Android devices- it allows apps to show you web content.
It is by far the fastest and in my experience the best way around the web with a phone.

BTW, a phone is my ONLY way around the web.

There is a browser that I stand behind, and there are other versions with additional features floating around.

Try it out and see if you agree that none are faster, and you would also be hard pressed to find more secure.

Don't forget that on some devices, Chrome acts as the webview.
You should go into developers options and set Android System Webview as the default webview app.

Hi, I was developing my first App.

I have several fragments in my project.
I saved my project and to go out.

When I started my project again one of fragment "fragment1_layout.XML, was not showing the design.
The window, where the design normally appears, was empty.
The other fragments of the design are OK. I can see the layouts design fine.

Is it possible to recover from this error?
The XML file is still there.

Also the app was installed on my phone just before the I closed the project.
Can it be recovered from it?

SOLUTION: I bought OEM OLED display, which was not original so the sensor can not work properly. Changing to ORIGINAL one have solved this problem.

tbh i would recommend that you take these 3 phones and just recycle them. Best Buy will take them off of your hands for you. if you need a phone, just buy one of those pay as you go phones....or a burner phone.

I already unlocked it, thanks , it was hard because the screen, but it run games so well (using a screen mirror app on pc) 4gb of ram 64gb of storage, my cousin paid 2000 brazilian real on it, and here a phone with this hardware is expensive, but I am very happy that now is working.
Now I will try to fix the alcatel a5 that my cousin give me too, it think it's water damaged

Google stopped supporting it years ago, as did almost all independent developers so the OS is way out of date along with the apps that are on it. The odds are the battery is dead so using it probably involves having to have it plugged in all the time or unplugged for a few minutes at a time.

I discovered that it is hard bricked, because it is freezing when try to flash.
I was trying to fix it because my 5 years old cousin like to play minecraft even if is a old version, but I have only a android 4.0.4 tablet, and it work but it has only 512mb of RAM.

I am working on an app, and I need to pass a buffer of audio data from kotlin to a C function. The prototype of the C function is :

I saw in the Kotlin web page that kotlin is abble to pass pointer to C code with object pinning So I tried to write this code on my kotlin file :


But when I compile I have this error :
I know I can use the env function GetShortArrayElements but the function may involve a copy of the initial array and I don't want that so I cannot use it.

My question is: how can I pass a Kotlin ShortArray as a pointer to a native c function if the way provided by the language doesn't work (I use Android Studio v2020.3.1 Patch 2)?
