Same here: I can find nothing that suggests anything later than Android 6 was ever released for the M8s. And I've not only looked for official software but also custom ROMs based on it (which would certainly not stick with an earlier Android version than the official releases).

In general if you don't have anything showing in the software updates menu your only option is to find a compatible RUU (ROM Upgrade Utility) with newer software. "Compatible" is important: unless you have modified the phone (specifically gained S-Off) a carrier-branded HTC won't accept software that doesn't have the same carrier, an unbranded phone won't accept software intended for a different region, etc.

If you are prepared to root the device (not everyone is up for such things, and it may mean that some apps stop working so do your research first) then looking in the XDA development forum for this model I can see ROMs based on more recent versions of Android. But those based on more recent versions seem to be based off AOSP sources rather than HTC firmware, so there would be a change in interface in addition (you lose the HTC Sense interface and all HTC apps).

I would like to create an Android application with rapidly varying histograms, ideally at 60 fps. I'd like it not to be fullscreen but in a tab with text displayed around it.

With the classic classes of android.graphics, it seems that this is impossible and you have latency as soon as you go over several line drawings per second and it easily takes a second to trace the whole histogram. What better api/framework can I use ? Vulkan, Unity or other?

Trying to start Android development with Android Studio via Tutorial.

But when I want to make a new class I'm getting just a short dialogue where I can choose from class, enum, annotation and interface and name it.

All options like package, superclass, modifiers etc are missing.

Everywhere in the Internet it shows these options in the dialogue.

Can anybody tell me how to enable the full dialogue?

Maybe giving up on the tablet completely as many modern apps are incompatible.

I've yet to find anything that will change the sound while on a call.

I tried to call 18002274825 a ten digit phone number and I got the message that the number is blocked for all customers. Thi number was to report a stolen or losr credit card. my phone crrier is CHATR. Not very reliable in my opinion. If the problem that some people had was that they needed a ten digit phone number, that is what the message shouls have said . not that the number is blocked.it seems that the programmer took a big shortcut on that one.

That's a different question, nothing to do with uninstalling updates to the app.

I don't know because I never used it and have no idea how it worked. But if it cannot be accessed using a web browser and even the older app versions don't show it then as far as you are concerned it is gone. Whether Google simply deleted the data or whether they keep the information about who had messaged who in their ad-targetting database ("X is interested in vintage postcards and Y messaged X on YouTube so let's send ads for vintage postcards to Y") I can't say. But if it's not available through YouTube then even if Google kept a copy somewhere else you won't be able to use it.

Best I can suggest is you go completely through your Google account data and see if there is anything in your history there. If there isn't (and I doubt there will be) then just give up on it.

Hello guys I've bought my Note 10 plus just yesterday and also wanted a nice subtle way of receiving notifications while my screen was off so i remembered about the edge lighting and i encountered the absolutely same problem as most of you: certain apps worked only for screen on. After a little searching and playing around I found out that the problem for while the screen was off is that the edge lighting replaces the screen wake up for notifications and funny enough such feature isn't actually implemented by Samsung... called Glimpse Notifications which will wake up your screen for notifications and then enable the Edge Lighting however you want, whether for Only while screen is off or always and whenever you receive a notification while your phone is locked and screen is off Edge Lighting will work and show your info however you styled it and with the default app colors you have set. 16 thousand images in an album* not 16k albums lol.

Its about 28gb of space though so I keep it on a 64gb microsd card

Use a file explorer app instead to access the images.
Then again, why not just use Google photos, which automatically backs them up to the cloud and you'll free up that SD card also. 16,411 images will be lost if that card fails one day...
