why are people still using android boxes? google chromecast is sooooooo much better. it is cheap and very easy to install. you can even mirror your phone. my friend mirrors his phone to his tv wirelessly and he uses a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, thus making his phone to tv a computer of sorts.

all of the android boxes i see are not made from popular brands and thus support for them are terrible. they always have issues and to me are just too much of a headache. i use my chromecast everyday. it is so simple to use and never had any problems.

not all phones are rootable. you need to do your research at https://www.xda-developers.com/. this is where developers will publish their goodies. on there you will find ways to root devices, flash custom recoveries as well as flash custom roms. if there is no forum, then that means there is no development community supporting your device.

just remember no devs=no fun.

Comfirmed that the app battery usage is now tota\lly negigable and not even on the charts.

Not been on mobile data only and in range of the wifi network used for connection so I don't know if they fixed it though.

Also, just an additional on airdroid, you need to be on the same wifi as the PC with browser or pay for an account which would suck. Did you sus the navigation for local network connection @Milo Williamson

Anyways we can block crpyto related all sites in host.txt file of an android an do some security tweaks and we should not browse any infected or pirated site can prevent us from these stuff while Linux Kernal OS doesn't seems in this practice as we have not proper news on it, but we have only news of data leaks and related to it that's it.

You don't really need an app. You can set a contact number to dial the number with the pauses embedded by using commas. A comma is a 2-3 second delay so an example of what you describe would be

1-800-555-1234,,,,,1,,,,,,,,,,123456789

The number is dialed. A pause for 10-15 seconds dial one and then pause for 30-40 seconds and dial the 9 digit number.

I don't know about Keep Notes as I don't use that, but actual text correction is purely a keyboard feature. I've not use GBoard lately, but I've no memory of it correcting when I didn't tell it to, and I don't know how easy it is to rule out that you may have accidentally touched the suggestion bar if it only happens occasionally. But if the settings are as you want them and you aren't happy with the behaviour then as others have said the answer is to try a different keyboard app - just remember that as a different app will have slightly different key spacings (though some let you customise that) your muscle memory will need a little time to adjust.

I put a new LCD screen on it which I've done many many times over the years , it vibrates connects to the pc , when I turn it on it kind of half lights up you can just barely see it light up and after a minute or two it starts to click I've even successfully flashed it but still does the same, I even put it all back in the original screen and chassis but got the same result, cheers

Being that it is a tablet and not a phone, I don't know if your device has a proximity sensor.
An app to turn off the screen when this sensor is covered would be ideal in this situation, but my guess is that proximity sensors are on phones, not tablets.
(They are what turns off the screen when you put the phone to your ear.)

@puppykickr bro there is no advanced menu option settings>advanced in android 5.1.1 lolipop and android 6.1 marshemellow in my devices is there any way to activate from developer option or in rooted phone can it be activated from adb shell commands

Personally I'd think it more important to warn you which ones you haven't restricted, but I don't have Google's mindset .

But if you know that Game Booster (a name that would have me looking for the uninstall or disable buttons, as all "booster" apps are invariably junk) has only used 10kB you now know how to check their data usage, and if you don't use these apps much it's no surprise that they aren't using much. So I don't see any problem here myself.

As noted in another thread, you can see how much data they are using: click on the app name in that list and it will tell you. "Restricted" just means that they aren't allowed to access data in the background.

Did you eventually figure this out? Having an almost identical problem

codesplice, as I've said, the new system doesn't work. Two weather apps I heavily use written by professional developers no longer work. One leaves me at at my origination during my entire 500 mile drive. Thursday morning I found myself trying to get it to update while approaching what appeared to be heavy rain in the Des Moines area. I hit the location update button several times to no avail, force stopped and restarted it several times, findally did a hard reboot on my phone. It never updated my location.

The other app that is radar only correctly loaded my position on startup (meaning the phone was receiving gps from the satellites). But that's all it did. It used to follow me for the entire 535 mile drive. Now it will only update when I press the gps icon. I'm forced to press the gps icon ever time I want an update.

Friday on my return to Minnesota, one app previously mentioned showed me in Kansas, the app I use as my backup log in case the ELD goes down showed me in St. Paul (not even close to where I was), the tracking app I wrote was the closest. It said I was 10 miles away. None of the apps were accessing my current location, even when I was finally able to manully update the log book app by pressing on the location button (which is illegal while driving).

Thanks for responding, but I have better things to do with my time than to try to write apps for a system that professionals can't get to work.

This is something only your carrier can fix. As mentioned, take it to your carrier.

I did try the app for a short time, in order to keep them from pestering me about it- but the site is better and so I quickly ditched the app.

I am actually using a mobile for a base.
I use an old Cobra 77x that I installed a power supply from an old camcorder on top of it.

It puts out about 19w at full modulation, and still only deadkeys at 4.25w.

I also have an old handheld, a 40 channel that puts out 5w.
No way that thing was safe to hold up to your head and use, lol.

I have an external mic for it, and hook it to other antennas like you do.

I built a full size (18 foot) center feed halfwave dipole and can talk 13 miles even if it is on the ground (bottom tip is about a foot from touching ground).

This is far from ideal, as that antenna would need to be about 36 feet above ground at the feedpoint for best results (0° take off angle).

Of course, being center feed makes this basically impossible.

But even on the ground, the feedpoint is still 9 feet up and it is super easy to tune, as I mounted a telescoping radio antenna onto the bottom tip.

I actually use television coax (RG-6QS, for satellite TV) for this and my base- at the lengths that I need it has less loss than if I used the 'proper' cable.
I can get 50 foot lengths with ends attached for $6 or so.
There is some math involved to find the right length of coax to offset the difference in resistance, but it seems to be worth it.

Sounds like you want to do a rather heavyweight work-flow there. Quite frankly I wouldn't want to attempt this sort of multi-media production on a phone, and would use an appropriately specced laptop instead, using something like Adobe Premier, Sony Vegas, or Apple Final Cut(Mac only) for the video work.Also 200-400 apps? What apps will you actually be using for example?

They mention HTC. But HTC has been out of the smart-phone business for a while now. As for anything else, like Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo, etc. I'm pretty sure non of them support adopdable storage, well not without rooting, and other modifications.
