Can't connect Rii 8 to android tv

My Rii 8 keyboard won't connect to my jetstream tv box. It finds it, connects then drops connection. I have tried factory resets, clearing cache and data from bt apps. Nothing seems to work. I actually got an old netgear android keyboard remote to connect but not the Rii 8. It is the true bluetooth model without the dongle. Has anyone had any success connecting one to android tv? Thanks.

Android Upgrade

Not unless the manufacturer has produced an update for it (like any mobile OS, android always has to be built for the specific model of device). Or, if the device can be unlocked, if someone else who knows what they are doing has done so (a "custom ROM").

In this case both are absurdly unlikely. The manufacturer certainly hasn't, this isn't a device that will attract developers, and it's highly unlikely that the system firmware will be compatible with Android 9 anyway. Basically I think there's no chance.

Root Magic Smoke Live Wallpapers????

It doesn't download for me
You could always buy smokes if you want smoke. But about the colored smoke......that'll require a little more effort on expanding your mind. Oh wait! You meant the wallpapers? jk, jk. Ok, i'll attach the de-odexed apk here, as googling works, but takes a bit of time sometimes. Beyond that follow Mikenly's instructions at the link he provided above to his other post on how to make your phone use it, and it should do well. =>

Can a work computer (PC)

So you want to be able to take files from the computer and put them on your phone? And you're blocked from doing that via USB cable? Is that correct?

One word: AirDroid. There's no need to install anything on the computer; just use a web browser to connect to the phone.

I don't belong here, in a window$ thread, so if I've totally misconstrued things, just tell me to take a hike. :D

Something I've had with AirDroid, and it may affect its use here as @dontpanicbobby is in a work environment? Some WiFi does not allow devices to communicate directly with each other. Home WiFi is usually OK, but corporate, public, hotel, etc. WiFi often doesn't. AirDroid requires that devices and computers to be able to communicate directly with each other via the WiFi for direct transfers.

You'll know when you scan the AirDroid QR code...
airdroid.png

This was on hotel WiFi. and both my phone and Macbook were definitely connected to the same WiFi AP

AirDroid will still work if you do login to an AirDroid account, but any file transfers are uploaded to AirDroid's servers and then downloaded again to the other device or computer over the internet, and NOT directly device to computer.

question about ethernet

thanks i knew that about the cd i just made mention of it. and i know i can't make a 2.0 usb into a 3.0 usb i have the 2.0 port in the phone and the phone supports 2.0 only. some of the youtubes are saying this can be done and they claim to be doing it but i'm now leaning towards these being scams. but if someone here says it can be done and proves it then i may have things to do to get it to work. again thanks for that help. it looks like i have more work to do yet if this is going to work. some are telling me i need a tablet that has 6.0 or above on it but being my phone has 7.0 i said 8.0 my mistake it has 7.0 and this dongle fails to work better i think it may be internal to the devices like your saying. thanks much.

i did some looking and discovered that i was not using an otg device. must be something to the otg device. so i will get one and try it to see. plus i need 6.0 to get it to work. so if it works on the phone then i will get a tablet and run my tinycam on the new tablet. thanks

Ata a loss on how to execute app

No idea about that, I'm using AS - but yeah, you need to get an .apk if you want to run an app.

I'm also a bit concerned about your app, though - How are you loading the relevant APIs? How are you testing the app? I'm not familiar with the tool you're using, but is it designed to create android apps? Do you have an emulator to test it on?

I'll leave other questions about it for more advanced developers here.
