I bet it is the DX. I have a replacement DX and my original (with a little screen problem but otherwise functional). I updated one to Froyo clean, right out of the box from Verizon (after rooting). Market worked for about an hour and then stopped. The DX still on 2.1 reaches the market over WiFi without a problem.

I did a factory reset of the Froyo DX and after the reset it was still unable to reach the market (same network server error). After restoring the device with Titanium Backup, everything works except market.

I have also tried the AppBrain solution, downloading an app with appbrain and the market problem did not go away.

Other devices may have this problem, but i can say with some certainty that two identically configured devices running 2.1 and 2.2 behave very differently with the 2.1 device having no issues.

Lastly, if it helps anyone sort this out, immediately after the 2.2 update on the new DX the market didn't work, but that was solved by simply opening up the browser, closing the browser and going back to the market - so i chalked it up to a data connection issue.

I hope someone can figure this out and fix it since losing the market is not the best tradeoff for having froyo...

The samsung processors are nice but the galaxy line of phones has more problems than anything. Right now the droid x and verizon are without a doubt the best choice in android phone and carrier. And although the droid x will be old news in six months vzw will still reign supreme. Ps get out of herewith that fan boo blind ads username and attitude.

unless i'm playing quake 2 (which i dont) i'll take the x. and, i may or may not have experience with both. (wink, wink)

you should visit the samsung galaxy-S/captivate/vibrant threads. People are getting that score without froyo! Imagine when official froyo and I/O fix comes to samsung galaxy S, they will get like 3500 scores.

cool story.. put us all to sleep with irrelevant info.

^LOL@ that being a name of one of the Samsung phones...

I aint gonna lie, there are some features on the Samsung phones I wish the X had. There are some things on the EVO I wish the X had.

I'm not gonna fret over another phone having higher scores tho when I kept the X for a specific reason. If my X didnt have better reception than my Droid....

I would still be rocking my Droid as my main phone.

I put froyo on my X this morning and ever since, the market has been acting real slow and now within the last 2 hours it wont work at all except searches???

I'm pretty sure the market is down right now.

Check on Twitter and you can see that a lot of people are saying that the market is down for them.

Yeah it is hit and miss. Sometimes a market function will complete, the very next time I get the network error. To me, that seems that it would indicate a market issue that is only coincident with our leaked update.

on my first access everything on my downloads was working

Installed two updates and uninstall. the market just hung on installing state. reboot. retry error

The market on my droid x with 2.2 (rooted) is not working either. It was working fine several hours ago, so I'm just going to wait it out and see what happens tomorrow too.

About 10 minutes after I posted that above, the market is working again. I didn't do anything! I'm guessing it is just problems with the market itself, but it sure makes things interesting after doing the leaked update!

It only appears to be back up in a limited capacity for me. Whenever I open up the Market, it immediately brings up the message "No matching content in Android market," as if I had just performed a search. If I try to click on different categories (Apps, Games, Etc.) it only brings up a shortened list of available apps.

As an example, when I click on the Verizon category, I only get two apps to appear: "NFL Mobile" and "Taylor Swift".

Is anyone else still having these problems?

I was...til 5 minutes ago I did the following:
I killed the market app in task killer.
Then,
Homescreen/menu button, settings/
Applications, manage applications/
went to market app under ALL Tab, then
Tapped on clear cache.
Market now works normal again.

It seems to be caused by having too much stuff installed. I fixed it by uninstalling a ton of stuff. However, if you run GScript on cache2sd, that seems to free up a TON more space and should fix the problem as well.

Yes, the network issue with the market seems to be resolved now. However, are you guys getting the problem where copy-protected apps are not showing up? Check out the thread here:

http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid-x/154976-2-2-market-issues-use-mod.html

I can confirm that the protected apps are not showing up on my Droid X (2.2 rooted) in the market. I really don't understand how to modify that prop file, so I was hoping that maybe once the official Froyo build was released, the protected apps would start showing up again. Or is this leaked 2.2 version always going to prevent us from seeing the protected apps without making this prop modification?

I'm having the same problem, copy-protected paid apps are not found in the market.

Mlb At Bat 2010, Texts From Last Night, CacheMate are the most notable for me.

Hey guys. I'm normally an incredible user but have been on here for a while. My gf has the X and we updated it to 2.2 last night.
A few problems we've noticed:
text times in handcent are completely wrong, but not wrong in the stock app(could be an app issue)
Originally she was not able to delete widgets from her homescreen, but after a hopeful reboot, all of her homescreens are completely wiped.
We're going to try a battery pull/reboot and see if that helps.
My next step is to do a factory reset.

Any other ideas?

Same problem for me (as emr25). :-( I saw the fix on the other post but I'm not rooted so don't know how to fix this.... :-( Oh well, time to keep reading.
