RAM Check on Android 11 OS?

Hi all,

I tried searching the Internet for an answer to this but nothing came up for Android 11...

It's running the Android "Go" version that's made for devices with limited hardware like mine which only has 1GB of RAM.

It was so easy to check current RAM use on my very old phone running Android 4.1...

My phone is a ZTE. Link here with full specifications: https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/phones/optus/x-start-3

Thank you for any help!!!

bricked tablet build.prop

samsung galaxy tab2 7.0 gt-p3110 4.2.2, rooted. wanted to change sdk and release numbers in build.prop to sdk 23, release 6.0 ; installed build prop tweaker, changed the values; after restart it shows screen with big icons, and swipe to unlock, when i swipe does not unlock. when changing values ro.build.sdk , version.release in build prop tweaker, sdk changed easily, but release did not, showed a red warning; before reboot i opened build.prop.tmp under storage / 0/ (is it the right build.prop ?), in it sdk and version were changed to 23 , 6.0.

Help How to change the backup frequency for android phone

I am running Android 11 on a Samsung Galaxy A70. I am unable to change the backup frequency from my phone to Google drive or Samsung Cloud. Both are preset at 24 hours. I want to change the preset to a more longer duration. I recently noticed that my call log was gone. By the time I noticed it was gone, it was too late. My phone had already run a backup and had over written the old backup with the call log I needed. Also, is there a way to keep multiple backups on the cloud? That might help as well.

Created a Random Picker for Picking Things from Images

Screenshot_20230531-195114.png

Background
I previously created a random picker app. It has many rave reviews.

That app is great for making list of different items you want to pick from regularly.

However, there are certain cases where you might want to quickly pick something without wanting to enter each item and/or because it wouldn't be feasible (A book shelf or grocery aisle)

I've now created another app to handle such cases. It has been in the works for some time now and I have recently refined and updated it. I would like to share it with all of you loving Android users to test it out.

How it Works
To use the app, just take pictures of the items you want to pick from.

Press a button to randomly an item

A cursor will appear in the selected image and on the picked item.

You can choose to have it pick the item again if desired.

Where to Download

The app can be downloaded from the PlayStore at Image Picker - Random Picker - Apps on Google Play.

Suggestions and feedback

I made this for myself and I thought I would share it with all of you. But I know other people are dealing with the same issues. I am willing to listen to any suggestions/feedback that will improve the app for me and everyone else. Please comment below.

A Strange Anomaly

Today while working and listening to tunes via BT my local songs started skipping and restarting. I've had this happen before when my phone became active in my pocket and opened multiple apps. In the past I simply closed all and opened my player again and all was fine. Today. however. I found the player ( VLC ) was still active and started playing right where it left off. I closed all apps again and turned the phone off. The phone was off for at least ten minutes before I booted it up again. VLC was still open and continued to play right where I paused it before closing it and turning the phone off.
It's not a big deal but I've yet to understand just how it stayed resident when the phone was off. Just tossing this out for discussion.

Stop Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Scanning

I have a Samsung Android phone. When I toggle Bluetooth on, it scans for Bluetooth devices and displays a dialogue with a device list. Likewise when I toggle Wi-Fi on, it scans for available networks and displays them in a dialogue. Is there a way of turning this automatic scanning off? When I toggle Bluetooth or Wi-Fi on, these popups are not required most of the time. I would rather just have auto connect to available devices / networks and otherwise connect manually.

What's wrong with my looping phone?

It happens to be a Moto G9 Power, just over two years old, but it could be any phone... It's been very well looked after, not dropped, wetted, or damaged in any way. Battery life has always been fine.

It was in use (messaging) with at least 60% battery and it just shut down.

When you try to reboot it comes up with the splash screen then restarts.

I let the battery run right down to 0% as that used to help on some old device I had. But it won't charge. You see the 0% charged screen, but no charge light comes on and it doesn't charge.

It won't boot even on mains charger.

Someone on another forum kindly helped me re-image the phone, which seemed to go OK but made no difference.

So we've concluded it has a hardware problem - but what?

I've replaced the bit you plug the charger into.

Is it likely to be the battery itself? Or something else?

Cyberstalked - Blackview A52 phone hacked, how can I reset?

Hi all!

I've been experiencing problems with my Blackview A52 phone which I had only recently purchased through Amazon on 20th March 2023. It didn't take long before the problems started to appear. I have had 5 PCs and 4 phones that are showing the same problems so I know I am being harassed by a stalker but I need help securing at least on device, or getting help on what would be good evidence to take to the police.

I have attached some videos and a document with images and explanation as to why I think I may have been bugged but would appreciate if anyone can confirm if this is hacked, or not. Are these settings and apps that Blackview installs in all of it's devices? If so, could you guide me in restoring control over the device?

Thanking you in advance!

How to increase the time the lock screen stays on for

I'm referring to the time between pressing the power button to switch on the screen, to the time the screen goes off again if I don't enter the PIN/pattern.

It used to annoy me a little, if the phone was slow doing BOINC, it would time out before it had acknowledged my pattern.

But now I've found a bigger annoyance, one which is not so unique to me. I switched on the ability to read a text on the lock screen. How the hell do I read a text in 5 seconds? What were Google thinking?!

It would appear there's no setting for this apart from using the front camera to stay awake while you're looking at the phone. But my front camera got cracked....

There's an app called Caffeinate but as per usual with Google's over the top security on modern versions of Android, it's no longer compatible.

Any ideas?

Help Samsung "Can’t Load Android System Your Data May Be Corrupt"

I damaged my older Samsung a20e and I don't know what to do.

As an amateur, I looked at various instructions on how to flash Firmware, as a result I downloaded more than one Firmware for a20e (O2C, which is correct in my case) and flashed it via Odin.

Unfortunately, I did it without making a backup because I am an amateur who got into something I had no business with.

Everything seemed fine, Odin wrote: Pass

But it isn't as it only loads the Samsung logo and keeps restarting.

After a while it throws me android recovery (if I don't go there myself) with the message: Can’t Load Android System Your Data May Be Corrupt

It offers me a factory data reset, but then nothing happens.

I somehow got to the normal android recovery menu, but even after deleting all the data, cache and trying to reboot it is still the same.

I will be glad if there is someone who can help me.

Words Soccer

I would like to introduce my new online game Word Soccer. The principle of the game is to make more words from the available letters than your opponent in six rounds.
In each round you can also get a yellow card if you don't use each of the offered letters at least once, or your longest composed word is shorter than your opponent's longest word.
For each red card, you then lose one of the letters offered in the next round.
Primarily, the game should only take nouns, but the dictionary is unfortunately not yet fully fine-tuned as I'm not from an English-speaking country, but if there are problems, you can either double-tap the unrecognized word to suggest it be added to the dictionary, or conversely, you can double-tap a word that has been recognized by your opponent and shouldn't be to suggest it be removed from the dictionary.

Pixel Fold June 2023 Release....you getting one????

hey guys,
so this is the second time this has happened to me on my z fold phones. 1st it was my z fold 3 and now its happening on my z fold 4. what is happening you asked? well the screen protector is starting to come off.....right in the middle near the hinge. you can hear it crackle when close and open it. you can hear the glue unstick from the protector. i do not notice it as much when it is unfolded and the screen is on. but turn the screen off and you can see it.

so long story short i have an appointment at the Samsung Experience store here in LA. hopefully they can fix it on the spot. as much as i love the phone, i am getting tired of the screen issue.

so now i am thinking of getting a pixel fold. so far the reviews have been really good. and they have a good trade in program. once the screen is fixed on my z fold 4, google will give me $900 bucks trade in. i have no idea though as to where i will buy it....online or at Best Buy. at Best Buy i have can get the Geek Squad protection for it. i do not know if google has something similar.

anyways, is anybody else considering getting one?

Blu contact blues

My friend got a Blu government phone from somebody who was sick of it. Yeah, it's a real cheapie. Now the guy who had it wants the contacts from it. That sounds simple enough but it's been a headache. We couldn't find a way to export them as a file, only import. Apparently it's not possible to send them via email. Probably the only thing left is to write them out by hand and mail them. I guess the phones aren't in close enough proximity for some kind of sharing.

Help Google Photos sporadically duplicated all media

Google Photos has just created a duplicate of almost all of my media on my Pixel. It seems it has sporadically split virtually each photo/video into on-device and on-Cloud copies, whereas before the on-device/Cloud split was consolidated into each photo/video. The on-device copies are currently not being backed up to the Cloud due to storage having run out, and I want to keep it that way as I don't want a duplicate of each on the Cloud. If I manually go through and delete the duplicate on-device copies (which would, btw, take a very long time), I expect there is a high probability Google Photos will also delete the Cloud copy when it syncs due to shared metadata (I've seen Google Photos do similar automatic deletions in the past). So how can I resolve this? P.S. This is far from the first critical bug I've reported. I plan to switch back to iPhone after this, although they have their own issues, but not as bad as this.

Tor trouble

I got on Tor and googoo asked if I wanted it to save a password. NO I DO NOT. Then I attempted a download but the connection timed out, more than once. It did show that I downloaded, although I could not find it in Simple Files. I shut down Tor and had the same experience when I fired it up again. Is googoo somehow involved in this (beyond the password)? How do I get them to mind their own business for once? Cache clearing is probably not enough. I don't want to lose searches or anything that way. Lord knows I am tempted to do something about googoo and/or their "play services".

Backup Samsung Android Phone

I have recently migrated from iPhone to a Samsung Android. I am trying to figure out the best way to backup the whole phone so that it could be restored to a new phone including apps, app data, widgets, layout etc. In the settings under "Accounts and backup" and "Smart switch", there is an option for "External storage transfer" to backup to a USB storage device but it's not clear exactly what this backs up.

My Clipboard Deleted

Hi all,

Yesterday, I accidentally deleted my save on Samsung A51. It really was important stuff. I've tried GBoard, but it only recovers the latest save. I need to recover like 5 previous saves. Do you think there's another way to do it? I've tried recovery tools like iMyFone D-Back, but I don't know what to look for. Not sure if it was saved as an image or a document. Can anybody help me out?

Thanks in advance
