I have an old email address that I'm trying to delete when I compose a new email. I went into contacts and changed the email address. When I tried to compose, both the old and the new appeared. I tried every trick I could find from Google on how to get rid of the old address. Nothing worked.

Finally I decided to delete the contact altogether and start over. I did that, and the new address no longer appears, but the old address still does. I have deleted the cache, did a force quit on the app, and even restarted my phone.

There must be some way to delete the address when I compose a new email, but I am totally lost on what might work. Other than buying a new phone and starting from scratch, can anyone suggest a solution? I am totally mystified.

Last post of the day I think will be this: Has Google Messages been able to resolve the fact when I receive MMS messages on my non primary SIM that I don't have to click each msgs to get it to load in the chat and then it is all out of order?

I went back to the default Android Messages app as it stated worked with the Dual SIM and it does.

Was not a huge fan of Google Messages, but, just wondering if that issue had been fixed.

Anyone else noticed the last update of Instragram seems to have broken Multiple Photo Post? I have two phones both acting the same way.

I have written an Android app in Kotlin, using Android Studio. I'm trying to generate a signed Bundle/APK in Android Studio in MacOS, selecting the 'Android App Bundle' option in the first window that appears. I select 'create new key store' in the following window and fill in the appropriate fields, but when I finish and click ok I get this error...:

Picked up _JAVA_OPTIONS:- Xverify:none

I've tried a few solutions, all via the terminal:

unset _JAVA_OPTIONS

JAVA_OPTIONS="-Djava.io.tmpdir=$HOME/tmp"

_SILENT_JAVA_OPTIONS="$_JAVA_OPTIONS" && unset _JAVA_OPTIONS && alias java='java "$_SILENT_JAVA_OPTIONS"'

...but I'm still getting an error when I try to generate a signed bundle. How do I stop this error so the new key store is created successfully? Thanks.

Dear Forum Folks:

I am building an H.264 media player that can decode elementary streams. I have it working ok, but the decoder always buffers up quite a few frames before displaying the first image. This is an IB (no P frames) only elementary stream I am decoding. I have noticed that if there are I frames every 5 frames, the Android player will start to display on the 7th frame. If there are 10 frames between I frames, it will display on the 12th frame and if there is 24 frames between I frames, it will display on the 18th frame. Is there any way around this?

I have read a lot of stuff using Google and there are suggestions, but no real answer. Just seems to be a hanging issue. However the drone guys figured out how to get around this since their player has very low latency so there must be a way to get the Android player to not buffer up so many frames and display on the 1st available I frame. Can you advise how to do this?

Just a few minutes ago and it saids "iphone images transfer" So my question is if you had one, why would you need another 5 Gigs added into another system, and have it transfered to an android such as this one, and able to search for it on in windows dir? That seems pretty odd.

Is anyone else having an issue with Google Play where you go to update apps and then apps from days/weeks ago suddenly show an update? I tend to go in there once a day and check because of this.

I am switching from my Redmi Note 9 Pro back to my Samsung Galaxy S9+ and I want to carry over all of my playlists. I'm using Mi Music and Samsung Music. I have over 3,000 songs and I don't want to have to go through all of them any put them all into playlists (again) if I can avoid it. I've tried many things but it's not nearly as easy as it should be. All of my music and playlists are downloaded to the phone and SD card directly as MP3 files directly into the music app.

I might need to apply for Political asylum due to my own government or whomever else involved not allowing me to even get any legal access in at least 7 years and I am an innocent victim, witness and loyal USA citizen by birth and should be plantiff against my own government possibly but can't even find out anything since none of my attempts at trying to actually get really needed help for actual human rights violations commited against me and my family members and possibly friends and who knows how many more people have all been blocked, stolen, intercepted or rerouted ,changed, vanished, altered or something else like that and been especially bad since learned that I am on the Snowden list back in 2015 and worried about how long I have been illegally hacked or on and off..not sure since can't get legal help or rights even. I have an Lenovo M10 Android tablet.
I know how to delete my search history in general and have turned off various fields in the site settings........
but recently search history tabs have started appearing beneath the search bar on Google's home page - (see attached pic).
I'm constantly removing them in order to get a blank page.
How do I prevent this search history from appearing ?
The recent search display still appears even when I've cleared my history.
I've already turned off all my activity fields
I'm using 'Chrome' as my browser - all history settings turned off.
'Google' is my homepage.
If I search for something, let's say 'depop'.......then every time I open a new tab on my tablet, a 'depop' link appears under the search bar, (see attached pic again).
Previously this did not happen.
Basically, I don't want to see any recent searches appear when I open a new tab.

I bought this as nearly new on Ebay some weeks ago, and the condition is perfect. The battery life is really poor, yesterday it went flat on me mid afternoon without heavy use.

Is there a way to assign a drive letter to an android phone?

I recently purchased a Pixel 4A. I’ve been attempting to connect the phone to my laptop PC via a mapped drive letter. I have been able to do so using WebDAV. I ran the code “net use X: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx” entering WebDAV’s assigned IP which may have done what’s expected. However, when I open File Explorer, I do not see “X” drive as an assigned network drive. I can locate the drive from a command prompt so apparently the drive assignment worked. However, when I enter a DIR command to see what’s located in X:\, nothing is listed. What I’m looking for is the DCIM folder.

What my ultimate goal is to write some simple batch file or powershell code to copy all photos from the phone to a specific laptop folder. I want to do this with little/no additional input from the user (i.e., a simple one click operation).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Bizarre, Gboard trys to predict what i am going to say when posting or replying to a post on Facebook mobile.(the only app that has this issue).
all instances of predictive text are off except "show suggestion strip" which i HAVE to have one on order to access the microphone for voice to text. IF i turn off "show suggestion strip" FB does not try to prediction what i am trying to type. Latest android on Samsung A525G.

any thoughts?

I have noticed that the Z Fold 4 as as well as the 3 I had briefly charge wirelessly very slowly. They never finish charging anywhere near the estimate given in the always on display.

This is kind of a problem for me.

I actually have a 5a, but there wasn't a category. I'm running Android 13 and have installed the one update to it as well.

I've noticed that a widget on the home screen of the phone was still present, but had turned red. It was semitransparent so I could still sort of see the widget. I then removed the widget thinking that was the problem and that area of the screen remains red. I didn't knowingly change any settings, nor can I find anything to change the color of this area.

Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

I am new to Android & have encountered an issue - I need to store more than 1 user name / password for a single website. Specifically, gmx.com where I have several email accounts each with a different password.

I am using the built-in feature within Android, not an app. Using a Moto Stylus phone.

From what I have found so far, Android appears to catagorize username/passwords in alphabetically order & only allows 1 username/password per letter - thus I seem to be only able to store 1 username/password for gmx.com.

As I say, I am new so maybe the above info has errors, but if so, proves I need some guidance which will be much appreciated. TIA, Joe

After turning on my travel Samsung Galaxy J2 phone to update software (as needed), there was a symbol in the Status Bar I had not seen before. It was a circle with a line through it. That symbol is not shown on the Status Bar page in the manual.

I re-started the phone and the symbol was no longer there. Anyone know what that symbol was/is?

This morning, when I turned my Samsung A-21 on and prepared to send a text with an emoji, I was shocked to see that the skin tone of all the "People" emojis had been changed to dark grey. I'm running Kaspersky Anti-Malware, but it didn't report any infections.

Anyway, how can I change the skin tones of all of them back? All the "help" instructions I've found (and there were very few of them) advise us to choose the Google DBoard, then long press any arbitrary People emoji and perhaps move your finger left or right, but I've tried 50 times and nothing even hinted that something might be happening!

Other "help" suggestions state blankly that I have to root my phone to change the skin tones, which is clearly gibberish since how would that explain how the colors got changed on my non-rooted phone in the first place!

May I ask some knowledgeable person to guide us, please?

I have an extremely specific use-case. I work for a rideshare company, and I have Buick Intellilink for on-dash nav capability (which is awesome). I just have to plug the phone in. BT automatically pairs when the phone is directly connected. The problem is that because the car is turned off & on so frequently, every ~5th connection to intellilink essentially freezes the BT audio, meaning when a call comes in, the car recognizes it, but can't initialize the audio. The 'rebooting' process is time consuming since the car has to be turned off long enough to sever the connection completely, and the phone needs to be rebooted - meaning I lose the ability to take a call, costing me a fare.

I purchased a BT speaker with 2-way communication, and it works wonderfully......... but only when the phone isn't plugged in to Intellilink, which overrides the external connection.

What I would like to do is permanently block BT to Intellilink so that it *can't even try* to connect, thereby leaving my external speaker as the only valid BT connection. It doesn't appear this is an option in any version of android, but is there an app or other option that would allow me to system-level block a BT connection to a certain address?

Does anyone know what this icon notification is on Samsung? The cloud looking one to the left of the Instagram notifications …thanks!
