Just for an idea of the built-in power of Linux, please read the first post in what turned into our Linux mega-thread.

In it, I explain how to replace spaces in filenames, like:
This Is A File

with underscores:
This_Is_A_File

(Spaces in filenames, while always allowed in *nix, aren't desirable for assorted reasons.)

As you read the code, keep in mind I'm strictly using commands that come standard with virtually all UNIX/Linux systems. There's no app to buy, nothing to search for online, just built-in tools.

I wouldn't expect you to plunge in and know how to write a script like that; that's not my point. The point is that not only is Linux more secure, stable, and beautiful (as in infinitely customizable) than window$, its built-in tools put window$ to shame.

Agreed. That is why I said, "most". However, they both will suffer from ersatz firmware and poor updates.

I still use both of those apps, so yes they still work fine, what happens is sometimes updates will mess the apps up, so all you have to do is go apk pure, it has a version history button, while you can try all of the versions until you find one that works, i like to download the apk app, since it's easier to use, i also know other great apps that are just like showbox but better cinema hd is a good one, also cyberflix

I found the solution after trying some wire and wireless headphones in a store, it seems that the USB-C cable itself may be the problem since it's converting the audio signal from the jack analogic to digital, but with the wireless on, i've noticed something off, it seems that the Xiaomi equalizer it's not active when the wireless headphones are on, and I've been having this problem when i installed the last MIUI Update (which is MIUI Global 10.2.30).

So if you're experiencing this kind of problem I suggest trying other USB-C brands (since the one that comes with the device it's the one causing the trouble) or either trying wireless headphones, which have their pros and cons over the wired ones like draining more battery with bluetooth on or having to charge the headphones but sometimes the wires might get on the way or be quite annoying.

Otherwise this may be a problem of the last MIUI Update so maybe the will fix this issue with future versions.

Update came thru this morning and it indeed fixed wired bud sound quality. Now they are right on par with BT buds. Very pleased.

I would be very wary of trying to change limits in something as sensitive as a quick charging system. There's a lot more to these things than pushing more current at higher voltages.

Does it revert instantly or when you try to charge it? A QC4 system can test the rating of your cable, and won't draw more current than that. And you've said yourself that your charger is rated at 3A, so doesn't sound like a QC4 charger (though QC4 can deliver 18W at 2A using 9V).

I've been a One Plus user for over a year and half now and love their phones. The fact that they come unlocked from the manufacture is great since you can use with almost any carrier. But having them with Verizon will definitely put a notch in their belt.

This sounds a mess. I'd be tempted at this point to either try the fastboot solution or reflash the phone software completely. Unfortunately it sounds like the Sony support solution was just something read from a script (like service providers always say "factory reset" for everything) rather than knowledge of the specific problem.

So the original Samsung video app won't run on anything later than 5.1.1 Lollipop? Sure it won't run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow?

Thing is you're just not going to find a Samsung 5.1.1 firmware for a Galaxy S7, as Samsung never made that AFAIK. If you really do need to run this Samsung video app, you're going to have to find an older Samsung device, that had 5.1.1, like an S6 or Note 5.

BTW I know about some things Africa, as we have several thousand African students studying at universities here in Jinan, China.

the only thing is....is that you have s-on (security on). you can't do much unless you get s-off. so it looks like phone is not completely rooted. curious how did the phone get in this state? since you have a custom recovery did you make a nandroid backup before all of this began?

edit: sorry, but looks like the devs have figured a way around getting s-off.

most custom roms are safe. most devs are pretty reliable.......now i say most. just like anything, do your research first before installing. always look to xda for custom roms. xda is a developers forum. it is where most will publish their roms or other root goodies.

just make sure to never download anything from an untrusted site.

and lastly before doing anything make sure you have a nandroid backup. do not flash or alter anything unless you do a nandroid backup. if something goes wrong you can go into recovery and restore a nandroid backup and you are good to go.

My laptop with a dual band Intel wifi chip connects to the router at 300mbps, so I know the router is set to 40mhz mode double channel width.
I should be getting 150mbps with a 1x1 antenna.

and yet, all my android devices can only connect to the router at 802.11g speed... 65-72mbps, instead of 150mbps.

The router is sitting a few feet away from the devices.

How do I fix this?

I tested 3 phones and 1 tablet.
