[Official] The "I have received Froyo!" Thread

Just checked, it's 11:45 9/21, and I have it available! Going to hold off for it for now. I work tomorrow, but have Thursday-Saturday off, so I'll have plenty of time to see how it goes for others and take care of it later. I'm from the iPhone jailbreak community, I'm used to not doing updates right away, so no problem.
 
I just installed the OTA update. So far the phone seems MUCH FASTER. Text messaging does not lag anymore. However my power control widget seems to be broken. same for the airplane toggle widget. Also my beautiful weather home widget wont even load... says "loading home screen" forever...

please tell me its something with the bootstrap recovery i used to get the theme remover to work! im tired of downloading this damn file!!

Looks like that themes remover put back blockbuster, but not kindle or amazon.
Anyone want to be REALLY nice and send me yours?

also i cant even get my phone connected to my pc... not even for a charge!!
im restarting my phone..

ok after i manually restarted I got a popup saying 2.2 install was successfull. lol. all my widgets are working again
 
got stuck on MOTO loop, just like when i tried the leaked version.
doing SBF now.
i wonder if it was cuz i had a different boot screen.
will update after. SBF/cache wipe/reset

Update : sbf not working like it did last time....now i get... on the X

i cannot get the phone to where i can select factory restore...
 
Wow, here's a plus I didn't even consider... when froyo sped up my phone, it also doubled my computer speed! I use PDAnet exclusively for internet on my computer, and after doing the froyo update I did a speed test and it was more than double what I was getting with eclair. NICE!!!!
 
sorry another reply... but with the 2.2 update they changed the usb modes... you have to use PC mode now. It shows a droid x icon and for some reason seems to load a HELLUVALOT slower ??

OH - and I downloaded the bootstrap recovery - and uninstalled it, and It still comes up, how do i get rid of that?!!?!
 
further tinkering and I realized USB Mass Storage still works. I was just having issues or something.

I was having issues myself. It kept saying update failed. I flashed the sbf back on the phone. Downloaded androot again. Moved the SU file from BIN to XBIN. The update worked and i am still rooted. Harrah

edit. spoke to soon, not rooted

did you do a backup or something so you can put everything back without starting over?
can you explain the SU file more?
im so pissed I cant make this work!
 
My phone downloaded and installed the update just fine, but it got stuck on the red eye for at least 10 minutes. I finally pulled the battery and after about 5 minutes it moved past the eye. Now it will get to my home screen but it is unresponsive and then it will shut itself off and you cannot power it back up without a battery pull. FYI, my phone is bone stock and has never been tinkered with (rooted) at all. Only thing I'm doing besides what came stock is I'm running Launcher Pro.

What should I do? Take it to VZW?
