The thing that is upsetting the most is what most of you seem to miss, has Sprint officially said what the delay is???
How does that make you feel as a customer??
When all the other thing, Wii, PS3, etc went Sold Out, we had a word why.
Is HTC fixing problems, hopefully. Do we have a guarantee, no. that I think is the most upsetting to me.
Sprint hasn't said why, and I don't expect them too. I'm sure its not good marketing to come out and say "We are sold out because we are having issues with the phone and are changing some things". They are not required to tell you why and I don't expect them to just offer that to you if there is a possibility that it could hurt their image.
And before you say "Them not saying something is bad publicity"...look at it from a view of someone not on a message board. Most people don't know nor care. We are just a small percentage that makes up Sprint's customer base that wants the phone and partakes in communities like this. We are by far the minority. I don't expect Sprint to cater to us.
Now put yourself in the shoes of current people buying '11 Mustangs. These past few months a lot of them have been left in the dark about their cars. They have been built, but have been sitting in Ford's lot and not being shipped. Ford hasn't said a thing because (a) they aren't required to and (b) telling the masses their is an issue is not good publicity. When the car is ready and up to Ford's standards, it will be shipped.
and to the people saying that the Third party stores are getting phones of the old build, lets think about that. If the phone is sold out it is sold out. Now the new run in the HTC plants would be the new build, so unless HTC is building two builds at the same time this makes no sense. I dont think there is some magic bunker hiding all these phones from for people who are getting them third party wise.
What you have to understand about 3rd party stores (Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc...) is that they have a supply chain that goes beyond getting a shipment directly from HTC. They may have some stock somewhere within their system that was shipped a few weeks ago and is just now making it to their store fronts. Sprint.com most likely gets their stock directly from the manufacturer.
