I have had 2 of these ALCATEL MY FLIP phones, and they both do the same thing! I press a speed dial key and the screen shows a rotating circle with SENDING but nothing happens, and then finally it shows Connection Problem or Invalid MMI code. What could this be? the phone is working properly on every other function! Thanks John

The correct answer is that USB default setting is for recharge. The Hidden Menu can be enabled that will set up Dev Tools submenu. It has a MTB process toggle to enable selecting for various USB cable operations (eg, data transfer, FTP and photos only.

To enable the Hidden Menu: Go to settings, all the way to bottom. About Device>Tap multiple times on Build Number to activate it.
Thereafter, Developer Options Menu will show just below Security on main settings. Turn the toggle for this menu ON at the top of the page

The USB selection toggle is about half way down the list of available modules

DO NOT FOOL WITH ANY OTHER SETTINGS in this menu.

Once activated, when you plug in your USB, a popup menu will allow you to choose among USB settings.

You might be able to find a smart phone repair support center near you (many small companies have accounts with major cellphone manufacturers).
The can repair cracked screens - have it looked it to see if the cost is much less than replacing the phone.

Otherwise, consider purchasing a factory refurbished model from Amazon.

The Samsung Galaxy Nine/+ models can be purchased at considerable discount now that models 10 and new model 20 is on the market.

Updates for these phones should be supported by Samsung for another year.

My snoring has been described as a freight train passing close by and recorded through walls much to my embarrassment.
No sleep apnea though. So I got that...

I used to own a Power 1 and it had a killer battery life when i first got it - 2 sometimes more full days on a charge. but after a few weeks it dropped to one day, then even less. But when i tried to find out what apps were draining my battery, i got a blank screen saying "battery usage data unavailable" (see screenshot)

I am noticing that in the last month or so (possibly casued by the update) my phone doesnt always register the first touch. If im about to send a text message for example, I have to hit twice. Almost like the first touch is to wake it up.

Come to think of it, as I type, I have to touch it twice sometimes. I have vibration activated (heptic feedback) as well and it doesnt vibrate when it doesnt register. Its not just with the text app, it can be with a notepad or when im playing chess. I have to repeat the "grabbing/touching" of the piece sometimes. Super annoying.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Given the tether/hotspot feature is so prevalent in smartphones, the only thing I can think of is to remove your SIM card before going into the premises every day. No SIM card, no tethering nor hotspoting is possible.
Of course that also means no phone calls or SMS, unless you can work around that using your workplace's WiFi (i.e. if you have a Google Voice number).

You're going to find it much easier to view that file on a computer/laptop than on any phone. That file is just too large (H x W) with such a high resolution that viewing it on a phone's diminutive display isn't viable anyway. Heck, viewing that image on 25" LCD monitor doesn't adequately show it off properly.
Of if you don't have access to a computer, just use a web browser to access the online posting. NASA also provides a scaled down version

As you're experiencing, your phone is only able to get partial use of AT&T's cellular service. As that link indicates, AT&T uses bands 12 and 17 for its 4G service while Verizon uses band 13. Yes, there's some overlap with some other bands but they are all just secondary, incidental ones. It's those primary bands that matter. Your SIM card just retains your cellular service account info, it's what is used to authenticate your phone to use their cellular service. As far as changing APN settings, that's just text. Configuration data isn't going to alter any phone to use cellular bands it doesn't already support. Perhaps a graphic might clarify why this is a hardware issue;

It's the logic board of a Moto Z2 Force. One of those microchips is the cellular radio chip. That chip is the interface between your phone and the wireless signal from your carrier. The issue that isn't easily bypassed is that chip is also, by design, only going to work with specific cellular bands. Which unfortunately doesn't appear to be the ones AT&T uses for 4G/LTE. That's why there's a hardware issue involved that software isn't going alter. Also, those chips are soldered to the board so they're not readily replaceable, so it's not a matter where you can just have it replaced. There was for a time a push to make smartphones more modular, so things like storage and radio chips could be easily exchanged, but that trend sadly faded into obscurity.

Hi, recently upgraded from an M to an L3. Cant seem to send emojis in texts without using up at least 1 1/2 messages instead of 3 charachters. And how do you star messages? I can only see starred messages in Whatsapp, not messages?

Yep got it too in the UK, all ok except Google Photos seems to be borked pretty badly/not uploading pics, device folders not refreshing quickly, new pics within those folders not showing, getting stuck backing up large folders or single pics, cache/data reset/restarts etc are not working for me. Eventually i can get it to backup pics, but only by messing around turning options on and off, moving pics in file manager beforehand, manual uploads.

Oh and batt life is definitely worse than in Android9, but that could just be the age of the battery, not sure.

So for years I've liked to listen to podcasts while I play mobile games. This has never been a problem before. Especially when I am at home connected to wi-fi, I usually just stream the podcast in Chrome. But tonight I was listening to a podcast that way, and when I opened a game the sound shut off. OK. Maybe some hitch in some recent update. So I downloaded the podcast to my phone and opened it in my music player, which has also always been able to play over other apps in the notification bar up top. Same thing. As soon as I opened a couple different games, it was the same, media in the notification bar immediately stops playing. But here's the weird thing... it doesn't pause. It's still playing in the background, only muted. Also, if I go to try to adjust the volume while all this is happening all the bars are grayed out and unslideable. What gives? What setting has changed, how do I undo this option?

tl;dr I want to be able to have audio from one app, open in the notification bar, playing over other apps. This never used to be a problem but suddenly is. Please help, thank you. I have an LG v30 running android 9 (pie)
