How do I remove Auto Boost?

It's amazing how many junk/adware/spyware vendors hide it in flashlight apps. Especially since these are simple apps, and the only permission they actually need is "camera" (which is needed to turn the flash on on many devices), which makes it simple to spot if they are asking for permissions that are not needed to do their task (which is generally a bad sign) and not install them if they are.

Sync

Not just a screen, but as an external touchpad. And then that there is software that will allow you to both mirror the display and forward the touch commands to the phone.

Note that it may also matter what type of phone you have. Some older phones can output video using a MHL adapter, but that won't allow you to use an external touch device at the same time. More recent ones can use a USB-C to HDMI cable, but I expect that to have the same limitation. So I guess you are looking for a USB-to-USB connection, which will require software support from both devices.

SO accurate. ""NOT"", OK GUYS TELL WHY THIS IS ONLY HAPPENS TO MY PHONE????

Actually I use GPS only and never get notifications about needing access. Perhaps because I don't use those apps, but I've never allowed network-based location and this has never been a problem for me.

The only app that currently ever complains is Google Maps, and that's just because wireless location gives more information to Google and so they occasionally nag/lie to you to turn it on. I just dismiss those when they appear, which isn't often (it's not to do with getting a location fix, because I already have one when the message appears, so I conclude that it's just Google trying to get me to unnecessarily change my settings to what serves them better).

Tecno W4

with 1 gig of ram?????

.......i hope most folks would move on. now days you need a phone with at least 3 gig of ram, if you want to fully use the phone. now if you just plan to use the phone to only make phone calls and text, i guess you can get by with it.

Phone Security Compromised?

I had a bubble pop up a couple of times that was grey and said "purchase failed :-("
When it's happened, was there anything else, like something prompting you to do some action, or just the gray box saying 'purchase has failed'? Does the gray box go away on its own?
has anyone seen this before im concern for phone security?
No, I've never seen it. But I don't think it rises to the level of having been hacked, or anything like that.

Were you using the same app each time it happened? Which app(s)?

Did it start soon after installing something new?

Whatever you do, don't click anything unexpected--like that gray box or anything it spawns!

Just hoping 2 find out

If you had NO security on your phone they could look at it without you knowing (while you're in the john without your phone), and if you were silly enough to have your Google account password stored in an obvious location in plain text format ... then I suppose they could steal your credentials and browse your account at their leisure, but you'd have to almost be serving it to them on a pillow. Tell me you don't do that.

App to stream from phone to tv box

Have a look here.

How to turn Android into AirPlay / DLNA Media Receiver

Of course I don't have an iOS device myself, so can't provide any more help.

I suspect the Apple "geniuses" will tell you to buy an Apple TV if want to stream from an iPhone.

Thank you! I will check it right now

YouTube video freezes

Try connecting to a different WiFi network (i.e. at work or a friend's home) and see if that same problem occurs.

But regarding your home WiFi network, are you connecting this phone to a 2.4GHz band network or a 5GHz band one? Have you tried switching from one to the other as test? (... the general rule is 2.4GHz provides more coverage range and can penetrate things like drywall better while 5GHz provides better bandwidth speeds, but there's a lot of overlap between the two in real world usage.)
You might also want to try setting up a guest network, using just its default configuration as a test, and see if that same problem is occurring.

Do you have any kind of anti-virus/anti-malware app installed on this phone? If so try disabling it to see if that results in any improvement. And/or is there a VPN service set up on this phone, or on your router?

Well my home Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz bandwidth and I have none VPN or antivirus programs. No, guest network didn't fix it, as I already mentioned, everything runs fine on my iPad mini 3 and PC. But I've noticed even more - this little frame freeze appears at the beginning and each time I'm trying to scroll it forward, so conclusion is that it appears only when trying to scroll video forward and on the beginning (which at some point is scrolling itself), so it may be related to my phone more than Internet itself?

WhatsApp Sticker App (based in official model)

Hi! I'm trying to make an app with a WhatsApp Sticker Pack, but the Android Studio simply refuses to compile the signed apk to play store upload because of a specific variable, that the studio says that doesn't exist.

If i change the variable name to a variable that i know that exist, or simply change the code to "text" or (String)"Text" the Studio simply change the error!

How can i make to build my apk?

Great phone if you're not a klutz (like me)

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Luckily I haven't dropped mine, yet...
I didn't expect to :P It definitely cheesed me off, I was being really careful, I'd used the P2 the same way with no issues, but apparently it's just not wise for me to take chances like that. I bought a waterproof case for it (that thing is fugly but it'll work for those times I need to be extra careful) - but I'm definitely watching for P4 deals again (they just had it for 100 off at the Google store but I'll wait for a bigger sale or price drop.

It is a really nice phone for the price, though. Other than this user issue on my end  it's a great phone & I'm happy with it, so thanks for putting the idea in my head to look closer at it.

Can't use volume booster appthey don't work on my T-Mobile revelry anybody else have this problem?

Android has a strange and sometimes problematic set up for volume boosters, equalizers, surround sound, and the like.

Typically, you can use only one at a time, and often the device has one built in already that can be on without you knowing it- therefore disabling the one that you want on.

When this occurs with my devices, I usually have to reboot them, and then the app I want to use will work.

Also, most volume 'boosters' typically don't really make the device any louder than it already can be.

Two that I have found are EQ FX from UpToDown and SpeakerBoost from APK Pure.

If you want ad-free, then use versions 2.0 for EQ FX and 2.03 for SpeakerBoost.

EQ FX has a loudness control that boosts sound and also a virtualizer that helps as well.

SpeakerBoost is an actual booster, but with this comes a warning- if you play sounds too loud using the app you can actually damage the device. This is clearly explained when you first open the app.

Both are fully user controlled as to the amount of each effect.

Help please

Before you switch carriers, see if any of your friends with different carriers can go with you to wherever your phone doesn't work.

See if their phones work.

Then see who has the best signal.

I only say this because there are still some areas that have virtually no cellular coverage, and in that case you need something else.

For a friend of mine, I went to his home with two different phones from two different carriers.

Neither one worked well at his house.

But he does have good Wi-Fi, so I helped him set up a VoIP app on his phone to use his Wi-Fi instead of cellular when he is at home.
