[Official] The "I have received Froyo!" Thread

so I needed to SBF my phone, and before I did I made a bootstrap recovery "backup" and a titanium backup of all data and settings.
Which would work Best to get 2.2 to install and restore everything to where it was?
 
manual check on stock 2.1 in raleigh, nc turned it up right away. wifi download in under 5min, reboot, install in ~5min more...

next reboot under way...

hung at the droid eye for a long time, but eventually came through. voila! 2.2 running. sync symbol came on for a while once phone was booted, and it was very slow until that went away. seems fine now, at first glance. launcher pro working. time will tell.

PPTP VPN appears to work...yay! and wifi hooked right up (which it would do sometimes, but not always, under 2.1).
 
now that I got the upgrade, what should I try/site/app, that I can do now that I couldn't before? Can I root now? I never tried before.
 
HaHas anyone in ohio gotten the update? I have been trying since 11am and it still says updates are unavailable at this time.

Help! I got Froyo on my phone! Should I stick it in a bag of rice? ;)
PS, was available when I checked around 8am MT.
 
Installed this am. Loaded perfectly with no problems. Even got a txt message while it updated :).
Seems to be no difference in phone function to me(not one to be overwhelmed by something 'new'). Nice to have Flash. Will check changes out as I go. Like the battery manager now.
 
Was pleasantly surprised to see the update available around 12:05AM after checking manually. I'm in Washington DC.

So glad to have Chrome to phone again after having it on my rooted D1.
 
my facebook app no longer loads the content
alawys says an error had occured, and it timed out.
but my browser works just fine, so its not the connection.

also the handscent timestamp is way off now, wut the heck..
can anyone provide some assistance
 
Mine is forever stuck at the Moto logo... hadn't done anything to my phone other than load apps... LPP, Widgetlocker, Bettercut, Astro, FolderOrganizer. And a couple other things from the market.

DL'd the update, clicked to install, it restarted, and has been at the logo for 30 mins. Pulled the battery, restarted, still nothing.

I am not a happy camper!!!
 
Yeah facebook is not updating and I barely notice a difference in the froyo update. 3G still flakey and now my screen randomly flips to landscape. The keypad is mad lagging lol maybe these launch droids were defective from the get go. I also have a new battery from VZW but I've given up on the power settings.
 
does no one here use handscent?
if u do....could i get some kind of assistance with the timestamp?

Odds are various apps will get updates now that they have to update them for froyo. I'd say sit tight a few days.

Same here but only on the conversation screen for outgoing. Incoming fine. Also all timestamps correct in each conversation thread.

should i delete all my text conversations?
and any texts from there on out
it will display the correct time?

is there any solution for this rediculous time.
this only happened after i updated to froyo
